And this is true everywhere: in Iraq, where the Bush Administration thinks it can "destroy Al Qaeda"; in Afghanistan, where the Bush Administration thinks it can "wipe out" the Taliban; in Australia (see above), in France and Great Britain and Spain and Germany and the Netherlands and Denmark and Sweden and Norway and Belgium and indeed, in Canada and the United States. There is not some finite number of members of a finite number of groups (my god, I feel as though Hilbert and Cantor will be joining us any minute for a nightcap), but an endlessly replaceable, fungible group of Believers, just doing what Muslims are supposed to do, but taking it a bit more seriously, and themselves taking on the task, for the whole community, the Muslims of the Umma, of participating directly in violent Jihad against the Infidels, while other Muslims support them, thus participating only indirectly, or participate in the Jihad by employing instruments other than terrorism, other than qitaal (combat).

I am sure new PM Rudd will do everything he can to help them.

I get the impression that the more long-term thinking "demographic jihadis" would not be impressed with these hot-head types.

Good on the Australian for publishing this type of information more often than other MSM.

I continue to blame Malcolm Fraser and Paul Keating for encouraging these people to come to our fair land.

In the USA there's an 'anti-terrorism' caucus in Congress.

Time to find out if any of our Aussie politicians would be game to attempt a bipartisan 'counter-jihad counter-sharia' caucus, or something approximating thereto, in Federal Parliament and in our State Parliaments.

Statistics in the latest AFP annual report show that in 2006-07, they had 76 new counter-terrorism cases, they finalised another 83 cases and at June 2006 they had a total of 83 open cases.

New PM Rudd is just a populist. I am sure he knows this won't make OZ immune from terror attacks.

We have 500 active troops there out of a population smaller than the state of California . As far as I know they mainly guard the airport.

He said he would withdraw before the election, (vote getter), so now he is doing it.My guess is he will drag it out until the US has a democrat in the White House with whom he will further intensify the Aussie US alliance .

It is amazing. It's as if a doctor treated symptoms and not the disease. For example, the Muslim beliefs re Jews is a disease and the symptoms are the never ending Jihad to return them to their Dhimmi status in Israel. The disease is also the Muslim belief that the Jewish Holy Books have been deliberately forged and Christians (also the people of "the falsified Book") are either Muslims who deliberately distorted Islam (Jews) or were led "astray" (Christians). Islam is what it is and what it is in Islamic texts. Time to deal with reality....

A German's point of view on Islam

A man whose family was German aristocracy prior to World War II owned a number of large industries and estates. When asked how many German people were true Nazis, the answer he gave can guide our attitude toward fanaticism.

"Very few people were true Nazis "he said," but many enjoyed the return of German pride,and many more were too busy to care. I was one of those who just thought the Nazis were a bunch of fools. So, the majority just sat back and let it all happen. Then, before we knew it, they owned us, and we had lost control, and the end of the world had come. My family lost everything. I ended up in a concentration camp and the Allies destroyed my factories."

We are told again and again by "experts" and "talking heads" that Islam is the religion of peace, and that the vast majority of Muslims just want to live in peace.

Although this unqualified assertion may be true, it is entirely irrelevant. It is meaningless fluff, meant to make us feel better, and meant to somehow diminish the spectre of fanatics rampaging across the globe in the name of Islam. The fact is that the fanatics rule Islam at this moment in history.

It is the fanatics who march. It is the fanatics who wage any one of 50 shooting wars worldwide. It is the fanatics who systematically slaughter Christian or tribal groups throughout Africa and are gradually taking over the entire continent in an Islamic wave. It is the fanatics who bomb, behead, murder, or honour kill. It is the fanatics who take over mosque after mosque. It is the fanatics who zealously spread the stoning and hanging of rape victims and homosexuals. The hard quantifiable fact is that the "peaceful majority", the "silent majority", is cowed and extraneous.

Communist Russia was comprised of Russians who just wanted to live in peace, yet the Russian Communists were responsible for the murder of about 20 million people. The peaceful majority were irrelevant. China's huge population was peaceful as well, but Chinese Communists managed to kill a staggering 70 million people.

The average Japanese individual prior to World War II was not a warmongering sadist. Yet, Japan murdered and slaughtered its way across South East Asia in an orgy of killing that included the systematic murder of 12 million Chinese civilians; most killed by sword, shovel, and bayonet.

And, who can forget Rwanda , which collapsed into butchery. Could it not be said that the majority of Rwandans were "peace loving"?

