Danish cops nab three Muslims in plot to kill Muhammad cartoonist

Worth killing for

One more time: a cartoon of Muhammad does not harm Muhammad. It does not harm Islam. It may even reflect more poorly on the cartoonist than on the object of the cartoon. Yet all too many Muslims around the world continue to fail to grasp this, and to commit cold-blooded murder in their static rage, unaware of or indifferent to the fact that their murderous anger is impotent to eradicate the fact of the cartoon itself, and reflects more poorly on their religion than any cartoon ever could.

"Danes nab suspects in cartoonist plot," by Jan M. Olsen for Associated Press (thanks to all who sent this in):

COPENHAGEN, Denmark - Danish police said Tuesday they have arrested three people suspected of plotting to kill one of the 12 cartoonists behind the Prophet Muhammad drawings that sparked a deadly uproar in the Muslim world two years ago.

Two Tunisians and a Dane of Moroccan origin were arrested in pre-dawn raids in western Denmark, the police intelligence agency said.

The Dane was suspected of violating Danish terror laws but likely would be released after questioning as the investigation continues, said Jakob Scharf, the head of the PET intelligence service. The two Tunisians would be expelled from Denmark, he said.

The agency did it mention which cartoonist was targeted. However, according to Jyllands-Posten, the Danish newspaper that first published the drawings on Sept. 30, 2005, the suspects were planning to kill its cartoonist Kurt Westergaard.

"There were very concrete murder plans against Kurt Westergaard," said Carsten Juste, the paper's editor-in-chief.

Commanding the Right & Forbidding the Wrong

ASSAULT

q5.8 The seventh degree is to directly hit or kick the person, or similar measures that do not involve weapons. This is permissible for private individuals provided it is necessary, and that one confines oneself to the minimum needed to stop the reprehensible action and nothing more. When the action has been stopped, one refrains from doing anything further.

FORCE OF ARMS

q5.9 The eighth degree is when one is unable to censure the act by oneself and requires the armed assistance of others. Sometimes the person being reproved may also get people to assist him, and a skirmish may ensue, so the soundest legal opinion is that this degree requires authorization from the caliph (def : o25). since it leads to strife and the outbreak of civil discord. Another view is that there is no need for caliph's permission.

“it is offensive to conduct a military expedition against hostile non-Muslims without the caliph’s permission,” but “if there is no caliph, no permission is required.”

The way to deal with the situation now is for newspapers and other media in Infidel lands, as an act of public reaffirmation of freedom of speech, to publish such cartoons simultaneously, the same day or the same week. And every so often, possibly almost at random, to do so from time to time, along with a reminder of what freedom of speech in the Western world means, until there is no longer a lone Westergaard or a lone Jyllands-Posten being selected for punishment, and left, alas, to fend largely for itself. This is what it means to stand up for freedom of speech.

And the punishment, for those who plot, or those who make threats, or those who in any support those who plot or make threats, should be swift and severe -- and certainly include damage to the interests, as they perceive them, of the larger "Muslim community" -- for only thus will the members of that "community" put their own pressure on others not to do such things, or will be forced to help locate and turn in those others. There needs to be some clear sense that such threats and plots and attempts to kill are counter-productive, will damage "the interests of Muslims." And not merely the "image" of Islam -- but the right of Muslims to build mosques, to conduct Da'wa, to lead Muslim lives in Infidel lands -- all this has to be taken into account by Infidel governments, determined to protect their own legal and political institutions from an unprecedented -- in its instruments, and in its scope, and in its immutability -- threat.

I noticed that the bomb/turban being worn contains a "label" written in Arabic. Anyone know what it says?

-from the article

So is this what conspiracy to murder brings - little more than a slap on the wrist? Here's hoping those cartoonists have good protection. Their government doesn't seem to care all that much. There is little incentive for Muslims in Denmark NOT to continue trying to kill them, if the government's reaction to this plot is any indication. Succeed and you're on the fast track to heaven. Fail and you're on a plane home.

What's the idea here - no harm, no foul?

BigDaddy

The arabic says: La ilah il Allah wa ashadu muahhamadan rasull allah. (There is no god but Allah and moh is his prophet)

Arrest? Imprisonment?

Is there any infidel on the planet who thinks that this trio was "just kidding" and would have never carried this plot to fruition?

Is the Danish government aware that the one thing everyone agrees on that the primary function of government is to protect it's citizens from criminals? If it's every man or woman for themselves, I see little point in paying taxes.

