Saudis calling shots at Annapolis peace conference?

Syrian troops used to stand on top of the Golan Heights and fire upon Israeli farmers along Lake Tiberias. Perhaps we will see that happening again. And meanwhile, Hizballah is taking advantage of the political crisis in Lebanon to make thousands of new recruits, and the Saudis, on their way to the Annapolis debacle-to-be, announced that they won't be going in for any "theatrics" such as handshakes with Israeli officials, dirty kuffar that they are. The concessions are coming entirely from Israel, with jihadist intransigence looking to be rewarded once again.

By Aaron Klein for WorldNetDaily.com (thanks to Doug):

JERUSALEM – In exchange for Saudi Arabia attending this week's U.S.-sponsored Israeli-Palestinian conference in Annapolis, the Israeli government agreed to recognize the importance of a Saudi-sponsored "peace initiative" in which the Jewish state is called upon to evacuate the strategic Golan Heights, the entire West Bank and eastern sections of Jerusalem, including the Temple Mount, WND has learned.

WND obtained a draft Israeli-Palestinian declaration to be presented at the Annapolis conference and to serve as an official outline of a final settlement between Israel and the Palestinian Authority

The wording is still being negotiated by both sides, but according to Israeli diplomatic sources, Israel agreed to a Saudi request that the declaration document include reference to a Saudi-backed Arab Peace Initiative, first presented in 2002 and reissued earlier this year at a meeting of the Arab League, an umbrella association of Mideast Arab states.

When it was first revealed, the Arab Initiative was heavily criticized by the U.S. and Israel because the text requires the Jewish state to withdrawal from the West Bank and Gaza and allow for the creation of a Palestinian capital in Jerusalem, including the evacuation of the Temple Mount - Judaism's holiest site.

The Initiative also called for a full withdrawal from the Golan Heights, strategic mountainous territory that looks down on Israeli population centers and that was twice used by Syria to launch ground invasions into the Jewish state.

But now Israel has recognized the Arab Initiative as a precondition for Saudi Arabia to attend the Annapolis summit, according to diplomatic sources in Jerusalem.

While Israel doesn't commit itself to the Arab Initiative's requirements, a clause in the current draft of the Israeli-Palestinian declaration slated for the Annaplis conference and obtained by WND reads: "We recognize the critical supporting role of Arab and Muslim states and the importance of the Arab Peace Initiative."

No, it doesn't sound like the Saudis are calling the shots pre-Annapolis. The Israelis are putting them at the table by being good sports.

I wish we'd simply get past the idea of Land for Peace, which was the worst thing to come out of the 1967 war. I wish we'd get to the point where Israel doesn't negotiate at all and continues to be the mouse in this game of cat-and-mouse.
Cats are prideful, lazy and stupid. Mice are clever. The cat runs for his supper while the mouse runs for its life. Keeping running and keep nibbling off pieces of the dar-al-Islam cheese wheel. Keep building on the positive aspects of 1967 and pretend like you mean something else so that the opposition continues to believe its own bullshit propaganda.

Pray that this fallacy of a "peace conference" somehow fails to materialise. It will surely bring disaster to all nations who participate in it.
"And in that day I will make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people; all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered togethet against it...."

What a joke this "peace" conference is.

Why not call it a pissing contest, as this is all it is. With the introduction of the toxic Saudis, the whole effort becomes even more risible.

(is there a post presidency payoff for both G.W. and Condi ?)

To misunderstand islam is to be stupid as well as suicidal. The supremicist sharia driven aggression is easily traceable to the koran. Ignorance is truly unforgiveable.

Israelis, have mercy on the West - get rid of Olmert.

"Peace" means submission to Islam to Muslims, whether in this "conference" setting or in the world at large.

"Cease fires" are not peace.

Just breathing room and time for the enemy to regroup.

Israel is an obstruction to the Juggernaut of Arab/Islamic imperialism.

If this speedbump to the Caliphate cannot be defeated on the battlefield, it will be undermined in the press, the UN, and taken over demographically and democratically.

Israel had their chance, in 1967, to righteously expel an infiltrating Islamic presence, but failed.

Now it is simply counting down to oblivion because of its decision to try to reason with its de facto invaders.

Who will smile for as many decades as it takes to return Israel to Dar al Islam's clutches for good.