History lessons are often incredibly simple and blunt, yet for all our powers of reason we often miss the most basic and uncomplicated of points: Peace-loving Muslims have been made irrelevant by their silence.

Peace-loving Muslims will become our enemy if they don't speak up , because like my friend from Germany , they will awaken one day and find that the fanatics own them, and the end of their world will have begun.

Peace-loving Germans, Japanese, Chinese, Russians, Rwandans, Serbs, Afghanis, Iraqis, Palestinians, Somalis, Nigerians, Algerians, and many others have died because the peaceful majority did not speak up until it was too late.

As for us who watch it all unfold; we must pay attention to the only group that counts; the fanatics who threaten our way of life.

Seeing as you paged fellow Aussies, I thought that I should reply. I hope that I can give you some good news.

You see, I am a teacher in a private Catholic school. One of my subjects is religion. When we dealt with World Religions I made wide use of Jihad Watch, especially Islam 101. Many of the boys were astounded with what they learnt. They too, just as I used to, bought the line that Islam is a religion of peace. I also found the videos available on MEMRI invaluable. As many posters have said, the greatest way to show the world what a threat Islam poses to the West is to listen to Muslims themselves. Finally, those who are now apostates from Islam are a great resource. They know the religion inside out and their personal testimonies and courage are inspiriing.

The hardest people to convince about the threat that Islam poses to us were my colleagues. They just wanted to believe all that they had heard about Islam being a religion of peace and that the radicals had perverted its true message. I doubt any of them had bothered reading the Koran for themselves. Some went into no more depth than looking at the five pillars of Islam.

So mate, some of us are fighting back with the most powerful weapon of all, the mind.

Well done! It's refreshing to hear from teachers who study, think, and teach.

Off topic to you, as well as dumbledoresarmy, voltaire, & gramfan, I was not aware until the last few days of the extent of the Muslim infiltration in Australia. My wife and I were planning to travel there to celebrate our 25th anniversary next January, but are there safe areas? Reading through some of the links provided recently, it sounds as though some of your cities are under siege. I had never heard of this.

Any reply would be appreciated, if you feel it appropriate in this forum.

We have hosted some Americans here. They love it!

Whilst I do not have muslims in my street I do see them in shopping malls - some are Indonesian, not always Middle Eastern.But there are not that many where I am. I think the biggest enclave would be in the Sydney area of Lakemba where there is a large mosque.

There certainly are enclaves in most states but these can easily be avoided. There are lots of tourist places you won't find find too many.

Example: beaches, casinos, pubs and wineries!
(Well, they aren't supposed to be there,lol!)

Great news. Keep at it! The kids will educate their friends, parents, grandparents, and so it goes.

The important thing is to get people to look at the Quran for themselves - along with Robert's Qur'an blog.

I assume you've got the school library stocked up, by now, with Bat Yeor, Robert Spencer, Andrew Bostom and the other usual suspects?

You say it's a Catholic school? In that case the fact that Robert Spencer is a sincere and earnest practising Catholic should carry *some* weight with the more devout parents.

You can always bring in Benedict 16th's Regensburg speech and get the kids in the higher grades to look up the source and historical context of the Paleologus quote.

If you've got Italo-Australian Catholic kids who either speak Italian already or are studying it, Oriana Fallaci's La Rabbia e L'Orgoglio, La Forza del Ragione and l'Apocalisse, could be added to the Modern Italian Literature section of the school library.

What I'd love to see, in Australia, is Cardinal Pell sponsoring a closed-doors [i.e. no-Muslims-invited] naked-truth-about-Islam emergency information session for Aussie Catholics (selected invitees from other churches and from other non-Muslim faith communities) - with Robert Spencer invited and paid for as the star speaker.

A seminar was tried out by the Pastor of the Catch the Fire Ministries and they were taken to court by the muslim community for breeching the racial vilification act in the state of Victoria.

It's amazing how often we keep hearing about people getting into legal trouble just for mentioning Islam, or daring to quote from the Koran. England, Canada, here in the US, Australia, Denmark, the list seems endless.

I hope we can just keep shining a light into the darkness that is Islam; creatures that live in the dark can't stand the light.

Dumbledoresarmy, we have got some lovely books on Islam for the discerning non PC reader. We have two copies of "Why I am not a Muslim" by Ibn Warraq. I have had the library purchase a couple of Robert's books. (It's great, I don't have to buy them myself.)

I'm hoping to get a copy of the DVD "What the West needs to know". Unfortunately the boys here are more likely to pay attention when they can watch rather than read. Anything over 200 words stretches their powers of concentration. Nonetheless I will keep at it.
