DAVANAGERE: Suspected terrorist Riyazuddin Nasir alias Mohammed Ghouse wanted to visit the United States and spread terror there, he has told interrogators.
Since it was difficult to gain entry into the US, Ghouse had twice pleaded with terrorist leaders to at least send him to Iraq to work as a fidayeen — an extremist who equips himself with arms and ammunition and strikes a target, causing mass destruction.
However, the terrorist leaders persuaded him to drop the idea as they thought "there is so much to do in India".

Ghouse, who was well informed about post-9/11 incidents, grudged the American invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan.
Investigations have revealed that Ghouse visited Mecca thrice for umrah (a pilgrimage undertaken during the non-Haj season), on a family passport that had a validity of 10 years up to December 2006.
He first visited Mecca as a child in 1996. In 2005, during his second trip, he met Abdul Samad, brother of South India's most wanted terrorist, Shahid Bilal, and reportedly expressed his willingness to go to Iraq as a fidayee to fight American forces.
However, his plan did not materialize. In 2006, Samad got Ghouse a fake passport and sent him to Pakistan. While undergoing training there, Ghouse again expressed his keenness to go to Iraq. But Bilal stopped him.
After Ghouse completed his training in Pakistan — from May 2006 to January 2007 — he was sent to India through the Nepal border with a mission: indulge in subversion and disturb peace.
Besides use of arms and explosives, Ghouse was trained in operating computers, reading and drawing maps, sketching and horse riding. "He has a graphic memory and is very quick in drawing maps," a police officer says.

Ghouse had planned to blast the Andhra Pradesh police headquarters in Hyderabad. The arrest of his father and brother, and the case booked against him by the Hyderabad police, made a teenage Ghouse drop out of college and take the path of jihad.
A senior IPS officer narrates an argument he had with Ghouse on jihad. When the officer pointed out that Islam shuns violence, Ghouse is supposed to have said: "Jihad is a holy struggle in the name of Allah." The officer says: "After half an hour, I gave up because I realized it would be impossible to convince him."
Ghouse and his associate Asadullah Abubaker, who were arrested in Davanagere district on charges of terrorism, are in police custody.

In 1947 Hindus were 25 and 30 percent population of Pakistan and Bangladesh respectively. Now is it less than one percent in Pakistan and about 5% in Bangladesh. Muslim population in India was about 9% in 1947 and today even after mass Hindu migration from Pakistan and Bangladesh, Muslim population has climed up to almost 20%.

Shyamsunder, no offence but India has proven itself pathetic in dealing with Islamic terrorism. Just look at India's history. 1000 years of Islamic Rule. Why? How could tens of thousands (Muslims) control Hundreds of millions (Indians)?
The elites in India now as before are willing to sacrifice the masses for their own personal/ familial gain. They simply believe its "karma" for them if they are ruled by someone else. I don't hold out any hope for India. It will go to war with itself sooner or later.
Failing which, similar to what's happened along the border with Bangladesh, ten or more million Pakistanis will flee across the border to India when Pakistan fails. Do you believe Iran will take in Pakistani refugees? No, but India will, believing that their Islam following brothers are in need of help. Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Kashmir, and Delhi will be flooded with refugees. It's only a matter of time.
If India were a serious country, it wouldn't have let over 10 million Bangladeshis into India and given them proof of citizenship (ie: ration cards). Bangladeshis virtually control all of the Northeast of India. Why else are Assamese and others fighting for Independence (so they can take care of the Bangladeshis themselves cuz India won't)?

Add to that the fact that in Left Bengal, people are so indoctrinated with Marxism that blocking Islam from coming to India doesn't make sense to them. That's very different from the states you mention, where a Marxist POV is almost non-existant, even among the Nehruvian Congresspeople in those states.
One more thing, Jalandhar. The reason Jihadi activities of late have been originating in Bangladesh, rather than Pakistan, is that it's been tough to get from Pakistan to India, but given the almost open border between Bangladesh & India, it's simply made more sense for Jihadis to base their activities from the latter. Hence you see terrorist activities, such as the attacks in Mumbai, Lucknow, Faizabad, Varanasi, Bangalore, et al originate from Bangladesh, as opposed to Pakistan.
In other words, don't assume about Pakistan what's true about Bangladesh.
From the above posts it is amply clear that apart from other areas of the world e.g.Africa and Mid East , the South Asea too is a sleeping giant of confussion. It has the potential of awakening the whole world from its politically correct approach just to accomodate Muslims all over. Shouldn't be telling this proudly, but then the reality should be told, however bitter.
Indians are the most pathetic in law enforcement, especially if it involves muslim criminals. So much so that even in straightforward cases involving law and order, the muslim culprits are let go scot free after legal acrobatics.
That this has come to international light itself should be by now sending jitters down the spine of the Hindu politicians, who are ever afraid of "losing" the muslim "vote bank."
This cringing towards muslims takes place in every election, even if it means to give in to the most foolish demands of that community.
This cringing takes place though it is known that muslims are known for ungratefulness (after all, they are supposed to follow the way of their profiteer...er...prophet).
As someone has rightly pointed out in the posts above, the Hindus have sacrificed their masses, or more exactly, their culture for a Faustian peace with muslims.
