War Is Deceit Update: Hamas fakes a crisis. When will the Western mainstream media -- the part of it that is not complicit, that is -- wake up to the fact that the jihadists are staging propaganda theater on this grand scale?

On at least two occasions this week, Hamas staged scenes of darkness as part of its campaign to end the political and economic sanctions against the Gaza Strip, Palestinian journalists said Wednesday.In the first case, journalists who were invited to cover the Hamas government meeting were surprised to see Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh and his ministers sitting around a table with burning candles.
In the second case on Tuesday, journalists noticed that Hamas legislators who were meeting in Gaza City also sat in front of burning candles.
But some of the journalists noticed that there was actually no need for the candles because both meetings were being held in daylight.
"They had closed the curtains in the rooms to create the impression that Hamas leaders were also suffering as a result of the power stoppage," one journalist told The Jerusalem Post. "It was obvious that the whole thing was staged."

I too used to believe that the western press in their partisan stupidity were "deceived" by the mise en scenes of Hammas et al. Now i believe more and more than it is in fact collaboration.

The Palestinians are a nation of boys crying "wolf". They just don't realize that the sheep they are guarding are their own, not those of the global village. The day the world ignores their cries they will lose everything. It couldn't happen to a nicer bunch.
It's also "staged" for Palestinians to have a state. They already have a state. It's called Jordan.

While a day's oil revenues (undeserved and unmerited, because requiring no effort on the part of the recipients of that revenue) flowing inexorably to Saudi Arabia, the U.A.E., Kuwait, could supply a year's needs for the "Palestinians" who are presumably the "brothers," that is fellow members of the Umma, to which those fabulously rich Saudis, Kuwaitis, and denizens of the Emirates belong, it is we, the Infidels, who have been led to believe that we must supply all those Muslims who happen not to have been blessed with oil revenues with revenues, instead, supplied by Infidels -- and our attitude of fearful compliance, and their attitude, of receiving as by arrogant right, what the Infidels supply, mimics on both sides the attitudes of the classic Jizyah-payment, given by fearful dhimmis as a way of avoiding possible violence from o'erweening and ever-demanding Muslims. Thus the "foreign aid" of Infidels to various Muslim states and peoples, including that group of Arabs some choose to call "Palestinians," is nothing but a disguised Jizyah, and should be recognized, and mocked, as such.
As for the capacities of the current Israeli government, and the understanding of its principals, such appalling people as Olmert, Ramon, and Livni -- one despairs. They appear not to recognize that things are changing outside of Israel, as other Infidels are coming to recognize the Muslim threat to themselves, within their own countries, and are now willing, here and there, to begin to re-think the propaganda so steadily presented (not least by British and French media, such as the BBC and Agence France-Presse), which means they are also recovering what they should never have lost in the first place, a sympathy for Israel and even a recognition that the so-called "national struggle" of the so-called "Palestinians" is merely a Lesser Jihad, akin to the Lesser Jihads now being waged inside Western Europe, and kept in check, so far, only by diligent and very expensive security measures, of all kinds.
The Olmert government, indifferent or blind to Islam, also has no sense of how this perception is changing, or how Israel might be able to take advantage of this, and how and why it need not condemn itself to the absurdity of "cutting the land in two" (that is Tzipi Livni's unbelievable phrase), or to the "two-state solution" that, at this point, only the terminally ignorant-of-Islam could conceivably believe in.
"all that "peace process" stuff" is a remnant of the cold war. Our fear of escalation makes us unwilling to do battle at any level, no matter how existential the threat. Peace at any price is now the norm. If forced to choose between liberty and life our leaders will choose life in the (mistaken) belief that we will live to fight another day.

Does anyone know if the report by DEBKA that HAMAS destroyed the 10km Egyptian wall between Gaza and the N Sinai pennisula on Tuesday is accurate?
According to DEBKA, apx. 300,000 Palestinians poured through the now-defunct wall barrier and are now occupying a portion of N. Sinai. They go on to say that the Eyptian government and American watch forces withdrew this morning.
My thoughts: If this is true, with a complement of 150,000 Palestinians who live in Egypt, they could militarily disrupt the Suez canal, which 15% of all oil flows through. Add that to the Straight of Hormuz with a similiar operation by the Iranians...can we say global meltdown.

The Egyptian breakout is going to test the just how much the local governments prize the propaganda value of the Palestinians. Feeding and clothing hundreds of thousands of refugees ain't cheap, but if they just round them up and ship them home they lose their claims to solidarity.
