In "Never Mind the Bomb, Beware of Islamofascism," Amil Imani discusses the belief-system that sets many Muslims against the rest of the world today:
The National Intelligence Estimate regarding Iran’s bomb project has stirred a great deal of controversy. Some say that there is now reason to abandon the war posturing and start negotiating a live-and-let-live deal with the Mullahs, since they have “abandoned” their quest for the bomb. At least that is what the not-so-reliable report seems to imply. Others, with good reason, remain skeptical of both the validity of the report and the ever-cheating, conniving Mullahs.This controversy aside, the irrefutable fact is that the Jihadist belief of Islam itself poses existential danger to the world. Beliefs energize and direct actions. Beliefs are as indispensable as the air we breathe. Even an atheist is a believer, with his own system of disbelief. Not believing in anything is mental breakdown. There is something about humans that demands a belief. A belief can be anything or a combination of many things; it can be well-defined and even rigid, or a loosely put together hodge-podge with considerable latitude. It can be magnificent or the most abhorrent. But, it has to be there. Beliefs steer our vehicles in the journey of life.

Islamofascism is a pandemic fiercely-promoted belief system that enjoys a huge advantage over the competition. Some of the reasons for Islamofascism longevity and success are listed below.
* It is a crusading belief. Early on, it forced itself by the sword and as time went on it employed any and all schemes to promote itself while destroying the competition.
* It mandates prolific procreation on the faithful. It allows a man to have as many as four wives concurrently, in part to cater to the lust of the men and in part to produce more children who would, in turn, swell its ranks.* It gets the first crack at imprinting its dogma on the blank slate of the child’s mind from the very first day of birth. The imprinting is usually deeply engrained and makes it difficult for the person to fully erase it, or replace it altogether. Even when successful, an ex-Muslim, or a “cultural” Muslim retains on his slate some traces of the early imprints. It may take more than one generation to fully erase the Islamic imprints.
* It does not allow anyone the choice of leaving its fold at the penalty of death for apostasy.* It holds that the earth is Allah’s and no non-Muslim is entitled to the same rights and privileges reserved for its own members. Even the “people of the book,” Jews and Christians, must pay the religious tax of jazyyeh to be allowed a subservient place under the Islamic rule.
* It campaigns ceaselessly at propagating itself by any and all means, while banning other religions from so doing. Islamic proselytizers invade the lands of the unbelievers and work relentlessly to convert others while non-Muslim faiths are even barred from having a place of worship in lands such as the cradle of Islam, Saudi Arabia.
* It is anathema to many of civilized humanity’s values, such as those enshrined in the first amendment of the Universal Declaration of the Human Rights.
* It is a caste system where the male believer enjoys valued privileges denied to all minorities, women and slaves. This discriminatory provision guarantees generation after generation of avowed in-power adherents who would shirk at nothing to maintain their privileged status granted to them by Allah.
* It is a powerful carrot-and-stick system of belief. It maintains its stranglehold on its obedient followers by promising them unimaginable compensations, if not in this world, then assuredly in the next, while anyone who strays from the mandated path is threatened with a raft of unending horrid torture from a vengeful Allah.
* The extortion-high oil prices that oil-rich Muslims extract from the addicted and oblivious non-Muslim world fuel the Islamic jihad throughout the world. Muslim kings, emirs and sheiks enjoy opulent life and aim to have it the same in Allah’s next world by funneling a portion of their huge parasitic income to madresehs (religious indoctrinating schools), mosques, storefront recruiting centers and charitable outlets that would enlist and hold masses of choiceless and fanatical believers. By funding these activities in the service of the jihadist Islam, these in-power Muslims believe that they can have it both ways: a material existence of great enjoyment here and an eternal life of hedonism in Allah’s promised paradise. In the bargain, these ringleader menaces of the world, aim to assuage their guilt feeling resulting from oppressing the impoverished exploited masses of Muslims with the delusion they are furthering Allah’s cause.
The danger of the bomb in the hands of the Mullahs has not disappeared, in spite of what the mainstream media and the Useful Idiots claim by misrepresenting the NIE report. The NIE guesses that the Mullahs seem to have ceased the construction of the warhead in 2003. How can the CIA be sure that this is the case and that the Mullahs are not secretly constructing it? Yet, the IRI, by its own admission, is on a crash program to develop long range missiles and operates cascades of centrifuges to make enriched weapon-grade uranium needed for the bomb.
The handwriting is on the wall. Huge numbers of Muslims, overwhelmingly poor, under-educated, and deeply indoctrinated in the jihadist belief are invading the world. It is this human bomb that must be diffused as well as keeping a vigilant eye on the other one that Iran’s Mullahs are relentlessly pursuing.
In short, never mind the nuclear bomb, if you like. But, we must do all we can to erase the suicide-homicide belief-vest that Islamofascists straps on their masses of the poor, the undereducated, and their deluded followers.
“Think globally, act locally,” is the rallying cry of the environmentalist movement. The same exhortation even more urgently applies to the fight against the deadly spread and menace of Islamofascism.
Exactly right.
It ain't the weapons, it's the Ideology.
Which is the thing that raises and points the weapons.
No believed-in Koran: no Jihad.
Strike at the root, not the tentacles.
The Koran must be debunked.
Dissected.
Dispersed.
Then the threat will dissipate.

