More genocidal threats. "Hezbollah will soon destroy Israel, says Iran Guards," from GulfNews (thanks to Sr. Soph):
Tehran: The head of Iran's Revolutionary Guards said on Monday that Israel would soon be destroyed by the "hands of Hezbollah", the Fars News Agency reported."In the near future, we will witness the destruction of the cancerous existence of Israel by the powerful and competent hands of the Hezbollah combatants," said Mohammad Ali Jafari, head of the Revolutionary Guards said in a letter to Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
Many Democrats, including Obama, voted against designating the IRG as a terrorist organization. My only question is: What does that make the Democratic party, a dumb organization?
"In the near future, we will witness the destruction of the cancerous existence of Israel by the powerful and competent hands of the Hezbollah combatants"
Yeah and the Israelis won't do a thing about it I suppose.
If and when they do I hope they wipe out these scumbags no matter what "the International Community" says.
So much for a 2 state solution, what these scum want is a "Final Solution" for Israel. Well boys and girls its been tried before and it did not work then and it won't work now.
"Many Democrats, including Obama, voted against designating the IRG as a terrorist organization."
-- from a posting above
Barack Obama did vote against that bill.
Hillary Clinton voted for it.
Does anyone else have the feeling Israel is No. 1 on Iran's nuclear hit list, or is it just me? The scary thing is, they're just crazy enough to actually use a nuclear weapon. Israel should make a pre-emptive strike.
Hezbollah has become bold because they think they won the last skirmish with Israel. They did not. If they won anything, they won it from Olmert.
They can beat Olmert, but they can't beat a seriously military Israel. These people are always bragging on themselves, most of it just blue smoke and a few mirrors...
Obama, a very controversial guy...Now the KKK is supporting him because Hillary is a crazy..........
and anyone is better. Why Barack is better than McCain in the eye's of the KKK, is beyond me.
Also there is some guy (WND), accusing Barack of drug use and gay sex...The plot thickens...
What does that make the Democratic party, a dumb organization?

Yes. Believing in the many lies of Political Correctness will do that to you. Nancy "Headscarf" Pelosi is apparently dumb as a post.
Could be...
WWOD? (What would Obama Do?)
If Hillary wins; islam wins.
If Obama wins; islam wins.
If McCain wins; islam wins.
No matter how you cut it; slice it; dice it; mix-it-round-and-round, America loses.
I think I'll invest in a chain of bura shops now -- and for men, fake beards which are the male equivalent.
Gad, what am I saying!!!!

Whatever his fatal flaw is, I wish it would make itself known asap so as to knock this charlatan off his "messiah" pedestal that stinks to -pardon the pun- high heaven.
What is the etiology of why Mohammedans hate -rabidly, insanely hate - Jews?
Here: Back in the 7th century day in Mecca, Mohammed wanted, and asked for, recognition as a prophet from the centuries-established Jewish tribes of that region. They refused (no fools, they!) That is when Mo began his Campaign of Hate against Jews which continues to this day.
"He was also quoted as saying he would also hold a summit with leaders of Muslim states to address the growing gap between the West and the world of Islam." --posted by witness
Hussein O is an utter fool. Please, "fatal flaw" - expose yourself! Can't there be some sort of Larry Craig incident?! Something!
darcy asks:
What is the etiology of why Mohammedans hate -rabidly, insanely hate - Jews?
Mainly, it's because Jews as Israelis are no longer dhimmis, safely tucked away in the Islamic hierarchy.
Hi jewdog. I still think that it's "mainly" due to Mohammed's virulent excoriation and repudiation and ultimate mass-murder of the Jewish tribes of Arabia.
Israel is cancerous? That's a poor analogy, as cancers have a tendency to spread, while Israel has shown a tendency to shrink.

Insane is more like it. The GOP can join them in the asylum. One definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Both parties continue to "reach out" to Islamic groups in the insane belief that Muslims can be convinced that we are not their enemies. They continue to search for "moderate Muslims", even after those same moderates (aka Saudis and Egyptians) blew up the WTC. Three thousand dead in one day and thousands more killed in hundreds of attacks in just the last six years and Islam is still the religion of peace. Insanity defines our leadership.

Agree with your assessment, PMK. Along with the insanity - utter and complete ignorance of the Qur'an and the history of Islam.
Darcy...Wait till Barack is the winner and up against McCain (probably). The sht has not yet hit the fan. The mud slinger's will be out in force, and the political grave diggers will dig up dirt.
If Obama has any fatal flaw, they will find it.
He can't be perfect.
Besides how can Barack lose when he has the backing of the KKK? I have always thought those guys were crazy, now they have confirmed it...

