Gordon Brown wants to talk with the Taliban

“Sometimes you have to talk to the enemy, but Gordon Brown has got to be careful he is not placing too much emphasis on doing a deal with people who are unwilling or unable to deliver.”

"Government backs Taliban talks," by Rob Winnett in the Telegraph (thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist):

Britain is understood to have given the green light to President Hamid Karzai to undertake talks with Taliban militants as part of a long-term strategy to bring peace in Afghanistan.

The controversial announcement, which is likely to meet resistance from American hardliners, is now seen as essential amid intense fighting in the war-torn country with the prospect of British troops becoming tied up for more than a decade.

The Prime Minister is due to set out a new long term strategy for Afghanistan today after visiting the country earlier this week.

He will reveal a new “three-pronged strategy” with the establishment of security by Nato and the Afghan army to be followed by economic and political development.

The most controversial part of the strategy is the proposal to hold formal discussions with the Taliban – with the aim of dividing forces opposing British troops, splitting local Afghan fighters from militants linked to al-Qa'eda.

Tory defence spokesman Gerald Howarth said: “Sometimes you have to talk to the enemy, but Gordon Brown has got to be careful he is not placing too much emphasis on doing a deal with people who are unwilling or unable to deliver.”

This report says that it's only former Afghani insurgents that the Brits will talk to.

Good old Dhimmi Brown. like any amount of talking will stop these barbarians, unfortunately for gordon they only understand the gun! but that won't stop him bending over backwards to pay the jizya!!

Sadly all this takes attention away from the fact that tomorrow Gordon Brown will sign away much of Britain's sovereignty to the EU. There will an EU Foreign Minister who dictates foreign policy for the whole of Europe, God save us all.

Brown may talk all he likes. Maybe the Taliban will actually agree to what he wants. Then after a while it'll be back to normal for them, because a mere infidel won't stand in the way of this bunch's quest to create their Koranic utopia.

Someone needs to inform Brown what the word hudna means, because that's the best he'll get from such pathological liars and murderers.

And I held out hope that England would be a hold out against the EU. But since She has already begun Her submission to the muslims, this actually makes sense. My condolences to all those in England who wish to maintain their English identity.

Obviously no-one has learned you don't negotiate with scum, even "reformed" scum. These so called former Taliban members may have given up taking the fight directly to the US, UK and those fighting in Afghanistan, but they will not have given up their beliefs. Arafat and others have been given spots at various conference tables, not much change has happened. Muslims still feel it necessary to strap on the bomb vests as well as setting of car bombs, and launching rockets into civilian areas of Israel. No. There never was a time to negotiate with believers of a totalitarian "religion." I would no more negotiate with muslims to achieve peace than I would a debate a committed communist about economics. My time would be better spent slamming my head against a brick wall, progress would be measurable and meaningful.

..talk?....yeah, that will work....ask the Muslims...they will tell you so.....

DONT BE TO HAD ON GORDON, HE WAS NOT THE FIRST TO SIDE WITH THE MUSSELMAN

The infamy of executing this century's first full scale ethnic cleansing belongs to Turkey's Young Turk government during World War I. In their highest councils Turkish leaders decided to exterminate every Armenian in the country, whether a front-line soldier or pregnant woman, famous professor or high bishop, important businessman or ardent patriot. All 2,000,000 of them.

Democide had preceded the Young Turk's rule and with their collapse at the end of World War I, the successor Nationalist government carried out its own democide against the Greeks and remaining or returning Armenians. From 1900 to 1923, various Turkish regimes killed from 3,500,000 to over 4,300,000 Armenians, Greeks, Nestorians, and other Christians.

"The barbarian power, which has been for centuries seated in the very heart of the Old World, which has in its brute clutch the most famous countries of classical and religious antiquity and many of the most fruitful and beautiful regions of the earth; and, which, having no history itself, is heir to the historical names of Constantinople and Nicaea, Nicomedia and Caesarea, Jerusalem and Damascus, Nineva and Babylon, Mecca and Bagdad, Antioch and Alexandria, ignorantly holding in its possession one half of the history of the whole world."

I hope I am wrong but this is inevitable. It is easy to defeat Taliban, but impossible to keep them under control or democratize them. This offer itself indicates the failure of west to 'reform' the followers of religion of peace. Many times I feel that the main reason West is not ready to give up on them is residual of their unconscious Christian conditioning of saing the savage by transforming them into civilised societies. What infidels (non islamic countries) can do is to protect and consolidate their own houses, and try their best against Islamization of their societies by following various suggestions prescribed by Robert.

Have read bewildering Gordon [the clown] Brown's
speeches, each contradicting the other. You can imagine one of his Spin Doctors saying "Speak to
the Taleban-that will get you more Left & Muslim votes.."
"Hey, we were wrong-you just look weak.."
"I know-you can say you will talk to the Taleban
who accept Democracy..."
Anything really if Brown can fend attention away from mystery of vanishing disks with personal details of most U.K population on ém[even more disks have suddenly been lost-Martians perhaps?]
& his cowardly signing of E.U Treaty without allowing voters to have their say...So much for
DEMOCRACY,eh-no wonder Afghans & Iraqis aren't keen.
No doubt the Taleban will TALK, they will even
AGREE especially as NATO will reward them with
CASH if they pretend to change sides. But an INFIDEL is always an INFIDEL as the Prophet[PBUH]
said way back in the 6th century. It is certainly
permitted to lie to these unclean creatures, take
their filthy money [and anything else] before bombing or decapitating them the next day...

.....................

See, that's the impediment to peace.

Not the horrendously brutal and fanatical resurgent Taliban, but American "hardliners".

I think we should talk to the Taliban and all those other groups. We should say "EAT LEAD SUCKAS!"