It had been said Arabs had not displayed any particular genius in the world, such as their lack of Nobel awards. But they do have one particular 'genius' to offer. They lie with masterful skills. Any time they say anything close to the truth, accept as a mere stall for time, a hudna, but not sincerity. That they do not have.

Having Saudi representation at Annapolis of their Arab Peace initiative is a pure display of Arab genius.

Give the "palestinians" some land roughly the size of the Gaza strip north of the west bank, talk all of Jerusalem back, dimantle the Dome of the rock and put it one the outskirts of Jerusalem. Then see if the "palestinians" can build something besides rockets. Then you only have one front to worry about.

Does anyone take this sham seriously? Is this being done so George Bush can deflect the criticism that he did nothing to make a peace deal between Israel and the Arabs? The Arabs of Gaza and the West Bank are engaged in civil war; rockets are being fired at Israel every day; and the Arab campaign of instilling hatred against Israel continues. What is the real agenda being played out here? Is this an attempt by the U.S. to create a coalition to freeze out Iran's influence? Is this "peace conference" actually a war council strategy session to discuss the upcoming war with Iran? Could be we will see a war happening soon after this meeting.

This is the sacrifice of Israel for 'peace' with the 'moderate' Arabs. What will be asked of Israel will be suicidal.

Israel cannot do what will be asked of them. Then a three-front war will be launched against tiny Israel and the U.S. can tut-tut-tut and be lukewarm in their support of Israel and say well you had it coming by not going along with our Annapolis Peace deal.

A few million REAL Israelis will be left to fight to the death and show the world as in the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, what it means to die well and hopefully bring down tens of millions of their enemies with them.

hhmmm, let me see - we have how many muslim leaders attending vs one Israeli leader who is fighting for their country's right to exist because the surrounding muslims want them exterminated - or at the most to accept dhimmitude again? This sounds more like a gang vs one. Oh, the one has a 'supporter' who wants to make a legacy for themselves and can't even recognize the saudis for what they are - thugs. That doesn't sound like a supporter to me.

And, once again, it is expected of Isreal to let go of some more land - while the muslims do nothing!?!? Oh, I forget they are to promise a 'peace' treaty again - while all the non-muslims present still haven't a clue that a muslim 'peace' treaty only can go as far as 10 years and if they want to break it sooner - that is ok with the muslims.

I find a lot of people very stupid. I am not even going to mince words. With the USA leading up the gang of stupid.

Here's an "out of the box" idea for a solution to the so-called "Palestinian problem." The Israelis could trade their "right of return" to the Saudi expanses that the Jews occupied prior to Mohammed to the Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank and elsewhere in exchange for the the latter's "right of return" to Israel. Then the Palestinians could use their exchanged "right of return" and move in with their Saudi bretheren and live in peace happily ever after. Just a thought...

Agree the whole thing is a SHAM. A futile exercise
cooked up by Bush's advisors in the hope of diverting attention from Lame Duck Prez and his
disastrous wars.
Fortunately the Israelis are too intelligent to pay more than lip service to ánother 'Peace Conference.' Nothing will be achieved except photo
opportunities for the leaders-including Conga dancing Condi, Mahmood Upon the Abyss Abbas, and fat
Saudis scoffing another free lunch.

...and as expected, the seeming sham allows the islamists to get overconfident, and start issuing blackmail demands, before it even starts...
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071125/ap_on_re_mi_ea/lebanon_election
...something the assumed shot-callers weren't prepared for (hezbollah's trying to steal the thunder)...and could easily end up painting the supposed "peacemaking" mOslems out to be the very same terrorist sponsors (if not downright hypocrites) they actually are, especially since they stuck their balls in the diplomatic vise simply by showing up with a country they don't even recognize, and are still technically at war with...
...and this could easily explode (no pun intended) in the mOslems face just as badly as is already assumed of the Israelis as if a foregone conclusion, which it could be anything but).

Patience, grasshoppers...
the book contents may end up proving very different than its cover.
;-)

I've read every Bush-apologist-excuse under heaven from George W. Bush-lovers / worshippers. Conservative-Republicans are the very best Bush-apologists. Especially national radio talk show hosts like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity. Then we have the conservative bloggers and web masters, all Bush worshippers.

It's Bush's advisers doing this, they say. It's Condoleezza Rice doing this. It's the State Department. Everyone but America's Arabian president is working to establish the 23rd Muslim terrorist state in the Middle East.