Don't deport them! You're just passing the problem on. Jail time, then deportation.

There is NO negotiation regarding freedom.

tanstaafl,
But they're not "passing the problem on". They're only inviting more people to try. Danish Muslims have been given the green light to try again. Foreigners have been told they will be allowed to go home if they are not successful. Those who are expelled won't be able to kill these cartoonists but those who remain in Denmark have been told the government doesn't really care what they do. Now if they had plotted to kill a Danish official, that the plot never got past the talking stage would be irrelevant. I don't think release or deportation would have been in the cards for any of them, not for at least ten years.

The Dane was suspected of violating Danish terror laws but likely would be released after questioning ... The two Tunisians would be expelled from Denmark...

Wow. These are some damned tough punishments for conspiring to commit an act of Moslem Activism.

* 33:21 ** 33:21 ** 33:21 ** 33:21 ** 33:21 ** 33:21 ** 33:21 ** 33:21 ** 33:21 ** 33:21 *

I take a vow that I shall either kill Abu Afak or die before him!
-- Salim Ibn Umayr, one of the Great Weepers, moments after Mohammed order him to murder Abu Afak, who had dared to criticize Islam

So I was wrong and the Danish PET is right: Moslems have every right to plot religious murder, and to carry out the same. It's right there in the sacred Islamic scriptures.

So I was wrong, and the Danish PET had it right: Moslems can and should plot religious murder, and carry out the same. It's in the sacred Islamic scriptures; it's all sacramental.

Why are they so afraid to treat these folks the way they would any other CRIMINALS? PLEASE read 'moderate muslims, wherefore art thou?' It's at the top of www.darrellepp.com

Let us all remember that these lowlifes were only following the example of their prophet who ordered executions performed by his lieutenants on Jewish poets who dared to ridicule him during his lifetime. Thus, death warrants are accepted practices for those who blemish the reputation of the head gangster. It's a matter of honor and respect contained in the tenants of Islam.

Bigdaddy

The sign on Mo's hat reads " If you can read this you are too close."

'em boyz is going to need some seething medicine.
STAT

This is how free speech will be stopped. Muslims can forget pasing new laws, forget the Canadian civil rights boards; produce enough dead editors and cartoonists, and all dissent will end. Radical Muslims can kill faster than we can imprison them.

Bigdaddy,

According to my decoder ring, it says: "Do not feed the animals"

I assume both literally and figuritively.

But don't worry all, the 'Dannish Catholic Ramadan' will cure such terrorism.

sorry, "Dutch"!!!

"a Dane of Moroccan origin" = a Moslem from Morocco

Much more accurate. A Dane is a Dane, a man whose ancestors were Danes, NOT some what the Spaniards call "Moro" who lives in Denmark.

How about these "Englishmen" of "South Asian" origin? What's "English" about them, except for the language they employ?

How about an "Arab Israeli?" Much too confusing.

As the Islamic world boasts that it is one unit, without national boundaries, why not call a Moslem a Moslem? No matter where he happens to be at the moment.

Is an "American Moslem" or a "Moslem-American," an "American?" If on some foreign shore I happen upon a Moslem who happens to hold American citizenship, do I greet him as a "fellow American?" Or do I regard him as a Moslem, whose loyalty is first to Islam but uses his American passport to facilitate his travels in our world--that to him is the "world of war?"

I wonder why leaders in the West can't seem to figure out that before the influx of Muslims into their societies, it was considered a rarety for newspapater publishers, or other public figures, to have to hire body guards to protect them from being murdered for exercising their constitutional rights to speak and print what they liked.

I doubt if even the deaths of a couple dozen publishers could induce them to come to a rational conclusion about the threat Islam poses to a free society. I'm sure their reaction would be to hire more body guards, and repeat the same old mantras about how Islam has been hyjacked by fringe groups who don't understand the true teachings of Islam.

It's amazing how a people's God-given ability to think rationally can be subverted by their determination not to recognize irrefutable evidence. It's self-induced insanity.

“it is offensive to conduct a military expedition against hostile non-Muslims without the caliph’s permission,” but “if there is no caliph, no permission is required.” (quoted above from the Islamic legal text 'Umdat as-Salik)

Islamic law (whether commandments straight from Allah in the Koran, or from Mohammed in the Sunna, or from the myriad legal hermeneutics derived by Muslim scholars from the preceding two) seems to be fundamentally structured by a loophole mechanism, which can be boiled down to:

"It is forbidden for you to do X -- except when it is okay to do X under the following circumstances."

