(IsraelNN.com) A 16-year-old Arab youth from Kfar Jat has told police that he stabbed a 58-year-old resident of Pardes Hana in order to get out of school. The teen told officers that his parents would not allow him to leave his studies, and that he had decided he would rather sit in jail than return to his classroom.The youth admitted to waiting outside a shopping mall in Pardes Hana and stabbing a random passerby. The stabbing victim was moderately wounded in the attack.

I am actually thinking here that while Muhammed's creations, Allah and Islam, are at the root of the disease and are directly the cause of planned jihadi activities, these kind of low-grade hoodlums are not necessarily acting in the name of religion when they commit their random acts of violence. Their violence and contempt for non-Muslims is obviously directly derived from their sick religion and culture, but a lot of these Muslim youths, like this fellow or the car-burners and vandals in Europe, seem to be just acting out their rage because its a fun thrill for them to do so, not because they are doing it in the name of Allah.
They are not all Allahu Akbharing all the time. Islamic culture itself, rooted in the religion/ideology, creates the conditions for violent thuggery, complete lack of empathy for others and contempt for any authority, but the joy of low-level, spontaneous violence takes off a life of its own.
These "youths" are in fact strategically harmful to jihadi goals in many ways, as they turn the host societies against them before it is time and in random ways without any command-and-control by handlers. I am sure many seasoned jihadis would like to control them a bit more and channel their violence into more strategic efforts. So the spontaneous thuggery of car-burners in France, for instance, certainly derives from the diseased Muslim culture but is ultimately just about sick and savage people getting their thrills without any direct goal - they just like violence.
The London and Madrid bombers, in contrast, were calculating and had planned out their terrorist acts. The effects of their acts directly religiously motivated for specific jihadi goals. That is different.

I have had some experience with some second- and third-generation Algerian kids in France. They are not thinking about Allah when they burn cars. They reminded me more of those frenzied thugs who beat up the truck driver Reginald Denny during the 1992 LA riots. They are having fun beating up people, smashing things and burning things for the pure pleasure of doing it. Their hatefulness may come from their roots, but when they are doing these things, they are not thinking of advancing jihad - they are having fun. They are demonstrating nothing, serving nothing, just reveling in destruction.

All founders of religions reinterpret, co-opt or invent a new concept of God. Otherwise, they would have no foundation for a new religion. Allah is a human concept, whose invention was heavily influenced by previous conceptions of God. Allah, a God that simply wants submission of humans or their death and subjugation, gives martyrs virgins in paradise and is utterly indifferent to human life, is quite clearly a fiction.

What I think is that Muslims are culturally violent. This is clearly rooted in their religion of war, as well as to some degree older tribal influences. There is still different forms of violence by Muslims. There is directly ideologically motivated jihadi violence and then there is just thuggish manifestation of the cultural incentives to violence but without direct and explicit theological motivation. Violence simply permeates Muslim cultures and even when they are not engaging in jihad they are hyper-aggressive and violent and this come out in non-jihadi manifestations of thuggery (against non-Muslims and other Muslims alike). It's the culture. It's violent.
Are these folks that are acting like animals truly acting in an Islamic fashion in regards to their culture, or is that just their excuse, that they are "fighting against the kaffir"?
It's like the Nazis. There were those who were really ideologically committed. There were those who were not so directly invested in the ideology but got off being jackbooted thugs and smashing windows. They enjoyed the climate that the ideology created for them to act out their own violent fantasies. There is diversity of immediate motivation for violence even in a violent fascistic culture.
You can't say that all Muslim violence is directly and consciously jihadi in motivation. That is naive. Some is primarily jihadi and some is more of a secondary phenomenon. What you can say is that Islam produces a culture of anger and resentment and violence. What motivates individual Muslims who become violent varies. They are people, after all, and not a completely monolithic conspiracy. They are people who belong to a sick religion and culture.

Well understood. But how much of this (do you believe) is rooted in the culture, and how much in the teachings of the leaders in the mosques, where they may pick up a phrase or two, or one part of a "religous" decree from an imam, or ideas that their parents put into their heads?
It does confuse when friends of the family for 20 years, including one born into it, the other a convert, wish us happiness on our holidays and would give us the shirts off their backs.
Please don't get me wrong...I'm not defending the islamic culture, but I have seen both sides, the good as above, and the abomination of mankind on a daily basis. I understand the threat, and strive against it both on and off of the job. Sometimes, though, it gets confusing.

Wimbledon - I agree. Nazism gave street thugs approbation for acts that formerly had been viewed as criminal. Suddenly it was ok to beat someone up, smash a window, set a fire...
Soon not only was it ok, but it was perversely viewed as doing the "right" thing, being a patriot. Islam works in the same fashion. It provides people on the margins with the reinforcement they need to do evil.