I am a thirty six year registered Republican. I've not seen anything quite like this appeasement / betrayal of an ally, since Neville Chamberlain. Chamberlain was a prince by comparison to this duplicitous world leader, this little quisling from Texas.

Blame falls on everyone but the Jew-hater in chief.

How will Bush every make restitution before the Almighty? I will never forgive this Israel-hater for what he is doing to our only reliable ally in the region; all to please his Saudi jihadists friends.

George W. Bush is treacherous and reprehensible, Israel's traitorous prime minister notwithstanding.

The Jews in Israel will pay a terrible, bloody price should Mr. Bush be successful dismantling the Jewish state this week.

Make no mistake about it, George W. Bush has it in for the Jews. One day, like Eichmann, he will pay for his crimes.

He's a screwup...but nowhere NEAR the "jew hater" as THIS asshat, who started the ball rolling in the first place...
http://www.terrorismawareness.org/jimmy-carters-war/
W CAN'T screw things up as badly as the dhimmi himself has already done...fan the flames, perhaps, but that ball's already been rolling for a long time now...and also another thread entirely.

jcom972, this is not going to work with me. I listened to Carter's "Palestine, Peace Not Apartheid" on audio. Carter is vicious anti-Semite. Unlike Bush, he does not couch his Jew-hatred in flattering, meaningless phrases like "I am going to stand by Israel." Carter is forthright in his hatred of the Jews and Israel.

I prefer a Jimmy Carter over a George W. Bush. At least with Carter, you know where he stands on the Jews.

Bush likes to give us all these soothing, smooth phrases. "Israel is our friend. I'm going to stand by Israel....America's special relationship with Israel precedes and transcends the peace process," etc. All meaningless platitudes.

I expect Democrats like Carter to appease our enemies. We do not expect this from "genuine" conservatives.

Bush has it in his heart to destroy the Jewish state. He will have destabilized the entire region. This will be George W. Bush's legacy. Bush is with the jihadists; he, his father and his friends; James f*&% the Jews Baker III, and other close family friends.

Well, if that's what ya believe...then, knock yourself out on that one.
(though the james baker take is the only one accurate)

In the mean time, back to topic...
http://www.debka.com/headline.php?hid=4806
So if Israel is attacked in the middle of what appears to be a "peace conference", it won't be the Israelis who look bad...but the jackals screeding their blackmail...ooops, I mean demands, even before the conference started...and we can activate the Big Stick diplomacy already in place...
(see my posts under the other thread)
http://www.jihadwatch.org/archives/018912.php#comments

What do you mean the James Baker take is the only one accurate? You do not believe Bush is trying to establish a Palestinian terrorist state dedicated to Israel's annihilation?

What then is this Annapolis gang rape all about?

"Unlike Bush, he does not couch his Jew-hatred in flattering, meaningless phrases like "I am going to stand by Israel."

...and you know this...how?

"Bush likes to give us all these soothing, smooth phrases. "Israel is our friend. I'm going to stand by Israel....America's special relationship with Israel precedes and transcends the peace process," etc. All meaningless platitudes."

...and you're basing your conclusion on...?
...as opposed to...?

"Bush has it in his heart to destroy the Jewish state."

...and you assume this...HOW...???

"Bush is with the jihadists; he, his father and his friends; James f*&% the Jews Baker III, and other close family friends."

...and your sources are...?

As I said, the only one ya got remotely accurate was James Baker.
ASSumptions are the mother of all f**kups, and you ASSume a great deal, based on the unmistakable emotion-over-logic suppositions you made, sounding more like being based on predisposition than being based on logical thought process.
Such erroneous conclusions don't help anything, especially with no sources to back them up...otherwise, they're just words.

Look. Everybody here who's on the same page, specially if you're NOT Israeli. Get on over to Haaretz and Jerusalem Post (especially the political blogs - Kramer et al), and every other online Jewish Israeli news outlet.

Find every story that relates to Annapolis. And post in the comments section. Reference Bat Yeor, Robert Spencer, Andrew Bostom (advertise his new book on Islamic anti-semitism; quote some of his articles on same); mention Khadduri "The Law of War and Peace in Islam", Antoine Fattal, Joseph Schacht.

Explain hudna and Treaty of Hudaybiyya (give page references from The Truth About Muhammad, say) over and over and over again. Mention 'darura', too.

Talk about jizya and Jihad and dhimmitude and define them. It's a challenge - each comment, in the JPost, cannot be longer than 250 words (you've got more room in commenting on the blogs).

