Sunni/Shi'ite Jihad Update. "Bomb in Baghdad Kills at Least 7 In Crowd of Mostly Shiite Shoppers," by Joshua Partlow and Zaid Sabah for the Washington Post (thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist):
...Friday's blast occurred in Tayaran Square, east of the Tigris River, near a barricaded bazaar of vegetable carts and used-clothing dealers. The U.S. military said seven people were killed and 29 wounded. Iraqi police officials cited higher tolls: 14 killed and more than 60 wounded.Camouflaged Interior Ministry commandos took up positions around the square throughout the afternoon, ordering at gunpoint any car that slowed down to keep moving.
Many of the victims were taken to Kindi Hospital in eastern Baghdad, where angry young men roved the parking lot while the wounded wailed inside. Policemen and hospital staff members said the government had ordered them to deny journalists access to the hospital, openly identifying themselves as members of the Mahdi Army, the Shiite militia that dominates the Health Ministry.
"Are you crazy? We are the Mahdi Army, and you know how it works," one policeman said outside the hospital.
I guess in Islam, used clothing dealers are high value targets. Islamic logic never ceases to amaze me...
Not only that, I hate to speculate what might be found in a pile of used clothing in Baghdad...
No surprise there.
Sunni Britain-based terror-supporting website raises a great hue and cry about Jews celebrating Hanuka in Baghdad, holds the "Shia collaborators" (i.e. all the Shia of Iraq) responsible for this "outrage":

Benazir Bhutto latest victim of Saudi-sponsored Wahhabi-inspired terroism against the Shia:

I thought John Bolton made a good point on Fox recently when he criticized us for trying too hard to micromanage Pakistan. I also think that the same point could be made about Iraq. It's too bad that there's all this barbarity in Iraq, but the worst part is that our troops get caught in the middle of it.
Islamic "civilization" is a basket case, but we don't need to climb inside the basket.

probably inspired by the 1985 movie "Witness", starring Harrison Ford

Notice the media always reports the number of killed as if they fight back. If the terrorists kill more people their reward is greater; their goal of publicity is maximized. So like a laboratory rat, they push the bar (blow up the car) over and over again. What if journalists were judgmental against suicide bombers, say, the way they report early stories implicating U.S. troops? Nobody knows the answer to that question.
"...Friday's blast occurred in Tayaran Square, east of the Tigris River, near a barricaded bazaar of vegetable carts and used-clothing dealers...."
.....the Muslims lust for spilt blood continues....maybe the Muslim terrorists did not see blood stains on the used clothing....
..."a barricaded bazaar.."....hmmmm....what would ordinary Muslim bazaar booth operators and vegetable peddlers need to barricade themselves against....other Muslims?......
....Muslim terrorists are an unhappy lot when things are quiet and peaceful....no explosions or body parts flying about.....no large pools of blood on the ground, no wailing or gnashing of the teeth on the street.....no rubble scattered about or large gaping holes in the street and on the walls...
....These Muslim terrorists probably returned to their crazed, bearded, finger pointing Islamic cleric at the local mosque to make a gleeful report of the death they caused today (it does not matter that it was the death of other Muslims ).....
....Islam....feel the love?......
....Islam....feel the love?......
I only feel sorry for the living muslims, the dead ones are the lucky ones, they got out !!!!!
You would think that people in Islamic societies look around at the world they live in and ask a few appropriate questions, like why is it that fear and carnage is so much a part of their lives, where even a trip to a market to buy food for their families could be the last trip they make, or where a stroll down a street or ride on a bus can entail an end to their, or loved ones, lives?
You would think that they would look at the relative peace most non-Muslims live in in their non-Muslim societies -- except where there is a sizable Muslim presence.
There is clearly something radically wrong with people infected with the Islamic ideology. I suspect that even the Neanerthals were more intellectually capable of making a rational judgement about the environment they lived in.
One of the funniest things I read was that 75 percent of Iraqi al Qaeda was destroyed. I think it's more likely, a goodly percentage of those al Qaeda Sunni types are on Uncle Sam's "Awakening" payroll now.
For instance, Iraqi Blogger Nabil has an interesting blurb:
"I was intending to write about this long time ago but I was busy the days before and couldn't do it. The situation in Iraq is just so damn ironic, a month ago I was talking to my cousin through the internet and I was asking him about how the situation is now in that area. He tried to explain to me the changes that have taken place in Baghdad, he said that the situation is about 5% better than how it was when I was Iraq, he says "do you remember the men we used to see on motorbics who used to kidnap people and kill people? Alqa`ida men?" I said "sure", he goes "well, yeah, now they call themselevs the Awakening men of Adhamiya, they have removed Alqa`ida masks from their stinky faces and now wearing the masks of the awakening wave, he said you would be amazed if you come to the area and see the checkpoints ran by even children, you may see a 14 year old kid rasing a gun in your face and asking you to obey him in order to check you for guns and explosives, he said the only reason that the situation now is a little better in the area is because the American troops have paid those guys money in order to work with them", he continues saying "the whole issue is about money, give money you get alliances".
Well, I'm happy to hear that we've made progress against Al Qaeda in Iraq. Now to make progress against the Mahdi Army and Iran's Shia allies. Reminds me of whack-a-mole.
To rational who wrote,
“There is clearly something radically wrong with people infected with the Islamic ideology. I suspect that even the Neanderthals were more intellectually capable of making a rational judgment about the environment they lived in.”
This is due to the fact that the Muslim God must neither be rational nor logical. The God of Islam is capricious. This God can neither be approached nor understood. One must never think independently. On the contrary, one must only obey.
You cannot understand the way they think without accepting their rejection of Greek philosophy and Christian theology.
(No offense to any other philosophical system or religion is intended.)
