Tehran, 11 Dec. (AKI) - A 48-year-old man with two children faces death by stoning in Iran after he was accused of having had extra-marital sex.Iran's Supreme Court has sentenced Abdollah Farivar Moghaddam to death by stoning in the city of Sari, in the north of the country.
Abdollah was accused of adultery and the Supreme Court confirmed the sentence that was passed by the judges in the tribunal in Sari.
In March, another man was stoned in the city of Ghazvin, which is about 100 kilometres from the capital Tehran....
Can somebody clarify this for me? I thought that, under Islam, sex crimes like this required four witnesses to the dirty deed, which is why rape is so hard to prove. Was this guy performing for an audience or what?

We are told that there are no gays in Iran, but apparently they do have adulterers. They do not seem as shy about openly killing adulterers as they do gays. I guess this is not as embarassing for them as admitting that there are actually gays in Iran. Nothing like stoning someone to death to prove how peaceful and non-judgemental you religion is!