Instead of focusing on that story American voters would do better to focus on another story on WND: Obama's co-sponsorship of the "Global Poverty Act".
It would demand that the president develop "and implement" a policy to "cut extreme global poverty in half by 2015 through aid, trade, debt relief" and other programs. Its adoption could "result in the imposition of a global tax on the United States" and would make levels "of U.S. foreign aid spending subservient to the dictates of the United Nations."
The legislation, if approved, dedicates 0.7 percent of the U.S. gross national product to foreign aid, which over 13 years he said would amount to $845 billion "over and above what the U.S. already spends."
The plan passed the House last year because most members "didn't know what was in it".
Obama says: "it must be a priority of American foreign policy to commit to eliminating extreme poverty and ensuring every child has food, shelter, and clean drinking water. As we strive to rebuild America's standing in the world, this important bill will demonstrate our promise and commitment to those in the developing world."
Are we to believe that President Obama would care more about protecting America from the Islamic menace than he would about "rebuilding America's standing"?
http://worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=56405
Sorry for straying OT but it's issues like this, the idea that it's up to America to rebuild its standing, that make me turn away from all three candidates. We have nothing to apologize for.
darcy,
I disagree that the main reason for Muslim anti-Jewish hostility has to do with Mo's conflicts with the ancient Arabian Jews, though that's a factor. The reason I differ, is that while Jews had issues with Muslims before Israel, the really virulent hatred didn't arise until Jews broke the dhimma with Zionism.
/sarcasm on
Maybe we should demand the right of return to Mecca and Medina.
/sarcasm off

jewdog, since you are apparently Jewish, what exactly is Zionism? I know that Mohammedans love to refer to Jews as "Zionists."
Yeah, pmk, I hate that too? "Rebuild America's standing with the world?" What is that supposed to mean? I'd like some concrete examples, please. We help people around the world who hate us!
Why can't the developing world develop on it's own? Apparently, helping them isn't doing a damn thing and they still hate us!
darcy... not my question, but I happened to be here.
Zionism is the nationalist part of it - wanting a country of Israel to "possess" and call their own. That's why Islam hates the Jews the most - for actually wanting a nation which happens to be in their midst. But I think they would hate them anyway, they are so good at hating.
Jewdog sez:
'The reason I differ, is that while Jews had issues with Muslims before Israel, the really virulent hatred didn't arise until Jews broke the dhimma with Zionism.'
Two things:
when Jews were dhimmi's they were useful to the Mo's, besides most Muslims were (and still are) illiterate and ignorant, and don't know a fraction of what we know about the Koran & the hadith, so they simply listen to the hate-preachers in the mosques.
So whenever the imam screamed 'itbach al yahood!' the Jews were in for a bloodbath, other than that their respective rulers put some restraints on them, because without the dimmi's nothing gets done in the Islamic state...
I also thought that cancer thing was definitely an analogy from opposite-world! WHO exactly is the metastasizing cancer, and WHO is the body being malignantly attacked???? If almost everything they (the muslims) say is turned around, it would be pretty right.

Thanks,thatisall. 2 questions:
1. When did the Jews "break the dhimma?"
2. What is the etymology of the word "Zion?"
If almost everything they (the muslims) say is turned around, it would be pretty right.

Oh yes. Everything they say about everyone else is actually about them!

