How helpful would fake ID documents be to a jihad terrorist? Of course, this guy may just be involved in petty identity theft and forgery, but the FBI and Homeland Security were called in.

The investigation of a Morton Grove man charged with 22 counts of felony identity theft started when his son reported that his father had threatened to shoot him, authorities said Tuesday.Officers were looking for weapons last week when they searched the home of Mohammad Afzal Sodagar in the 8600 block of Frontage Drive.
What they found instead were hundreds of credit cards, 11 Illinois identification cards with Sodagar's photos—but bearing other names—on them, at least 36 Social Security cards, gold coins and bars and more than $60,000 in cash, said a spokesman for the Cook County state's attorney's office.
Bail for Sodagar, 51, was set at $3 million during a hearing Monday in the Skokie branch of Circuit Court. He was charged Saturday.
In his dealings with Chicago's Muslim community, Sodagar, whom family members say uses his middle name, has portrayed himself as the chief executive of a television production company. But in arguing for the high bail, prosecutors said he apparently has no job.
"This man has been operating his own criminal enterprise for probably 30 years," said Morton Grove Police Cmdr. Brian Bolger.
"We have located 22 victims," Bolger said, including three from Michigan, Nevada and Indiana. But he said police believe there may be more victims.
The FBI, the Department of Homeland Security and the Internal Revenue Service have been notified of Sodagar's arrest, Bolger said....
In press releases and news reports over the last two years, he has portrayed himself as CEO of a company called Eye-TV and as a contact for at least two prominent Chicago Muslim groups.
Officials with the Muslim Community Center, which runs a Chicago mosque as well as a school and mosque in Morton Grove, said Sodagar has volunteered with the group, but they said he has held no elected positions with the organization and has had no corporate responsibilities.
"He's been involved in a volunteer capacity for about the past year and a half," said Yasir Aleemuddin, a director of the Muslim Community Center.
Sodagar has been relieved of his volunteer duties since his arrest, according to the group.

Why, WHY, is he out on bail?
The longer article states that Sodagar had a history of violence with his family. That seems to indicate a serious inquiry into possible missing daughters who were at school one day and gone the next,'to visit relatives,' and never to return. Also, the statement coming from the mosque has a familiar ring to it. Leaders of the local mosque claim to have barely known Sodagar, although he volunteered at the mosque for a number of years. Not claiming the guy that got caught must be standard practice for Muslim clergy not wanting the spotlight on their operations.
Good ole Morton Grove. I am from there, a relative of mine was a fireman there for years, and yes, there is a large Muslim population in the town, they have thier own schools.
In fact, a couple of years before 9-11 happened, the Morton Grove firemen went to the muslim elementary school in town to do a "fire awareness day" where they talked about fire safety with the kids and what not.
The reason I bring it up is because at one point in the seminar, the kids were told to draw what they want to be when they grow up, a lot kids drew a "fireman" and a "businessman" but one kid, had a picture drawn, and told my relative, "I want to be a terrorist when I grow up." With a smiling face. Keep in mind, this was a couple of years before 9-11. My relative kinda took that little ditty in, and was more or less shocked about it, but he didn't do anything. A couple of years later, right after 9-11 happened, he called the FBI and told them his story.
Point is, I am not surprised this happened in Morton Grove.

From a boast I read of being made by one member of the Pakistan community to the sociologist Darcus Howe, it seems that by using fake identities and passports, any reasonably sized Muslim community in a British town can ship in men from the subcontinent in their thousands.

hate to tell you all but that is the normal thinking of any muslim who comes from abroad. maybe not to the extant that this guy want to but "screwing" the infidals in their own lands is what they do best. they will only stop when muslims take over and institue sharia laws.
Criminal activity and islam are quite compatible because of the devaluation of honesty and goodness in both.

Mr Mohammed Afzal Sodagar is acting in complete consistency with the inner nature of his religion. So are the members of his mosque who are - doubtless - lying till they're black in the face.
The original 'identity theft' in Islam is right there in the Quran - the claim that 'allah' is the God of the Bible; the claim that all the Biblical figures were 'really' Muslims.
What's the difference between claiming that Noah, Moses or Jesus were 'really' Muslims - or saying that all babies are born Muslim (which then neatly justifies Muslim kidnapping and enslaving and brainwashing of non-Muslim children) - and...identity theft, stealing someone's good name and misusing it for criminal purposes? Islam 'steals' the good name of the Biblical God and uses it precisely as a falsified passport is used.
Islam is riddled with fraud, lies, theft, falsehood, on every imaginable level. And then some.
Take a walk through the lowest levels of Dante's Inferno, where the Sins of the Wolf are laid bare, and you will understand people like Mohammed Afzal Sodagar.