Thus the above quote:

"Do not fight against Infidels without a caliph -- unless there is no caliph."

Thus Islam perverts the Decalogue:

"Do not murder -- unless you have to murder."

This story got onto our Australian news online, as well; with a few extra details - including the age of the cartoonist, Mr Westergaard. He is SEVENTY-THREE. Abu Afak revisited?

http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2008/02/13/2161094.htm?section=world

I am disgusted by the cowardice and treachery of three Muslim 'men' who have plotted to murder a SEVENTY-THREE-YEAR-OLD man, in a country in which they are guests, and in which they have now, by their manifest failure to comprehend - or respect - its laws and customs, forfeited any right to remain.

They are trying to kill the truth. In my opinion, Mr Westergaard's cartoon, as reproduced above, is nothing other than a perfectly true and accurate depiction of the character and teachings of Mohammed Ha-Meshuggah, as reproduced in the conduct of thousands upon thousands of his devoted imitators.

Mr Westergaard's age is such that he would have witnessed, as a child of 7 or 8, the Nazi invasion and occupation of Denmark.

He knows a tyrant, and a tyrannical worldview, when he sees them.

Hans Christian Andersen and Soren Kierkegaard would be proud of him.

I wonder what King Knut (d. 1035) would have done, had he found three Mohammedans inside his kingdom, busy plotting to murder one of his subjects?

Bigdaddy, A more literal translation reads--Hey virgins, here I come!

Correction - They are jailed, but not expelled.

You see a Fuse on a Bomb - while I see a Flower on a Turban.

Muslims - they are always seeing the negative side of things.

We need more and better cartoons. This one looks like Mohammad's mustache is growing up his nose.
Maybe I should make a large one and hang it from our one overpass in the middle of the night.
The local liberals think they own it, what a shock.
'Mohammad wants you', with a big finger pointing.
I will start in the morning...

.....................

I'm afraid I must respectfully disagree with this analysis. Some "cartoon rage" may indeed be based on a misunderstanding, but I do not think this is true for most. Most don't care that their violent and irrational actions make Islam look rather bad to rational people--they just want to strike such terror into the hearts of those that disagree with them that they stop all dissent.

That's what the cartoons were about in the first place--several cartoons actually show the artists fearful. One has the artist asking radical Islamists not to threaten him, and another shows an artist working in a room with a drawn shade.

Some of the cartoons are indeed amaturish--not, of course, that this is the main point, freedom of speach is. But I think that Kurt Westerbork's image is actually quite well rendered, and a very powerful image.

I did a poster for Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week--"Stand up for Freedom of Speach" "Against Islamo-Fascism". I could have used one of my own illustrations, but I decided to use Westerbork's bomb-in-a-turban image, which is quite iconic at this point.

Usually artists are loathe to use the work of other artists without their express permission, but I decided this was one of the few times whe it was ethical to make an exception.

I'm horrified--but not surprised--that these artists are still under threat.

I need to proofread before I post--of course, I meant Kurt Westergaard..

That cartoon blows my mind!!

Images from the actual scenes, blow my lunch!

What really does impress is the cartoons reality in the fact that their minds (thought processes) have been 'blown' by those murder-suicide demons before they are actually blown to bits. I love the way he looks. You can tell he is totally crazy by the way he looks out his face.

A mind blown crazed serial killer of the first magnitude!

And I thought that emblem on the Mo turban was a bunch of writhing worms emerging from his cranium.

Ah well, 6 of one, half a dozen of the other.

idiots

A total of 11 Danish newspapers have printed the bomb-in-turban Motoon today. That's about every significant daily here.

That constitutes a very nice "Get Lost!" to the Religion of Peace.

While good, the Turkish attack on German suvereignity and the subversion of institutions in Britain are probably more significant problems. There's enough to deal with.

The Jerusalem Post version of this story contains something very interesting - the information that Mr Westergaard has decided to stop being scared and start getting ANGRY.

'"Of course I fear for my life when the police intelligence service say that some people have concrete plans to kill me. But I have turned fear into anger and resentment," Westergaard said in a statement published on Jyllands-Posten's Web site.'

Perhaps any jihadis in Denmark, plotting to kill Mr Westergaard and his 66 year old wife, should think twice.

He and his wife just might be investing in a couple of big, hungry dogs, a set of double-barrelled shotguns, and some target practice.

Beware the Berserker!

Holger Dansker is awakening....