Make sure that EVERY STORY relating to the Lesser Jihad, as Hugh calls it; and to the Fast (Hamas) and Slow (Fatah) Jihads, gets an informed comment that will point anyone who reads it, to at least one source of further information.

The JPost moderates their comments, and they DON'T delete comments that refer to Robert Spencer. I know. Because I've posted comments that mention his name, and his books. You can mention Bat Yeor, and not get deleted.

Draft your comment separately; think Robert's style (cool, calm, collected, just the facts ma'am - the 250-word-limit helps enormously for that); count to ten; re-read; and...post. Drop your pebble in the well.

It all adds up. Over and over - keep explaining - It's the Jihad.

Similar letters to the editor, to newspapers all over the non-Muslim world, would also be in order. Winston Churchill's quote about the appeaser who feeds others to the crocodile, hoping to be eaten last, is wonderfully apposite.

So What. So the Saudi's are going to go Home with indigestion. Good, Tell them to leave the Booze and Whores where they are.

I really do not see where the Isralies will leave the Farm even if Olmert tries to sell it.

I can't wait for Annapolis to start. I wasn't around for Munich in 1938 so now I'll get to see the remake. And this will be more interesting because back then at least the Czechs weren't eager for the mutilation of their country.

jcom972, you are an unregenerate fawning Bush apologist. I cannot help you.

ISLAMSFORLOSERS,
There are plenty of Jews both inside and outside of Israel that are not eager to see Bush and Olmert mutilate the Holy Land. Olmert is a traitor. Bush is treacherous.

FROM WND'S JERUSALEM BUREAU
Did God send Katrina
as judgment for Gaza?
Eerie parallels between forced evacuations spark speculation

JERUSALEM – While most religious authorities seem to agree one cannot discern the intentions of God, there has been talk in some circles here and on the Internet that the storm that turned parts of the Gulf Coast into a disaster zone, prompting hundreds of thousands to evacuate their homes and possibly causing upwards of 10,000 deaths, was thrust upon the U.S. for its support of the Gaza evacuation.

"Katrina is a consequence of the destruction of [Gaza's] Gush Katif [slate of Jewish communities] with America's urging and encouragement," Rabbi Avraham Shmuel Lewin, executive director of the Rabbinic Congress for Peace, told WND. "The U.S. should have discouraged Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon from implementing the Gaza evacuation rather than pushing for it and pressuring Israel into concessions."

Lewin is one of many rabbis in Israel and abroad who have been making similar statements both in private and in speeches to their congregations.

Rabbi Joseph Garlitzky, head of the international Chabad Lubavitch movement's Tel Aviv synagogue, recounted for WND a pulpit speech he gave this past Sabbath:

"We don't have prophets who can tell us exactly what are God's ways, but when we see something so enormous as Katrina, I would say [President] Bush and [Secretary of State Condoleezza] Rice need to make an accounting of their actions, because something was done wrong by America in a big way. And here there are many obvious connections between the storm and the Gaza evacuation, which came right on top of each other. No one has permission to take away one inch of the land of Israel from the Jewish people......"

http://www.aijac.org.au/updates/Dec-00/211200.htm

Responding to a request by the American Jewish Committee to spell out his views on Israel and Middle East peace (a request also made of, and fulfilled by, Vice President Gore), Governor Bush issued a ringing endorsement of a close U.S.-Israel relationship, making it clear that he would "always stand with Israel," not attempt to "make Israel conform to [Washington's] own plans and timetables" for peace, and would "never interfere in Israeli elections." (See D. Gold, Fight for Jerusalem, pg. 10)

The Governor went even further, telling AJC: "My support for Israel is not conditional on the outcome of the peace process. America's special relationship with Israel precedes and transcends the peace process. And Israel's adversaries should know that in my administration, this special relationship will continue even if they cannot bring themselves to make true peace with the Jewish state. Something else will happen when I take office in January 2001: I will set in motion immediately the process of moving the U.S. ambassador to the city Israel has chosen as its capital, Jerusalem.

Ummm, your mental projection is showing...
...and I wasn't apologizing for Bush...as your hypersensitive emotional-ridden hysteria is what needs help.
Making egregious conclusions based on feeling like you did doesn't help anything, and only makes you look like the hyperkook ideologue you are.
emotion-over-logic as the take you displayed is infantile...and your ASSumptions based on emotion are evident.
Critique is one thing...the outrageously ridiculous and idiotic accusation (bush=jew=hater) you made is nothing less than bearing false witness against another.

