A Stop-The-Presses! Alert from Dhimmi Britannia. From the Daily Mail (thanks to all who sent this in):
Britain has become a soft touch for terrorists, leading defence experts warn today. The world-renowned Royal United Services Institute has delivered an unprecedented attack on the Government's security policy.
It warns that a failure to "lay down the line" to immigrant populations is undermining the fight against domestic extremism.
It condemns the country's "fragmented" national identity and obsession with multiculturalism.
And it accuses ministers of a "piecemeal and erratic response" to urgent threats to the nation and of starving the armed forces of cash to the point of "chronic disrepair".
The security think tank, which has unrivalled contact with senior political and military figures, urges ministers to abandon "flabby and bogus strategic thinking" and to make the defence of the realm the "first duty of Government".
The bleak assessment comes as top security officials warn that planned job cuts could undermine the UK's intelligence performance.
Read it all.
The realists have been warning for several years now about this very problem that has been looming. But, the near sighted PC crap elitists couldn't digest it, at all.
Now whatcha goin' to do? Are you able to brainwash Islam out of millions of Islamists in all of Europe? No. Never. You're stuck with it. "Chronic disrepair". The damage is done.
On the potentially brighter side: USA, Canada, Australia, are you paying attention yet?
Please let this be the warning to the West that it just doesn't work.
Multicultural means the insidious nature of islam will always take advantage and pollute the best intentions of a free society.
Secularism is the only way forward.
Peace

Amen.
Peace ~ through preparation and superior firepower.
You can have peace and you can have freedom, just don't count on having them both at the same time.

Sorry, I don't understand any of this.

Yes, we really must address this failure to "lay down the line" to our Buddhist, Hindu, Sikh, Jewish, Christian and Mormon immigrants.
No need to worry about our Muslims. After all, Islam is peace. Right?
It would be a good thing if young males in Western Europe were drafted -- as they were until just a few decades ago. They need to receive some knowledge of weaponry, need to experience discipline, need certain kinds of training and a certain attitude. They should all be considered members of the national Reserves, and their attitudes, as a consequence of such training, may change in salutary ways. Possibly such training could be combined with required courses in the history and culture of the particular nation-state, with heavy emphasis on freedom of expression in art, the habit of free inquiry that underlies science, and the individualism (so different from the collectivism of Islam)that has led to the recognition of, and solicitousness for, the rights of the individual, all of which characterize the societies of the advanced West, and all of which would not exist for one minute in a society suffused with Islam.

