In a perfect world, or at least a country far better than Norway, Krekar would simply be imprisoned for sedition.
The Norwegian law noted in the article prohibits deportation to nations with a death penalty, as do many European countries. I wonder: Do any of you know if the same laws or others prohibit extradition to countries that have the death penalty?
At any rate, if the Norwegians can't get this guy one way or another, they're doomed. By all accounts and his own admission, Krekar is a certifiable, card-carrying jihadist.

my brother and his family live in central oslo. i was there in august and was shocked to see the many burkahs in downtown oslo.
i believe that norway is a far left socialist regime and hte people actually welcome the fact that their nation has an open door immigration policy. seems strange as only 4 million Norwegians, well probably 3 million and the oil revenue is being placed into a savings account for the future. guess who's going to get all that cash?

Norwegians must be very laid back people to tolerate the likes of this menace to society. If he is bad enough to deport, surely he's bad enough to imprison! In prison, his vile invective would be heard by only other inmates, most of whom are probably muslims. He would be right at home. It's sad when people become so "civilized" that they are helpless in the face of pure evil.
I'm sure any good European sociologist would vehemently disagree but this situation looks like a typical survival of the fittest scenario. When an entire nation is incapable of dealing with a deranged islamic sociopath because of some stupid death penalty issue, they are suicidal. Better them than him, I guess.

The foreign population in Norway is etimated to be around 7 percent. How many of those are muslims is unknown, but it's unlikely to be less than half.
It's not that people want the muslim migration. Opinion polls have consistently shown that people want the country to stay Norwegian. The last poll I saw showing that 69% wanted muslim migration to be restricted. Mullah Krekar is rather unpopular among Norwegians. A vast majority of people want to be rid of him no matter what happens to him. Personally I prefer him to stay. Having a terrorist report how he can't pay for taxi rides because of his popularity among muslims and having newspapers unable to find a muslim willing to denounce him is bound to open a few eyes to the menace of islam.
The problem is the total dominance the PC crowd has over the media, schools and the political parties. The media actively lies and conceals all troubles with the mass migration and generally treats mass migration as a non-issue. In schools kids are actively being brainwashed to be good socialists and multiculturalists. It generally takes a few years to get over this. And since we vote for political parties rather than persons our leaders are effectively insulated from public opinion. Anyone deviating from the PC views on mass migration won't get far in politics and is branded a nazi in the media.
While people are sick of being second-class citizens in their own country and want a stop to the mass migration they simply don't get how bad things really are. Whenever there are racist attacks on natives the media either refuses to report it or downplays the attacks as random violence that have nothing to do with islam.
Our state-run statistics agency (SSB) operates with estimates of future migration that are pure fantasy. This year we once again have record immigration into the country (as with most years it seems). Around 55,000 arriving and 30,000 leaving. -SSB assumes a constant migration of 24,000 people into the country until 2060 as their worst-case scenario. A number that is already lower than the current net migration into the country. They also count children of immigrants as Norwegians when setting up their estimates on what percentage will be immigrants in 2060. While obviously untrue to anyone who looks at the numbers the assumption of max 27% immigrants in 2060 is treated as absolute by the media, by teachers and by politicians. As a result most people are as ignorant of how fast the country's population is being replaced as they are ignorant of muslim rapes, riots and assaults all over Europe.
Sadly, the only way this can change is from abroad. People don't realize how bad the media/schools/politicians are failing and so won't see the need to support new media that would report accurately on these matters. The only way this can change is if someone who has people's attention makes an issue of the leftist indoctrination. But the USA won't even make an issue of the recent plans to attack their embassy, or the teacher who was suspended for wearing the star of David (after complaints from his muslim students). And racist attacks on the natives are very much a non-issue in a USA that prefers to join in the attacks and fight a non-existant growth of European racism.
See the US response to the cartoon crisis for instance. Little Denmark has been an American ally since WWII and was even part of the 'coalition of the willing'. And their reward? When a billion muslims called for their blood the US joined with the muslims in attacking Danish freedom of speech as 'hate-speech'. And you people wonder why it is Europeans refuse to support American military adventures...
I've seen a fair amount of talk about a new Radio Free Europe directed at the muslim world. But where it is actually needed is in Europe. We can go on and on about how the koran inspires violence and people just won't get it. They will label it as bigotry and assume the koran is no different from the bible in the role it plays in religion. People simpy don't respond to reason. All the information in the world will make no difference at all without an emotional impact. What is needed is for people to start hearing of the persecution of jews in France. People need to hear of the many examples of western girls being raped because of their ethnicity. We need documentaries showing the sexual harassment of blonde girls in Rinkeby and so on.
...well, maybe there will be a particularly harsh winter in Norway and it'll be too much for their Muslims. But with global warming, that seems unlikely.

The last time that I visited Norway was 1999. My grandparents on my father's side immigrated from Norway to the USA.
I remember a conversation on the train with a man sitting next to me. I spoke with him in Norwegian, which I can use to a limited extent. I think he worked for Statol, the Norwegian petroleum company. I asked him, if he spoke any other languages (i.e. English). He said the only other language that he spoke was *arabisk*. It turned out that he was from Iraq. He seemed like a reasonable guy, an engineer.
You never know, physicians in Scotland were involved in an attack on the Glasgow airport.

I'm not disputing anything you said, all of which made perfect sense, but I was not aware that the United States officially condemned anyone or took sides during the cartoon fiasco. I vaguely remember some comments made by a low-level State Department official when Pakistan was burning with riots over the cartoons, the usual State Department mumbo jumbo but not an official United States government position on the matter. Maybe I missed it.
If Bush or Rice officially condemned the cartoons and the paper that published them, I didn't hear about it. I have also heard a few ignorant, uninformed State Department peons and think tank gurus lamenting the anti-muslim (racist) sentiments in Europe but no official government statements. That would be extremely arrogant and meddling in the sovereign affairs of our closest allies, wouldn't it?! Europeans have every right to be enraged and I'm amazed that they have not revolted en masse against their irresponsible governments for deliberately importing the muslim hordes to destroy their societies. I'm sure it's just a matter of time. Since when does anyone in Europe give a damn what the U.S. government thinks anyway?
