Domestic violence is an inherent problem in Turkey, and healthcare workers are doing little to combat the prevalence of wife beating, according to research published in the online open access journal, BMC Public Health. A survey of medical personnel reveals that a lack of training and a cultural acceptance of domestic violence may prevent victims from obtaining the support they desperately require. 173 medical staff from the emergency department of a Turkish university hospital responded to a questionnaire about domestic violence. 69.0% of the female and 84.7% of the male respondents declared that they agreed or partially agreed to at least one reason to justify physical violence.Accepted grounds for intimate domestic violence included lying to or criticising the male and failure to care for children. Moreover, about three-quarters of the nurses and male physicians and over half of female physicians agreed that deceiving the husband justified physical punishment. Deceiving the husband is a taboo in Turkey and it is among the most important reasons for honour murders.

Let's be honest, Qu'ran totin' and followin' Muslim males beat their wives because they've never had to take the time to take a communications class or attend an anger management seminar. The Qu'ran says they don't have to, so, human nature being what it is, they've taken the lazy way out. But in the world of true men, wouldn't you rather be considered a guy who may mistakes and not understand his woman but who tries by respecting and honoring (not honor killing) her, rather than one of the drooling, knuckle-dragging wife-beaters who validates his actions because his "holy" book says he can do so?

A man who is "disrespected" by his women, his property, can be seen as weak, as somebody who it may be safe to disrespect in other ways. The man must immediately prove himself as being able to react violently to any hint of "disrespect".
Not so long ago after Europe applauded the upgrades and modernization of the airport at Istanbul, they sacrificed a camel on the tarmac. Welcome to the EU Turkey. You are a shining example of the Muslim world.

I have noted, with considerable dismay, that people who know nothing about Islam ( and who have been spoon fed that "Religion of peace" Horse@#$t ) seem to think that Islam is, in effect, another version of Christianity or Judaism. In other words, no matter how different some of the details of Islam are, the overall pattern is the same as other religions.
Nothing could be further from the truth. Islam is FUNDAMENTALLY ALIEN to anything related to Western Civilization ( just as the fundamental nature of a lion is very different from that of an antelope. )
In particular, behaviors which, in the West would be considered criminal to the point of psycophathic, are in fact, actually ENCOURAGED in Islam when they are directed against unclean kuffar infidel dogs ( like us ) in order to advance Islam.
A good analogy from biology would be to describe Islam as either PREDATOR ( like the lions ) or PARASITE. Disgusting though this may seem to us in the West, it works! Islam has continued to expand for 1,400 years. It has only been kept at bay when the West was stronger than the Islamic world, and when the West was not afraid to actually use that strength. Tragically, we now seem to be paralyzed by self doubt; it will be our undoing!
