Turkish Court: Marital Rape Not A Crime; Turkish Columnist: Decision Turns Women Into Sex Slaves

Turkey takes another step toward becoming a Sharia state in which women are essentially commodities. Let them into the EU! From the MEMRI Blog (thanks to Pamela):

In response to a ruling by Turkey's Supreme Court of Appeals that marital rape is not a crime, İsmet Berkan wrote in his column in Radikal that because of the ruling, if a woman "resists and is killed by her husband in the end, his penalty even could be reduced due to 'grievous provocation!' We learned [about] this during the ‘Stop Violence Against Women’ week..."

He continued, "Unfortunately, the court's decision has the effect of turning women into sex slaves in marriages... Forcing someone into sexual intercourse is called 'rape.' In Turkey, which is making efforts to end violence against women, the Court of Appeals decision must have been a really bad coincidence..."

And the EU wants to admit these dark age barbarians into Europe?

Friggin nuts.

There IS a plus side to all of this: the more this kind of stuff happens, the more reluctant the Euro-dhimmis will be to admit them to the EU.

...I, for one, am not worried at all about it happening--because it ain't gonna happen. Period.

So let's all relax for a bit. *pours himself a Scotch*

The place ain't called TURKEY for nothing.

Time to tell them to get stuffed, EU.

Watch for the news, if you see it. This journalist is going to be accused of insulting Turkishness, to shut him up, and other like minded souls. As if you could insult Turkishness, how is it possible?

Just exactly how does one "sleep in anger"? I've tossed and turned in anger, walked the floor in anger, sat in the chair and drunk myself stupid in anger, but slept...? No.

It must be a Muslim thing and if they had any sense they'd let the angels handle the cursing and the anger and get a good night's sleep.

What does D'Souza have to say about this brave new Turkey (cough...Ottoman Empire)?

:)

Turkey: Ready for entry into the EU!

It's funny how we often hear about Turkey being a "secular" country. Meanwhile there is no separation between secular and religious in Islam; in Islam, secular is religious.

From the Quran:

23:5. “And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts).
23:6. Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame;”

70:29. “And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts from illegal sexual acts) .
70:30. Except with their wives and the (women slaves and captives) whom their right hands possess, for (then) they are not to be blamed,”

Muhammad's conduct, illustrating it is acceptable to take a "wife" by force:

Sahih Bukhari, Volume 5, Book 59, Number 523:
Narrated Anas bin Malik: “The Prophet stayed with Safiya bint Huyai for three days on the way of Khaibar where he consummated his marriage with her. Safiya was amongst those who were ordered to use a veil.”

...and see Quran 33:21.

Turkey is listed as a predominantly Hanafi country. Here is what a major book of Hanafi Fiqh (The Hidayah) says about taking a wife by force:

“One can enjoy a wife by force”

“But not if she be refractory.”

“If a wife be disobedient or refractory and go abroad without her husband's consent, she is not entitled to any support from him, until she return and make submission, because the rejection of the matrimonial restraint in this instance originates with her; but when she returns home, she is then subject to it, for which reason she again becomes entitled to her support as before. It is otherwise where a woman, residing in the house of her husband, refuses to admit him to the conjugal embrace, as she is entitled to maintenance, notwithstanding her opposition, because being then in his power, he may, if he please, enjoy her by force.””

in the west we call sex with our wives making love for the in the west but i guess in the muslim world there is no love

We have a new hero.

Iranian born artist Sooreh Hera is decided to expose the hypocrisy regarding homosexuality and Islam.

She depicts Muhammad as homosexual. She made a video too, but it was yanked by Youtube.

Rape within marriage only became a crime in the UK about ten years ago, and changing the law was not uncontroversial even then. Of course, no-one would dream of returning to the previous situation now, but some things only become obvious in retrospect. It's a deplorable decision, but I would cut the Turks some slack. It's certainly simplistic to just blame "Islam".

Human rights still has a long way to go even in democracies. ANY country that lives with Sharia and Islam has no concept of human rights and should never be considered "civilized". One would think the EU would be well aware of the hazzards they have created for themselves by their immigration policies, to even consider Turkey as a EU member is madness. But when has logic ever entered into anything Europe has done?

Those supposedly secular Turks are always a class act! If you cannot rape your wife who can you rape? We uncivilized infidels just do not understand this aspect of muslim diversity. I am glad to see that the Turks are laying it all out for us. How enlightening!

sugiero-

LOL!

Coincidentally, there is a Viagra ad at the bottom of the page on the gay Mo article your link leads to.

Mohammad used camel urine.

Maybe there were some trace hormones in the drink that produced a primeval version?

And the President of the National Organization for Women (NOW) and America's feminist college professors protested the new law in the strongest possible terms....

Oh, WAIT, no they didn't.

Not a peep out of any of them. I guess they're all too busy worrying about the rights of the LGTG community....or blaming the Bush administration for "oppressing" women...or something else important like that...

"I guess they're all too busy worrying about the rights of the LGTG community"

So they shouldn't worry about the rights of the LGTG community?

Some community's rights get worried about more than others. The rights of Turkish women are very low on the list At N.O.W.

Check with the judges over there on whether the practice of thighing is illegal. It's legal in Iran, but the Turks are so sophisto and progresso and all...

What the hell is "thighing"?

I have found out what "thighing" is. Just when I think that these animals cannot find a way to disgust me more, they do so beyond my wildest imagination. They can call it whatever they want, in the west we infidels call it pedophilia, and we consider it criminal. How impious they must consider us!
