...and a belated Happy Hanukkah.
Christmas greetings are on-topic, for [1] Christmas is on the jihadists' to-do list of manifestations of jahiliyya -- un-Islamic ignorance -- to be eliminated once they get the chance. So, if you are so inclined, you can strike a blow for Western civilization by openly celebrating Christmas today.
Happy New Year, also. May we all continue to strive in 2008 to defend the civilization built by those who throughout history have celebrated these holy days, and to convince those who have forgotten or who have never recognized its value that this civilization indeed worth defending.
And now for a little more haram festivity. Jihad Watcher Isabella the Crusader sends along these Christmas gems:
[2] Karen Carpenter’s Little Altar Boy
[5] Bring a Torch, Jeanette Isabella – Instrumental by Gregg Miner
[6] Oh Holy Night –Swedish version
[7] Ave Maria
Hugh, meanwhile, has a few of his own:
[10] Cantique De Noel (Georges Thill)
[11] Holy Night (Jussi Bjorling)
[12] Holy Night (Luciano Pavarotti)
[13] Adeste Fideles (Jan Peerce)
[14] Adeste Fideles (Luciano Pavarotti)
[15] God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen (Giorgio Tozzi)
[16] Angels We Have Heard On High (Westminster Cathedral Chorus)
[17] Silent Night (Mahalia Jackson)
[18] White Christmas (Bing Crosby)
[19] Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer (Gene Autry)
And here, finally, from me:
[20] Blue Christmas (Elvis Presley)
[21] The Christmas Waltz (Frank Sinatra)
And finally, if you're more inclined to think it all humbug:
