Now that's starting the New Year off RIGHT!

You said it, Darcy!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Isabella!

Just one thing. Spencer is an expert on Islam, not radical Islam, whatever that is.

Also, each bio must include whether the participant is fluent in Arabic, medieval Arabic in particular.

LOL. Really.

Oh yes, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too, Miss Darcy! And same to my beloved Alarmed Pig Farmer. (I've already got my Christmas ham! Yum!)

Militant Islam, Radical Islam = pure Islam.

Lot of Islamaphobes in one place, wonder how much security will cost.....importing Muslims is expensive.

Here is copy of a letter I sent to the America Truth Forum:

In an attempt to do a service to the country by gathering all these learned critics of Islamic jihad, you do a great disservice by using the title "Exposing the Threat of Islamic Terrorism".

Why do you feel it necessary to use the term "terrorism" when everyone on that panel (excpet Hedgecock and Gaffney) knows that the correct term that identifies the threat is global jihad?

There is great importance in choosing the correct word that identifies the threat the west faces. Using terms such as "terrorism" conjures visions of turbaned gunslingers, big explosions, and random acts of violence (such as the sudden jihad syndrome malady). Using the word "terrorism" also suggests that the public's attention need only be focused on a separate, distinct and clearly identifiable segment of the ummah, when, in fact, the threat comes from a much wider profile. Will CAIR and the Muslim Brotherhood be mentioned at your symposium? Of course they will. Are they violent terrorists? No. Do they threaten our security as much as Al Qeada, the Taliban, Hamas and Fatah or Jamaat ul-Fuqra ? Of course they do. You might as well invite Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton to speak since they too have a great many things to observe about "terrorists".

In your attempt to spread valuable information you are confusing the public with the misnomer. The word to describe the enemy correctly is global jihadists. It is not an offensive description. It is referenced many times throughout the Koran. It is used by muslims to describe themselves ("Islamic Jihad" in Gaza and Lebanon). It is major part of all five schools of Islamic jurispriudence.

If a distinquished group of scholars and critics of jihad such those listed in the symposium brochure misidentify the enemy as limited to only "terrorists" and therefore are unable to name to threat correctly, there is no reason to expect that common sense solutions to the problem will be offered.

Sincerely,

Christmas is a magical time. More of a surrounding spirit than a holiday, especially when there's deep snow on the ground, and ice on the lakes to reflect the brilliant stars in the clear night sky.

Merry Christmas to both of you ladies.

Can I take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas (shove your "Happy Holidays" where the sun don't shine!) and a Happy and prosperous New Year. Keep up the good fight in 2008.
Yours in friendship, where ever you are-
Rookie.
P.S.
Thanks for all I have learned from you guys.

USorThem, spot on and I agree with you whole heartedly.

In fact, I would go as far as to say that distingusing followers of islam into moderates, fundamentalists, jihadis, terrorists etc is misleading. There is only one islam and all its followers believe in the same doctrine.

The correct (and brave) title of this symposium ought to have been:
Exposing the Threat of Islam.

Merry Christmas to all the JW crew.
BTW, my Kaspersky security detected a keylogger on the website for the ranch, be careful.

I like this. "Global Jihadists" it is for me from now on.

Also very good, and spot on.

Sorry, I don't know why all of these repeats of my posts.

USorThem,

I wholeheartedly agree with the point you made in your letter. I, too, think that "Global Jihad" is an accurate and fully-inclusive tag for the threat we face today from totalitarian, supremacist Islam.
