MADRID — Ten men arrested in Barcelona on Saturday on suspicion of planning a suicide attack on the city’s public transportation system had intended to carry out the bombing last weekend, a Spanish judge said Wednesday in court documents ordering the men to remain in jail.The detainees, most of them Pakistanis, were part of an “organized group” that was planning to attack Jan. 18 through Jan. 20, Judge Ismael Moreno of Spain’s National Court wrote.
The detainees include three potential suicide bombers, at least two of them Pakistanis who came to Spain in the past few months, the judge wrote.
He questioned the 10 suspects on Wednesday in the Madrid court, then charged all with belonging to a terrorist organization and some with possession of explosives.
Four others arrested Saturday were released without charge.
Judge Moreno said several suspects were arrested Saturday during a meeting at an unofficial mosque in Barcelona, where the police found materials that could be used in explosives, including nitrocellulose and timers. [...]

According to court documents, the Barcelona group was led by Maroof Ahmed Mirza, 38, and Mohammad Ayud Elahi Bibi, 36, both Pakistanis and the members most well versed in Islam. Hafeez Ahmed, 39, a Pakistani who spent five months in Pakistan last year, was alleged to be in charge of making and handling explosives.[...]

Someone needs to tell them that islam has nothing to do with the bombings they were trying to perpetrate. In fact, they (the arrestees) have broken the EU's and the UN's guidance about linking islam and terrorism. Film every second, so that Western "de-programmers" can find out just what it is, just what appeal to Islam -- what parts of the Qur'an, what particular Hadith, what details of Muhammad's life in the Sira -- are used for this fantastic "de-programming."

And that is true, too: the Al-Saud are on the side of Islam, they have plowed nearly a hundred billion dollars into mosques, madrasas, campaings of Da'wa, armies of Western hirelings to act as apologists. The main religious texts provide no clear rules as to what a mosque should look like.
AN Apartment can be declared a mosque. old churches are favorited moque conversion sites, a bowling alley can be a mosque (an in the state of Connecticut), an abandoned KMArt store could be a declared mosque....heck, you know that old abandoned gas station down the road from your house...could be a mosque....Muslims can declare anything to be a mosque...one day they will declare your land actually belongs to them...

Nice. I might add myself that it is too bad that this behavior occured in a mosque in a western country. I am not surprised, however. I also need to mention that this would not be allowed in Iraq, for instance. It would be illegal.
The Tablighi Jamaat is the group of islamists that are going to build the mega-mosque in London beside the London 2012 Olympic Parc that will host up to 12,000 worshippers.
We will see what will happen whit this project.

In which case, why do they care about the al aqsa mosque? How is memorializing the site where mohammed supposedly ascended into heaven for a few hours any different from memorializing the house where he was born?
It is a loss for Spain that General Franco is still not in charge.
