The Los Angeles Police Department announced plans Thursday to map Muslim communities, hoping to identify people who might be liable to succumb to -- as Deputy Chief Michael P. Downing put it -- “violent, ideologically based extremism.” Downing said that the LAPD would work with a Muslim partner, and added: “We want to know where the Pakistanis, Iranians and Chechens are so we can reach out to those communities.”The ACLU of Southern California, an association of Muslim lawyers called Muslim Advocates, the Islamic Shura Council of Southern California and the Council on American Islamic Relations wrote to Downing that “singling out individuals for investigation, surveillance, and data-gathering based on their religion constitutes religious profiling that is just as unlawful, ill-advised and deeply offensive as racial profiling.” And also, “the mapping of Muslim communities...seems premised on the faulty notion that Muslims are more likely to commit violent acts than people of other faiths.”
Of course they aren’t: that’s why we see Presbyterians blowing themselves up in crowded restaurants, Buddhists flying planes into buildings, and Amish waving placards crowing that they will soon dominate the world. The mapping of Muslim communities is sensible in light of the violent acts committed around the world -- over 9,000 separate attacks since 9/11-- in the name of Islam. But political correctness has kept law enforcement officials (and the media) from asking the hard questions they should ask of Muslim leaders in the United States. Absurdities abound. One police official lamented: “We’ll come back from a Kumbayah meeting with a local mosque and realize that these guys who just agreed to help us are in our terror files!” Cleveland Muslim leader Fawaz Damra signed the Fiqh Council of North America’s condemnation of terrorism -- and was later deported for failing to disclose his ties to terrorist groups. Damra was never expelled from his communities in Brooklyn, New York, or Cleveland despite having said at a 1989 Islamic conference that “the first principle is that terrorism, and terrorism alone, is the path to liberation.”Peaceful American Muslims have not moved to expose, expel, or separate themselves from those who hold such sentiments. There is no wall of separation in the American Muslim community between Muslims who accept American pluralism and want to live ordinary lives and those who hold to the ideology of jihad and the subjugation of infidels held by Osama bin Laden. And authorities have not investigated the presence of such sentiments at all, despite the fact that they could be a reliable indicator of who might commit violent acts in the future and who might not.
Are there really jihadist sympathizers in American mosques? Yes. Sahim Alwan, a onetime leader of the Yemeni community in Lackawanna, New York and president of the mosque there, has the distinction of being the first American to attend an Al Qaeda training camp. Maher Hawash’s transition from secular Intel exec to jihadist was accompanied by an increase in his Islamic fervor and frequent mosque attendance.
This doesn’t mean that every Muslim in the United States is secretly plotting a jihad attack. But would it really be wise to risk everything on the assumption that none are?
The outrage of the ACLU and the Muslim groups over “the faulty notion that Muslims are more likely to commit violent acts than people of other faiths” founders on the fact that many Muslim groups have actually declared their desire to commit violent acts in the United States. We would be foolish -- suicidally so -- not to take all necessary steps to protect ourselves accordingly. If American Muslim groups were genuinely concerned about the unfair targeting of Muslims, they could direct their efforts to making concerted efforts to work with law enforcement officials to identify and apprehend jihadists in the United States, and to turn Muslims in America away from the jihad ideology and Islamic supremacism.
The fact that they do not do this, and instead work against genuine efforts to protect this country from a catastrophic attack, is revelatory. Despite their complaints, this mapping should continue, and expand.

What is faulty about that notion? Isnt jihad said to be the 6th pillar of the Islamic faith?
And since 1993 (date arbitrary you can go earlier), havent those who claimed to be Muslim committed atrocities and when they have voiced their reasons they said they were doing it because of Islam?
Their argument is based on conflating culture and race. They call it racism because they know that will bring a lot of legal protection on board. They know this is not about race. It is about culture; it is culturism.
Culturism holds that protecting the majority culture is a legitimate policy consideration. In the book a Declaration of Cultural Rights is proposed. In the meantime, we can learn by contrasting the compliant behavior of the Japanese during WW II who knew individual rights require a working society and loved America and so complied with the vision of non-culturally based absolute individual rights model to which the muslim community is asserting. People have forgotten that rights only result from a unique society willing and able to create them. Unlike the Japanese, Muslims are not showing much concern for protecting America.

Take a look, to start with, at Robert Spencer's discussion of Sura 9 today. Read it, and then go back and read what he has written so far about the contents of the Qur'an. Now, on-line, find the Calcutta Koran Petition, and read all the verses in the Qur'an that might naturally prompt a Believer to regard with hostility, or even mureerous hatred, non-Believers in Islam, or Infidels. Find the verses in the Qur'an that reinforce that message. Now find all those that counsel sweetness-and-light, gentle-Jesus-meek-and-mild stuff, turning-the-other-cheeck, the Sermon on the Mount, things like that. Can you find them? Where?
Now do the same for the Hadith -- the Hadith ranked as most "authentic" by the most authoritative muhaddithin.
And then take a look at the Sira, the Muslim life of Muhammad, that Model of Conduct, uswa hasana, that Perfect Man, al-insan al-kamil. Look at what Muhammad did with the prisoners of the Banu Qurazya. Look at the pleasure he expressed at news of the deaths of Asma bint Marwan and Abu Akaf. Look at how he ordered, for the sake of booty, the attack on the inoffensive Jewish farmers of the Khaybar Oasis. Look at the agreement he made with the Meccans in 628 A.D., at Hudaibiyya, and at how he behaved 18 months after signing that 10-year treaty. Look, look, look.
Now look again at the phrase from the article quoted above.
It has one gross error, one terrible fault or fault-line, and if one wished to save the entire teeter-tottering faulty tower from collapse, one must remove one word.
Can you guess what that word is?

