Three Afghans arrested in Indian airport with fake Mexican passports

Hmmm. Now what could Afghan nationals who don't speak Spanish want with Mexican passports? It boggles the mind! Maybe they were hoping to make their way to Mexico City for conferences with Mexican leaders on improving Afghan/Mexican relations. Or maybe they were hoping to craft a new brand of Afghan/mariachi world music. Or maybe...

"Three Afghan nationals held at Nedumbaserry Airport," from United News of India (thanks to the Jawa Report):

Kochi, Feb 13 (UNI) Three Afghan nationals were arrested at the Nedumbaserry International Airport, near here, today for travelling on fake Mexican passports, Immigration officials said.

The three were earlier in the day deported from Kuwait after authorities there doubted their claim to be Mexican nationals.

Immigration and other security officials interrogated the three for several hours and finally arrested them on charges of travelling on forged passports.

According to Immgiration officials, they were Afghan nationals trying to go to France. However, their real names have not been disclosed so far.

The Mexican passports which they were carrying identified them as Antonio Lopez Juan (42), Javier Sanchez Alberto (20) and Atonio Lopez Ernesto (16). They had left from Nedumbaserry Airport on February 11 for Kuwait en route to France.

However, the emigration officials at Kuwait had found them to be suspects as they reportedly could not understand any Spanish. They also suspected the passports to be forged. The three were then deported to Nedumbaserry today....

Maybe what gave them away is the mixup of the Mexican names - "Antonio Lopez Ernesto" - hmmmmm.

Something tells me that this isn't likely to have been "case 0" for jihadists entering our country via Mexico.

Nothing to worry about; go on about your business; nothing to see here...

THIS is the sort of thing that will cost us dearly one day. We should always have our open society, but not wide-open borders.
Sleep well everyone!

Raised suspicions that they wore turbans instead of sombrero's and never once was uttered the words "hey, Gringo where da tequila"!!

"The three were earlier in the day deported from Kuwait after authorities there doubted their claim to be Mexican nationals."

How could there have been any doubt at all? So much for people of the Middle East being able to tell the difference between Hispanics and central Asiatics. If even Kuwaitis could be in doubt, how well will Texas border guards be able to discriminate?

Ne-dumb-ass-erry. How appropriate.

Or maybe they were hoping to craft a new brand of Afghan/mariachi world music. Or maybe...

Maybe they were off to explore all those Olmec, Maya and Aztec ruins, in an effort to those that all these civilizations were really muslim.

I heard they were on the way to an Amway meeting. So cut these guys some slack, eh?

If one understands the naming nomenclature of Spanish names, they are all related on the father's side. The arrangement is Christian name, Father's last name, Mother's last name. So the Lopez's, two cousins and a father or uncle, were just trying to "get to France".

A little known secret is that there is a long-lost branch of the Lopez family that disappeared years ago trying to find their way in the Sonoran desert to the US of A, where they hoped to find work as bowling pin setters. The bowling industry had just collapsed in Mexico and they were destitute. This particular portion of the grand Lopez tribe were never known for being particularly sharp, and, as luck would have it, somehow came out of the desert in Afghanistan.

It only took a couple of generations, (I said these guys weren't very sharp), and they lost their mother tongue as well. They had been keeping it in a small sack cloth which was mislaid during a sandstorm. It could happen to anyone.

Now they have really fallen on hard times. Rejected in Kuwait, arrested in India, it seems like these sad poor Mexicans will never again find their way to a happy life setting bowling pins.

This should serve as a cautionary tale for all those who tempt fate and try to cross deserts for the sake of bowling pins.

(I can tell you're having a hard time believing my story. But you do have to admit it's better than the one they came up with...) ;-)
Shalom,
Theosebes

Gee, I wonder what the Mexicans think about people using fraudulent government documents in an attempt to establish a fake identity and justify their presence on foreign soil.

I bet none of those guys can correctly pronounce the name 'Javier', but youtube would like to see them try...

Does Calderon know about this?

Where is Calderon?

Oh wait, he's in the U.S. giving his anti-American rant.

Flipper, amigo, you'd best stay home and watch the store eh.......?

No habla englaish, por favor.

"If even Kuwaitis could be in doubt, how well will Texas border guards be able to discriminate?"

Cantor,

Texas border guards won't even try to discriminate. It could get them fired for racial profiling or, worse, land them in jail if they shoot someone. The "border guards" are now the welcoming committee. Anyone and everyone who comes across from Mexico is "seeking a better life".

Fake Prophet.

Fake Religion.

Fake Passports.

Is there a connection?

My guess is that they were planning to sneak into the USA so they could vote for Obama at the next election!

Robert, stop making these crazy stories up.

So, you're not buying that these three OTMs happen to be the 1 in 10,000,000 (0.00001%) who aren't "just looking for a better life"? Me neither.

It's estimated that the U.S. now has up to 20% of the entire population of Mexico inside the United States illegally. Obviously, our leaders are dedicated to keeping the free flow of "labor" across borders at all costs.

What will be the costs of this policy? Will it just be suppressed wages for both legal and illegal workers in the U.S., or something much worse? What percentage of the world's 1.2 billion Muslims are "martyrdom seekers"; 1 percent, 5 percent? And how many of those martyrdom seekers are coming across our Southern border? It only took 19 for the final execution of 9/11.

Are the pennies that our economy gains, if there is a net gain, worth the increased possibility of street warfare in the future? Or, is this policy the definition of penny wise and pound foolish.

Our leaders appear to be suffering from a split personality malady when the say we should be simultaneously 'on the lookout' for suspicious behavior and not engaging our reasoning powers to discriminate possible needles from a very large haystack. It seems reasonable to me that they should at least quit adding hay.

I guess I must be racist just for asking these questions, but I have a lot of Hispanic friends down here in Arizona asking the same questions.

Bush sends 1.4 billion on border control to....Mexico. Yes, Mexico's southern border, not ours. Aaaarrrrgggghhhh!

When you want good electronics you buy Japanese. Cars you go German. Fake credentials you go Mexican. The people are experts, producing them by the millions.

I guess the thought must be to bypass the cost and political correctness problems associated with securing our own border and move them to a smaller, less expensive, more remote part of the globe.

Unfortunately, these three guy's would have simply bypassed Mexico's southern border, had their stories and paperwork held up.