Jihad is a struggle to make Islam rule supreme. Violence is incidentical, applied as needed, avoided when subversion of democratic institutions will do.
Related, I think it's the belief in Muhammad that really is the problem. His example destroys so much that is beautiful and valuable, everywhere.

The problem with Iran going nuclear derives from islam itself. We are poorly lead. The ultimate question is whether the west has the will to fight against multiculturalist fantasies and speak plainly about islam and its dysfunctions. While the world is being destroyed by muslims, those on the left pathetically see the major world problem as the world being destroyed by a old comic book story line (i.e. only Superman's dad Jor El can save Krypton because it is about to explode). But the other political side is equally reprehensible and exists in a fantasy world where it does not see how bizarro it excuses the bizarre. While ex presidents consistently accept 10 million dollar bribes (not just carter but bush's dad as well) for libraries and their foundations from Saudi Arabia (the Jews are ignorantly blamed for an excessive Washington lobby). The claim of our leaders that a peaceful islam has been hijacked by a tiny element of extremists shows the profound ignorance of our leaders of what islam is and what it is intending to be.
As incessantly pointed out by Mr. Robert Spencer, spiritual obedience to Allah is defined by by fourteen centuries of Islamic history and theology. There is no evidence that Islam can solve its war with the west. There is scant evidence that any muslims have found any way, or even shown any desire to do so. In fact, all the evidence of Islamic history and theology, not to mention the widespread continuing support for jihad among millions of Muslims worldwide suggest posterity will blame us for not rising up in arms immediately to these provocations to our way of life.
Only fools fail to observe that in about 56 countries vast segments of the population cast themselves as part of a greater Islamic community in opposition to the West.
Ideology drives the behavior we see, but having increasingly destructive weapons doesn't help matters. We're especially vulnerable because we're at the mercy of blind politicians who want to "build bridges of peace" to these barbarians. Our political correct postures encourage the enemy to attack abroad and here at home. A shooter with SJS at a mall is bad enough- God help us the day these people get nuclear weapons.
Increasingly these days, I don't believe the governments in the west have the gonads to fight multiculturalist fantasies and speak plainly about islam and is dysfunctions. The 'people in charge' either live in a fantasy world as to how this can be fixed, or are so beholden to the islamists that they won't take a stand. They won't stand against the ideology, so bigger and bigger weapons are trained on us. Nothing but a lose/lose situation.

The wise words of Amil Imani, Robert Spencer and many others will have to be accepted by a Democratic president and made a part of his policy. Until then, the media and the Left will denounce all such efforts and they will be for naught. Fighting radical Islam needs to become politically correct before it will gain traction.
Europeans need to see the Islamist threat for what it is.
Dar-al-harb needs to recognize itself in the mirror. Until we do, we'll continue lying to ourselves, believing that good will and the willingness to live and let live will be reciprocated by radical Islamists.
"Moderate" Muslims need to separate themselves from radical Islam without fear of condemnation. They need to be willing to reform Islam. But are they? Surely they have the numbers to triumph over the radicals, but do they have the will?

As I understand it, Sookhdeo is working as hard as he can not only to educate the general public (e.g. by an earlier book, "Islam in Britain"), but to educate Anglicans - I just spoke to someone who had heard him give a presentation on militant Islam, at an Anglican Church Missionary Society 'summer school' here in Australia last year, and from all accounts he pulled no punches. He's on the same page as Spencer, Bat Yeor and the rest. God bless him and protect him. Such 'defectors' from Islam to Christianity - specially when as vocal, clear-headed and strategically-placed as Bp Sookhdeo - are worth their weight in gold.
To any fellow Anglicans reading this - let's start a campaign to pray in Patrick Sookhdeo as the next Archbishop of Canterbury! End Anglican dhimmitude!
Indeed, we need resolute and vocal non-dhimmis at the helm of every branch of Christendom.
If we had such people, we could set a good example of non-dhimmitude to all other Infidels - to Jews (whom we should be resolutely supporting - every insult and injury a Muslim inflicts upon a Jew, should be viewed by Christians as if it were an insult and an injury inflicted upon Our Blessed Lord himself and his dear Mother and the twelve Apostles), and to Hindus, Buddhists, everyone.
My only disagreement with him is that not all of them are under-educated and poor. Even the smart, well-off ones can be full-fledged cultists.