powerful and competent since when more like a bad joke that runs off when a confronted by the idf after fireing a few rounds in the air to show each otherjust how great they were aganst the IDF
the same with Iran's Revolutionary guard
darcy -
Ayaan Hirsi Ali said it best on a TV talkshow: By having an independent country, the Jews are no longer dhimmis under Islamic domination. (To paraphrase).
It began in earnest in the mid- to late-19th century when relatively wealthy Jews were able to purchase the mostly-vacant land from absentee Turkish owners.
Middle English Sion, from Old English, from Late Latin Siōn, from Greek Seiōn, from Hebrew ṣiyyôn; see ṣwy2 in Semitic roots.
First mentioned explicitly in the Hebrew Bible in the book of 2 Samuel, relating one of King David's exploits...so roughtly 3000 years old. :)
"Zion" in Hebrew is "Tzi'yon". It usually refers to Jerusalem or the land and/or nation of Israel.
It comes directly from the word "Tzi'yoon", meaning a landmark or a marker, highlighting a location.
Thanks for all the info, people.
Why are Jews called Zionists, and why do Mohammedans say it in a derogatory way?
Do Jews want to be referred to as Zionists?
Bob Marley has the word Zion in his songs. Why?
Fantasia the American Idol winner named her daughter Zion. Why?
However the modern term "Zionism" usually refers to the movement started by Theodore Herzl over 100 years ago. Herzl himself was a secularist and believed in a secular justification for a Jewish Homeland.
There are many religious Jews who therefore reject Zionism by have a tremendous love for Zion and an appreciation of the significance of the Jewish return to Israel.
Lots of semantic confusion here.
Not just Mohammedans. Plenty of Christians and secularists in high positions say it the same way.
Why? In a nutshell, the religious implication of the return of the people to Israel, as prophesized 3000 years ago, is a stick in many a person's life philosophies. Therefore, by denying Zionism legitimacy, they will attempt to prove G-d wrong, so to speak.
See what I wrote earlier.
He sang "By the Rivers of Babylon." He was actually singing Psalm 137.
Lots of Christians have biblical names, especially those referring to times of redemption.
Why are Jews called Zionists, and why do Mohammedans say it in a derogatory way?
Darcy,
The mohammedans assume that anyone and everyone who wants the Jews to return to their ancient homeland is Jewish. Meanwhile, being Jewish doesn't make you a Zionist (not all Jews hungered for the reestablishment of Israel) and being Zionist doesn't make you a Jew (many Christians seek the state of Israel, believing it to be one of the harbingers of Christ's return).
America has a national park named Zion. It's in Utah. Maybe the Mormon community played a part in choosing the name? It's a beautiful place.
Islam is the cancer.
Hezbollah and Iran must first complete the destruction of Lebanon's sovereignty and independence; this is really an admission by apocalyptic Mahdists that the Palestinians and their "cause" are secondary and ultimately irrelavant.
That all of the lands in the ME are Mohammedan and that such a ruckus is made over tiny Israel by the Mohammedans just shows that the ruckus is from hatred, not from reason.
Brigitte Gabriel refers to the Mohametan lands in the ME as "tribes with flags."
Well, I guess I'm a Zionist because I definitely want Jews to retain Israel!
I had never heard of Alexander Herzl, so:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theodor_Herzl
In this Wiki, why is Israel referred to as Palestine in the early 20th century?
I'm not Jewish, I'm Christian, and I know very little Jewish history.
"In the near future, we will witness the destruction of the cancerous existence of Israel...'
How many times have we heard the likes of that? Well, enough to move the west into complacency. They know what they are doing. The west is already in submission. All they need now is Obama and the conditions are set.
Points of information:
1. Zion (Mount Zion) is one of the hills of Jerusalem. The name was used to denote Jerusalem, itself, particularly when describing the feelings towards the city and what it represents on the part of those exiled from the city - cf Psalm 137 (Shy Guy)
2. Virulent hatred of Jews by some Arabs and its physical expression run through their history and have both religious roots, as described above, and nationalistic roots. It's irrespective of the circumstances. Jews formed the sandwich between the British and French colonial masters during the Palestine Mandate and in North Africa, a source of plunder in the years following Israel's independence and are victims on the street in present-day British and French cities. Tolerated as long as they are dhimmis.
3. "Powerful and competent hands" is the translation of part of the Revolutionary Guards commander's statement here and on the BBC website. In the Jerusalem Post, it reads "radiation", and Israel has complained to the UN Security Council. I think the intent is clear. I just wonder if the stuff in Hizbollah's hands is what the Russians transported from Iraq to Syria in December 2002 or whether it's of more recent Iranian or North Korean provenance.
darcy
you wrote 'I'm Christian and I know very little Jewish history'.
A good place to start, from the Christian side, is with James Parkes: 'Church and Synagogue' (warning: read it, and weep).
Parkes' 'Whose Land?' and 'The Story of Jerusalem' are very useful. 'Whose Land?' focuses in on the land of Israel and the Jews there. It isn't perfect, but it provides a handy summary - and it gives one a very clear idea of the many varieties of misery and ruin, century after century, to which the Holy Land, Eretz Israel, and all its non-Muslim inhabitants, Jews, Christians and Samaritans, were subjected after it was invaded and occupied, greedily exploited and atrociously misgoverned, by the Arab Muslims and their Muslim successors (e.g. the Turks). The astounding thing is not that the surviving Jewish communities in eretz Israel, by the 18th century, were small - but rather, that they had survived at all, despite everything the murderous followers of Mohammed ha-Meshugga had thrown at them.