Why don't Muslims want to live in their own Islamic countries?
A simple question, yet always an outrage to pose that simple question to a Muslim. Why? Because answering it would mean they'd have to praise the West over the ME and Allah Forbid that should ever happen.
Yes; how did we gather such fauly notions? Is everything we see,we hear,and we read faulty information? How did so many of us aquire so much misinformation over the years about Muslims? Oh that's right; we are misinterpreting the Quran because we don't speak Arabic,never mind that 85 Pct of the worlds Muslims Don't speak Arabic either.
Always playing the victim as Muslims are being singled out because law enforcement was given some faulty information. 500,000 Muslims in Southern California, but how many will step forward and show their concerns that there may be radical elements among them? Or will the Muslim community and their Muslim action groups work to keep the cool aid drinking dhimmis' on their side.
I remember a few weeks after 9-11 in LA how some clerics past out a little pocket pamphlet showing about a dozen peaceful Suras, I still have that pamphlet and it now disgusts me to read what a sham it was when compared to what is really written in the Quran, and the hadiths.
Are we really to believe that most Muslims practice what Mohammed preached on his way to Mecca and ignore the next 13 years of preaching let alone how he changed to become violent on his trip to Medina?

JALALABAD, Afghanistan (AFP) - More than 1,000 university students demonstrated in eastern Afghanistan Sunday to demand the death penalty for an official accused of insulting the Koran, police and witnesses said.
The attorney general's spokesman, former journalist Mohammad Ghaws Zalmai, was arrested at the Pakistan border a week ago trying to flee after being accused of misinterpreting the Muslim holy book in a new translation.
"Death to Ghaws Zalmai!" shouted the angry mob in the eastern town of Jalalabad, an AFP reporter in the crowd said. "We want him hanged!"
"He has insulted our religion and must be killed," the group said.
The conservative parliament last week banned Zalmai from leaving the country days after the distribution of about 6,000 copies of his Dari-language translation, called "Koran-i-Pak" or "clean Koran"...
Bottom line is that the so-called "vast majority" of Muslims who wish to enjoy the fat-happy existence the West provides for them ARE harboring radical jihadists in their midst. They know it, we know it. Little men in ones and twos hiding under the skirts of their hundred "peaceful" breathren ready to pounce and slit the throats of the infidels whenever the time is right.
The indignation and incredulity that arises from these groups every time we attempt to root out the terrorists is no longer just infuriating.
These groups are no longer just a hindrance. They are COMPLICIT with the acts of the terrorists. And when the blood inevitably flows again, it is directly on their hands as though they themselves did the cutting.
I think that all we need to know is that these verses below are still in force and that carrying them out is an obligation on a believing muslim to this day. What else do we need to know?

Islam is not a "faith"; if it were truly a faith, then it would trust God to do the judging, rather than them taking it upon themselves to do the judging.
The Bible says "Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord". Christianity really is a faith, because we leave it to God to execute vengeance on the enemies of God.
By the way, "the Book" (the Bible) says to leave vengeance in the hands of God. The Koran admits that the Bible is "the Book". Why, then, do Muslims reject it as authoritative? This is a MAJOR contradiction in Islam.
"Peaceful" muslims = ones who haven't committed a violent act in the name of Islam - YET.

Shouldn't the relevant police departmenent have checked its 'terror files' BEFORE accepting--or rejecting--the local mosque's Kumbayah invite?

Muhammad and the Quran "Profile" all non-Muslims and enemies of islam and valid targets for murder if they fail to covert or pay the Tax in a Caliphate .
Hooper has a helluva nerve to validate the 19 hijackers on 9/11/01 as Muslims that Perverted islam but are still Muslims , and yet now CAIR opposes Profiling which is exactly what the Hijackers did to all the non-Muslim civilians that could have numbers 30'000 if the remaining workers hadn't of panicked and fled Tower 2 from their gut-feeling of a pending additional Terrorism attack.
CAIR also Profiles female Muslims by their intimidation to shun most non-Hijab wearing Muslims as un-true followers like they do to Irshad Manji and Hersi Ali , plus CAIR uses Hijab clad females in most of the promo-PSA's video and CAIR infers to Afro-Americans that Islam is their true Roots from Africa .
What LAPD should have done is quietly mapped out a area for "Targetted" groups that are at risk for "Backlash-Crimes" as a minority that may become an Scapegoat for Bigotry and revenge towards Racial groups.
Then , let this info leak out to the internet and have the ACLU and CAIR find out which will trigger the "Outrage" to exclude Muslims and them Hooper can go on FOX or CNN to demand the LAPD Police the Muslim race as well.
TADA.......Hooper falls for it and the LAPD get to Patrol the Mosques at night and record Car Plates and watch who goes in and out of the Mosque in case Illegals are being protected and actually live there .
