The article mentions that the family has been in England for two generations. So it is clear that they don't hold English society dear, and have cast it out of their lives. Why did they ever want to come to England in the first place if they prefer to live as 7th-c barbarians?
The article also mentions that she is one of seven sisters. It doesn't say how many of her sisters have also gone back to the Old Country to get husbands, or how many of them have returned to England with their new hubbies (and probably a bunch of in-laws) in tow. Of course, maybe she's the oldest sister.

But the question that I have been wrestling with ever since I started reading the Qur'an is one of definition.
Is Islam really a religion?
I ask this question because there doesn't seem to be any (or very much) religion in the Qur'an. For example, the New Testament seems to have parables, moral stories (I'm thinking of "The Good Samaratian) and spirtual questions.
"Consider the lilies of the field, they toil not yet......." Just this phrase urges us to contemplate the divine by observing flowers in a field. Buddhism has similiar sentiments.
There is none of this in the Qur'an. It is a work full of the carrot and stick approach. If you submit to Allah, you can get all these great things in paradise. If you don't, all the horrors of hell (and these are gone into with great relish) await not just you but anyone who does not submit to Allah.
I suppose you could call Islam a cult, but I really feel that it has morphed into a political ideology with "divine" sanction.

As Grizlybear points out, hymens can be broken by exercise. They can also be broken by using tampons. In addition, many girls are not born with full hymens--there is a lot of natural variation.
About thirty years ago this was a fairly common "Dear Abby" question--"I didn't bleed on my wedding night--but I was a virgin!" Abby gently assured them that many women do not bleed at all with their first experiance.

Well, I believe in the tenets and the prophecies of my faith, which is Catholicism. Having said that, I look at what the Muslims do with interest because there are similarities to end times prophecies and Muslim behavior.
I believe that Islam is the devil's ultimate dream come true on this earth. He got close to it with Communism but the fit is practically perfect with Islam. Here we have a so called "god", Allah, who talks out of both sides of his mouth. So did his prophet, but then I've always believed that Mohammad borrowed heavily from the Old and New Testaments to make up his "religion" and just tossed out the parts he didn't like. (I also think it's pretty obvious he wasn't thinking with his big head when he made up most of it.) Islam did morph into a religion, albeit, a Satanic one, and here's why. If Allah and God are the same being then why does he contradict himself? Why are we told in the Bible to love our neighbors as ourselves, turn the other cheek, if someone takes your coat, give him your cloak as well, don't kill, don't steal, don't lie. Why are we told to forgive our brother 70 X 7 times, to feed the poor and help widows and orphans and then in the Koran people are told to kill the unbelievers where you find them, don't have sex with married women who aren't your wife, unless you own them, force people to convert to Islam, it's okay to lie to spread Islam, etc? I mean if we just took a sheet of paper, drew a line down the middle and did a compare/contrast analysis on Christianity vs. Islam, it is beyond obvious that these two belief systems couldn't be more different.
But then we get down to the brass tacks. I once read that the smartest thing Satan did in the 20th century was convince people that he doesn't exist. Very clever indeed. I've also heard that Satan hates women because they can do the one thing he can't and that is bring forth life. I'm sure Satan would love to build an army of humans of his own from people he creates, but himself being a created being and not a god like he would like to think he is, he doesn't have that power. What's the next best thing? How about creating a "religion' where Satan is worshiped five times a day, where he tells his followers that women will inhabit hell, that they are stupid, that their testimony is worth only half of a man's, that they must be ready for sex at any time of the day or night and if they don't give it up, the angels will curse them until morning (LOL!) and where they can be killed at any man in the family's whim and the men in the Sharia judicial system won't do anything about it? Also, convincing generations of Muslim men that it is of paramount importance to commit suicide, which in my faith gets you a one way ticket to hell because God is the author of our lives and we don't have the right to take it away, only He does. What could be more self serving to Satan than to have God's creatures who He loves, lose their souls so they have to spend eternity with Satan, not God. Wouldn't that be the biggest F.U. to God from Satan?
Another reason why Satan hates women is because it is foretold in the Bible that the woman shall crush the serpent's head. In exorcisms performed in Germany in the early 1980's, demons referred to the Blessed Mother as the woman. They are deathly afraid of her because of the power that Jesus her Son has given her.
Also, the main component of Islam is it's pre-occupation with world domination, a goal the devil has always wanted to attain and indeed is prophesied in end times with the anti-Christ ruling the world for 3 1/2 years, all bowing down to him and those who won't suffering martyrdom and worse. Islam demands with pride (another hallmark of Satan) that we accept and submit to it's tenets. It is willing to kill you and even kill it's own members to attain this, which is the exact opposite of what the Gospels teach.
The other component of Islam is it's pre-occupation with male dominated sexual activity. Everything is geared to please the man and to enslave the woman when it comes to Muslim sexual practices. In fact, from the way women are portrayed in the Koran as being a temptation to men, as bringing them down and causing them to become mindless sexual attackers, and being the excuse for men behaving badly, one would think that Muslim men would be better off without women around. But therein lies the paradox: women are trouble and dangerous but you can't get off on a regular basis without one and you can't procreate and continue producing endless jihadists without them. And besides, they need someone to look after the kids. Since Satan isn't the evil wizard in Lord of the Rings, and since he can't create Orks from mud that can fight to take over the world for him, he has to do things the old fashioned way, and that requires women producing children. But what better way to take out one's hatred on woman than to make her a sex slave with no rights who can lose her children if her husband decides to divorce her. We never hear about that kind of human misery but it goes on all the time. (I used to know a Muslim man who did that very thing to his second wife and she only saw her son once every six months from the time he was two years old on.)

However, I recently had an encounter with a sociopath and I may have to reconsider. (Excellent book, "The Sociopath Next Door" - I've forgotten the author, but I bought my copy at Borders).
But given the track record of Islam, I think that you and I must make common cause against it, dispite what ever theological differences we may have.