Take a laxative for that sphincter problem you obviously suffer from...and get something special- like a clue...and a life.

Ummm, your mental projection is showing...>>>

George W. Bush claims to be a bible-believing, born again Christian who prays to God for moral guidance on a daily basis. You tell me where the man stands. Bear with me:

Mat 12:30 "He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me scatters.

Gen 12:1 Now the LORD said to Abram, "Go forth from your country, And from your relatives And from your father's house, To the land which I will show you;

And I will make you a great nation, And I will bless you, And make your name great; And so you shall be a blessing;

Gen 12:3 And I will bless those who bless you, And the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed."

Gen 12:7 The LORD appeared to Abram and said, "To your descendants I will give this land."

"I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your descendants after you.

"I will give to you and to your descendants after you, the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God."

"I will gather all the nations And bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat. Then I will enter into judgment with them there On behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, Whom they have scattered among the nations; And they have divided up My land."

jcom972, if Bush is not an enemy of the God of Israel, what is he?

A chess player, someone with a lot more intel access than you are, and apparently knows more of Sun Tzu than even I thought...
...which doesn't answer the fact: you bore false witness against him-a major no-no in the same book you're using to evade the issue you just got caught in....
...you said he was a jew-hater, which is a lie...he is a lot of things, and even pulls some really really stupid stunts, but "jew-hater"? no...
...and your diversionaries to evade being called on it aren't cutting it.

"Beware the man of railing speech-heap no wood upon his fire"
"Take no counsel with a fool-for he can keep nothing to himself."
(Sirach/Ecclesiasticus, one of the 7 Sapiential Books, canon 1391AD)
(Special note to my colleagues who are Protestant-not to be confused with Ecclesiastes, you know this one better as one of the books of "The Apochrypha", the books we never removed from ours)
English translation: "Never waste your time arguing with an idiot".
Sometimes I wonder why I'm wasting mine, too...lol

Now...back to topic...
As predicted, there's an artifice at work...
if this is so seemingly fallacious, then why is hamas so freaked out over the "talks"? (rhetorical)
http://www.iht.com/articles/2007/11/26/africa/mideast.php
and the other arab countries, despite their rhetoric of pessimism,
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071126/ap_on_re_mi_ea/mideast_summit_arabs
even bother to show up at all?

It's "put up or shut up" time, for THEM-forcing their "peace" rhetoric into more than lame hypocritical words (which they've done for decades),
now either they put up their words into practice, or fall by the wayside when all hell breaks loose, as they're documented hypocrites to the rest of the world, and whose rhetoric afterwards will fall on deaf ears as unimportant (being unimportant in islam is as if being dead).

Classic stratagem & artifice on our part.
Sun Tzu would be proud.
;-)

...you said he was a jew-hater, which is a lie...he is a lot of things, and even pulls some really really stupid stunts, but "jew-hater"? no...>>>>

George W. Bush's savior said "he who is not with me is against me."

I've given you the scripture, the prophecy; God's word.

Answer my question. Is Bush with Israel or against Israel? Is Bush with his Jewish savior or against him?

Is Bush with God's people --- faithful Jews and Christians who love God's word --- or is he against God's people?

You said he was a "jew hater"
You give your own hypocrisy by hiding behind scripture, not invoking it.
You bore false witness against another without any basis in fact...not even close.
You are not only a liar who bore false witness but a hypocrite as well...since obviously he's not doing it the way YOU want him to (which is malignant narcissism on your part)...you're beyond arrogance.

So unless YOU can answer to what YOU FIRST wrought, don't be asking ANYone ANYthing...you lost that priviledge the moment you bore false witness...and cannot back it up logically, or even emotionally as your entire context unmistakably has proven to be.

Get a clue...and a life, before playing the big leagues, kid.

From the introductory blurb: "The concessions are coming entirely from Israel, with jihadist intransigence looking to be rewarded once again."

This is very worrying. Next month we'll have most Western countries supporting the creation of an Islamist state in the heart of Europe -Kosovo - and now we're seeing Israel making concession after concession -with NOTHING in return - so that yet another Islamist state can be created.

The Jews of Iraq are no more, same with Kosovo, and now it's Israel's turn.

Very very worrying.
