At the very minimum, the University of Toronto (I believe that is where attends university) should kick his sorry ass out of the institution as would no doubt happen had someone posted similar material about Muslims or people of African heritage. I agree that hate-speech laws can backfire. But there is a difference between hate-speech and a clear call to violence. One can and should be able to express opinions of hatred and bear the social consequences. One should not be free to incite violence.

Saying "I hate people like you," should be protected speech.

Saying "let's kill people like you" is a direct call to violence and should not be protected.

Saying "you descended from apes and pigs" by a single individual it would seem should be protected.

Saying "let's kill the people who descended from apes and pigs" clearly is a call to violence that should not be protected.

Having made the statements above, I do have a problem with an organized and deliberate effort by religious or other "institutions" to teach hatred, even without a call to violence.

Today, 30th January, marks the 75th anniversary of Hitler becoming Chancellor of Germany. Little over a year later, following Paul von Hindenburg's death, he became Fuhrer - the undisputed overlord of Germany. The countdown to war started in earnest, and those who told us that war was only a matter of time were ridiculed. Following Munich in September 1938, Chamberlain waved his scrap of paper proclaiming "Peace in our time" - and worse still - he really believed there would be peace. Few preparations were made for war during the all-too-brief interlude, and Churchill was howled at when he told the Commons on Chamberlain's return that we 'had suffered a great defeat' and that 'Chamberlain had been given a choice between war and dishonour, that he had chosen dishonour, and that he would have war'. And in the minds of Osama bin Laden and his ilk, which is at least a fifth of Islam and growing, those defeats have to be avenged with bloodshed, as does Vienna in 1529 and 1683. It doesn't matter that these took place centuries ago, because the shame of those defeats against the infidels they intended to conquer is timeless. Infidels thoroughly dehumanized, just like the Jews were in Nazi Germany. And when people are dehumanized in the eyes of genocidal maniacs, it makes them easier to kill without pangs of guilt. And murdering without guilt is the speciality of the Jihadists. We saw how many Muslims wanted our destruction in polls carried out in the aftermath of 911 and in the reaction to that atrocity in the eyes of the Muslim street. Muslims celebrated the murder of more than 3,000 innocents by partying, whilst amongst Muslims, support for Osama bin Laden topped 65%. And throughout it all, we had a US President telling us that Islam is a religion of peace before the dust had chance to settle in downtown New York. There is little reason to believe anything has changed in the seven years since 911 - at least amongst them, but amongst our self-loathing selves, so much has changed. We are thinking the previously unthinkable - that we are at fault, and that if we show our hatred towards the Israelis obvious enough, then we will be spared. What an utterly evil line of thought! But it is in fashion. The Chomskys and Finkelsteins - incredibly Jewish - are the biggest promoters of the destruction of the state of Israel, whilst lefties cry "Racist!" at those who dare to tell the truth about the history of Islam, its brutal conquests and the timeless commands to wage war against the infidel until Islam rules the entire planet - all set out in the Koran, Sira and hadith. We close our ears to those who tell us what they're going to do to us and pretend it isn't happening - just like our ancestors of 75 years ago, whilst those who sound the warning get slandered in similar fashion to those who sounded the alarm back then. History has a dangerous habit of repeating itself, and for our own good, we had better heed the lessons of history, rather than the shrill voices of the dysfunctional apologists in our midst.

This is not a question of "hate speech" or "incitement." This is just plain old fashioned sedition, and as far as I'm aware, no country's free speech laws protect sedition. Lock the fatherless bastard up.

I'm glad you said that, Robert. There can be no more sinister laws passed in a democratic society than so-called hate speech or hate crime laws.
The reasoning behind hate crime and hate speech laws is to protect a minority person against the majority, and, for that reason, they are generally applied selectively only to those judged deserving of punishment, which, of course, is anyone belonging to the target class of the majority.
The ideology does not permit for prosecuting a minority because it judges them incapable of the unreasoning hate of anyone. Their hate will always be the normal reaction of a persecuted minority to the injustices visited upon them by the majority.
Muslims know this, and are very adept at using these laws to silence their critics.
All hate crime and hate speech laws should be abolished. They have no business in a democratic society. Their real purpose is to silence and punish anyone expressing thoughts not approved by the politically correct establishment.

When I read the samples of Hossain's postings, I was reminded very much of some of the 'classics' from Mr Spencer's 'hate mail bag' that he sometimes shares with us.

I am also reminded of the contents of Bouchra Ismaili's infamous email in the Netherlands.

Reading it makes one feel dirtied.

The last war which America won in earnest was WWII. In that conflict, rather than outlawing "incitement to hatred", and exhortations toward violence, these things were positively embraced by both our government, and our collective society, and war was waged seriously with victory as our ultimate goal. In the end our enemies were destroyed utterly.

We didn't set about salvaging Nazi supremacism or Japanese supremacism. We didn't set about looking for the rare "moderate" Nazi or friendly Japanese supremacist to accommodate ourselves to, or to make ourselves more comfortable with the threat their less friendly brethren posed. Nor did we pretend that Nazi Germans or fascist Japanese were in any way reformable. We saw no redeeming quality in them, and those who did were repudiated and ostracized from our society. We certainly did not encourage millions of Nazis or millions of Imperial Japanese to come to our nation and to practice their vile beliefs unimpeded.

My! how times have changed.

Today we do back flips to pretend our enemies are our friends. We invite them here in their millions to live among our families, and give them money and tax breaks to build their indoctrination centers, we allow them to use our rights to suppress those self-same rights, and to protect themselves from attack. We even, preposterously, shed our blood on their behalf to appease them, and to attempt to fix their deplorable cesspools nations of origin! We have to guard against writing these people off and dismissing their words as pure bluster. Maybe THIS guy is a non achiever sitting in the desert but he's not the only one who is thinking this way. For a long time we in America thought we were safe behind two oceans in our multicultural society where Muslims had assimilated. We were wrong. The Muslim community could be 99% non achievers. The remaining one percent are more than enough to do great damage and they are the ones we are most likely to open our doors to.

We are the ones who have to guard against overconfidence.

I am a Canadian serving in Kabul,Afghanistan with UNOPS (United Nations Office for Project Services) and whet I read is very frightening indeed. In 2004, I was deployed to Kabul as a civilian support for our troops and lived in Camp Julien. In 2005, I joined the United Nations agency and have been working with them every since. My question is, why doesn’t our Government deport him back to where he came from? Why is our Government pussyfooting around? This man should be arrested and charged for entertaining such evil and despicable thoughts.

If he is a Canadian Citizen, then he should be stripped off his Canadian Citizenship and sent to his country of origin. If he is a landed immigrant, he should be immediately deported.