On the draft:
I'm against it for N. America and Europe. It's far more likely to lead many, many men to die in harebrained schemes or policing nutters halfway around the globe, given politics, than to have a cultural benefit that outweighs such loss (recall the demographic battle).
Even worse scenarios than those are possible in the future, taking into account the influence of oil money on politics in the US, and the Islamification of the political class of Europe. Wasn't there a post recently about the Saudis' American "slaves"? Think along those lines.
Dearth of a draft is a useful check on central power, in this era. The politicos have to keep making a case to the ordinary people to win recruits. That's good.
Israel appears not quite so crazy -- and smaller, and having an more homogenous ethnic identity -- so they can get away with a draft without the political or social mess it would cause in the US or EU (more national diversity, more resistance to compelled military membership). Good for them, but that doesn't mean it would work for us.
I'm heavily in favor of individuals choosing to maintain firearms and fighting skills. People should form clubs - target practice and hunting are healthier and more fun than video games. That's not something as established or serious as the military but the US was once big on militias, and such recreational shooting clubs could develop an organizational ethos that could dovetail with recruitment. Integrate it with paintball outings and market it toward video game loving 16-24 year olds, and you may have something.
I'm in favor of the military, and usually in favor of people joining the military (I'm female, and my dad, a vet, forbade it of me, though it would have paid my tuition). However I'm also in favor of people refraining from joining the military when its leaders are being total idiots.
With the shooting club/ old-school citizens' militia idea you get some of the benefits, and without the drawbacks.
Culture and art and core Western/ Enlightenment philosophy - it would be nice if the schools did that sort of thing, instead of promoting cultural relativism, wouldn't it?
Recipe for Britain:
href="http://www.independent.co.uk/opinion/commentators/johann-hari/johann-hari-rowan-williams-has-shown-us-one-thing-ndash-why-multiculturalism-must-be-abandoned-780710.html
It's called "liberalism", in the classical sense.
You can wear big black ghost sheets, or PVC hotpants, or jeans and polo shirts. Be blonde, or have an afro, or a green mohawk. Worship as you think right and true... provided that doesn't involve infringing on the rights of others.
Remember: killing people over cartoons is murder. Ditto killing them for chaning religion, or dating people you don't like, or wearing the PVC hotpants. That's a solid moral law, it involves others' rights, and following it is not negotiable.
British divorce law should be fair and fairly applied and equally available to women of all skin colors and religious backgrounds.
How much more elegent and just could you get?
Why do leftists have a problem with this?
I followed the link and 'read it all'.
Very interesting. Especially interesting was a little 'information box' with some background on the folks raising the alarm, namely, the RUSI, Royal United Services Institute. It was, we are informed, founded by THE DUKE OF WELLINGTON, in 1831.
One hopes that something of the spirit of the man who successfully defended Britain against Napoleon, still informs the body that he established.
Re. the draft - I think Australia at least could benefit by making sure all our young men (and young women, too) got some basic training. Like Singapore, we are very, very uncomfortably close to Indonesia - 'the world's largest Muslim country', as the MSM are so fond of repeating, and one that appears to be getting rapidly sucked down into the black hole of sharia.
Though if I recommend the draft to my [Australian] politicians (I am the daughter of a man who always fondly remembered his National Service days), I would be emphasising very strongly that Homeland Defence should be THE aim and object, that our manpower and resources are too limited, with too large an area to take care of at home, for us to waste our people in pointless adventures abroad.
I would be emphasising our natural affinity for other non-Muslim societies in our immediate neighbourhood (Papua-New Guina, Philippines, Singapore, Timor Leste, Thailand, India), our vested interest in seeing that they survive and thrive, and that our priority, if and when we do leave our shores, should be to assist those of our non-Muslim neighbours who are struggling to defeat the Jihad.
dumbledoresarmy,
What do you think of women in the military? I think it causes significant difficulties that can nevertheless be somewhat mitigated by limiting women to non-combat roles.
HOWEVER, non-combat roles are also imporant for cycling men through, so as to reduce combat fatigue. Thus I think that the number of women in the military should be limited only to those who want to join. As women wanting to join the military are relatively few in number, the end result is that there are still enough non-combat slots for men in combat roles to rotate through, for stress relief purposes.
My understanding may be off, but that is what it is. I'm much more firmly against drafting women than men, for this reason.
Also, on this,
"I would be emphasising very strongly that Homeland Defence should be THE aim and object, that our manpower and resources are too limited, with too large an area to take care of at home, for us to waste our people in pointless adventures abroad."
Do you think that, once the draft were started, there would be ways, in the current political climate or in any we can expect in the near future, of ensuring that the politicians refrain from wasting your people in pointless adventures abroad? No matter how strongly you emphasize it, whether people will be wasted depends on other political realities.
I don't think there are any reliable such methods to prevent such waste, at least in the US (and quite possibly also Australia, though I know less about it).
In the current and forseeable political climates, I think we're more likely to see a draft leading to sorts of things like fighting AGAINST Orthodox Christians in the Balkans, on average. (Not that in particular, but that sort of thing.)
Multiculturalism leads to nothing but trouble everywhere it has been advocated. Want proof? Look at places that have uniculturalism, such as Japan, China and Korea. These places are not perfect and they do have Koranists too but for the most part they are not causing the headaches there that we have in the West. Rather than fawning all over this bunch and throwing all sorts of perks at them the people there view them warily as some sort of freaks. We can learn something from the East regarding Islamania.
What is most interesting about this report is the Government's reaction to it. A senior defence minister was on BBC Radio 4 on the day and informed the public that,
“They're all retired admirals and generals living in places like Salisbury”.
To translate this for non-UK posters "All retired admirals and generals" means, “They just a bunch of upper-class rednecks and reactionaries”
Salisbury is a very pleasant small cathedral town in a still rural part of Southwest England and just a bit off the beaten track.
So “Living in places like Salisbury” translates as “They do not know anything about our rich diverse multicultural society because they do not live in it”
Most interesting of all was the Ministers statement “The government does not recognise the country they are talking about”
On the one hand this again says they are ignorant. But on the other hand in politics and diplomacy the refusal to recognise the country is a political act and not the statement of reality. For example the US refused to recognise communist China for over 20 years even though that was a very large reality. So effectively the government to is saying,
“It's there, it's a big problem, we dare not deny it but we are afraid to do anything about it so for political reasons we are ignoring it”
BTW I checked the BBC's News 24 website report for posted comments. Whether it is because I am cyber challenged or looking in the wrong place I couldn't find any although there was posting board. BBC website comments are censored, sorry moderated, could the absence of comments be due to the fact that the public response was supportive?
wake up britain please before its to late
Was it hysterical post-colonial guilt that destroyed Britain's "cultural immune system"?
"Multiculturalism" is a conceptual form of "infection" that takes advantage of the weakness caused by a socoiological "autoimmune disorder" - whatever the specific origin.
The symptoms are "self loathing", "self-division", and "the delusional exaggeration of one's own guilt while downplaying everyone else's".
"Swallowing anything" is the most common symptom.
With the ability to puke out poisons being lost.
Rue Britannia!
I live in Britain and I would not recommend anyone treating the country as a safe nation, There are probably as many active terrorists here now than there are in most Muslim countries.
Political correctness and a bogus charity, actually a political pressure group, known as "Common Purpose" (look it up) is one of those who have destroyed the country.
unfortunately this country is now lost, it is effectively West Waziristan.
