SYDNEY (AFP) - A Pakistan-born architect convicted of plotting a "jihad" or holy war bombing campaign in Australia had his appeal dismissed in a Sydney court Thursday.Faheem Khalid Lodhi was sentenced to 20 years jail in August 2006 after a jury found him guilty of planning to blow up the electrical grid in Australia's biggest city.
Lodhi, who immigrated in the mid-1990s and holds Australian citizenship, was convicted of preparing for a terrorist act by seeking information about chemicals capable of making explosives.
He was also found guilty of possessing a "terrorism manual" and of buying two maps of the Sydney electricity grid in preparation for a terrorist act.
Lodhi denied the charges.
Prosecutors linked Lodhi to Frenchman Willie Brigitte, who was deported from Australia in late 2003 and subsequently convicted in France of plotting a major attack in Sydney.

Strip Lodhi of his Australian citizenship. Give him a one-way ticket to Pakistan. If Pakistan doesn't want to keep him, tough.
But you know the Afghan-Pakistani 'Australian' Muslim that I want investigated? - a fellow named Abdul Khan who established the Darwin mosque and is now based in Alice Springs where he's built a mosque (of course). He came to Australia in the 1970s. He spent years working for our government as a geologist! - sussing out northern Australia - WHICH INCLUDES MOST OF THE PLACES WHERE WE KEEP OUR URANIUM. He knows EXACTLY where we are most vulnerable.
I read a puff piece about him in a newspaper - National Indigenous Times - that specialises in Indigenous affairs.

He was presented as a nice guy, butter wouldn't melt in his mouth, who runs a rehab outfit for Native Australians who need to get off the grog. But to me everything about him screams 'sleeper mole!' - for god's sake, the man was born in Afghanistan, came through Pakistan, into Australia. And in the 1970s nobody from Afghanistan/ Pakistan had a university degree unless they came from a seriously rich family.
If any investigative reporters, Australian, English or American, are reading this - PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE start looking at the antecedents and financial, familial and social connections of Mr Abdul Khan of the Alice Springs mosque. Put him under the microscope.

I am in the process of drafting a letter to Senator Chris Evans (the new immigration minister) to try and convince him to see the jihadist threat for what it is. I am gathering evidence from Islamist websites to support it, but what we'll really need is signatures. LOTS of them. Once I'm done, I'll post a link on the next article about Australia on JW. Please circulate it around and get as many as you possibly can.

Send the letters and signatures to the Defence Minister, Police Minister and Education MInister as well - and to their Shadows on the opposition bench.
ALL sitting members in both state and federal parliament have got to be educated.
Each of us Aussies here has to make it our duty to try to educate our elected representatives. I have been working on letters for the new PM and relevant members of cabinet. It's difficult to try to work out how much to say, so it's taking me awhile.
I'll sign off on your letter once it's ready, but will send my own as well.

Oh if it was only so simple...
Our constitution doesn't support stripping of citizenship unless someone lied to obtain it.
And does anyone in their right mind think that with the new lefty socialist government we now have in Canberra they will do anything about it?