Another book I found helpful was a little old Pelican paperback by Isidore Epstein, called 'Judaism'. It's not a history as such but if one reads it with an eye to people, dates and places one gets a sense of where the Jews were, and what was happening to them, right across the diaspora and also in the land of Israel, from Byzantine times through to the present day. One grasps the force of Hugh's phrase about the Jews, as used on this very website - "the most persecuted tribe in human history".
Epstein's book includes this interesting observation, coming after the author has noted the strong connections between the 8th and 9th century Jewish community in Italy, and the Jewish community in 'Palestine':
"The connexions of the Jews of *other* Christian European countries with Palestine were rather limited. Nevertheless, in the absence of any other direct centre of influence, they were guided in many matters relating not only to ritual but also to marriage and divorce and civil law, by usages that originated in the Holy Land. On the other hand, the Jews who lived in Mohammedan countries had their centre of influence in the Babylonian academies with which they were in constant communication by correspondence, and by which they were guided in all their religious usage and practices."
"Thus began to take shape those two great Jewish traditions which, by the eleventh century, came to be represented , on the one hand, by the Jews who lived in the Moslem world and in Spain, and called Sephardim, reflecting Babylonian influence, and, on the other hand, by those designated Ashkenazim, reflecting Palestinian influence, who lived in Italy, France and Germany." (p. 186).
So: the spiritual and physical link between Jews in Europe and the remnant Jewish community in 'palestine', has existed since the earliest times of the diaspora.
Darcy - have you read Bat Yeor's "The Dhimmi: Jews and Christians Under Islam", yet? Lots of Jewish history in that, too; as there is, also, along the way, in Bostom's "Legacy of Jihad" (use the index).
The central thing to grasp, is that the common assumption by many Christians (indeed, by quite a lot of westerners) that not one single Jew lived in the land of Israel from the time that the Romans destroyed the temple, up until the 1880s, Theodore Herzl and modern Zionism, the assumption that for nearly 2000 years eretz Israel was perfectly judenrein, is...wrong, wrong, wrong.
A final note.
All people with a background in English protestantism, and who love the King James Bible, should reflect on this passage in Epstein's 'Judaism', p. 269, referring to the late medieval Jewish Biblical interpreter, Rashi (Rabbi Solomon ben Isaac of Troyes, 1040-1105):
"Rashi's Commentary on the Bible also influenced greatly the Christian world. Nicholas de Lyra (1265-1349) who is an important link between the Middle Ages and the Reformation, quotes Rashi constantly in his Commentaries, which in turn was one of the main sources Luther used in his translation; and many of Rashi's interpretations entered into the King James translation of the Bible".
And then this:
"David Kimchi of Narbonne (1160-1235) developed the strictly grammatical method, and by his lucidity and thoroughness established for his commentaries supremacy in the field of Biblical exegesis. His works exercised considerable influence on Christian Hebraists at the time of the Reformation, and the translators of the English Authorized Version owed so much to him that they are said as it were to 'have sat at the feet of Kimchi."
shy guy - I'm sure you could refer darcy (and anyone else here who is interested) to many good and authoritative sources for Jewish history, both online and in print. But these are the ones that started me on a voyage of discovery.
Islam: the nucleus of kook-leus.
Today, [it seems] very can few see God's hand in these things.
Nobody studies the Bible these days.
Men have become 'blind'.
Muslims are playing the West like a fiddle, Dubya in particular.
And God, is playing the muslims like a fiddle.
:)
According to the Koran, 'Allah is the best of schemers.'
And they (the disbelievers) schemed, and Allah schemed (against them): and Allah is the best of schemers.

And in the Bible, the *God of Israel* is attributed thus,
Job 12:16
With him is strength and wisdom: the deceived *and the deceiver* are his.
This next Jeremiah text *mirrors* a primary justification *used by muslims today*, to justify their hatred, and persecution, of Jewish people.
i.e. The Jews sinned against Allah, and broke his Sabbaths, etc, etc....
Jeremiah 50:7
All that found them have devoured them: and their adversaries said, *We offend not, because they have sinned against the LORD*, the habitation of justice, even the LORD, the hope of their fathers.
But the Holy One of Israel has not cast of his chosen, his 'peculiar' people.
Psalms 135:4
For the LORD hath chosen Jacob unto himself, and Israel for his peculiar treasure.
Isaiah 44:8
Fear ye not [Israel], neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? [Israel] *ye are even my witnesses*. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.
Ezekiel 38:16
And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; *it shall be in the latter days*, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.
Romans 11:26
And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: *but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes*.
29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
30 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:
31 Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.
32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.
With comments like these, can we really afford Obamas "surrender dividend"?
Wow - thanks for all the info, people!
