The motivation for a female jihad-martyrdom bomber is murkier than for a male one. The libidinous aspect is not there, but there have been reports that at least some of these female bombers, if not the ones involved in these Baghdad attacks, are women who have come to be considered as having sullied the family's purity, and as such, their surest path to Paradise is to take hold of Allah's guarantee of it to those who "kill and are killed" for him (Qur'an 9:111). And that promise, of course, may be attractive also to those who do not otherwise face immediate death.

Muslims are the ultimate victims of Islam. Their feeling of being victimized is justified, but the Jihad scholars are very busy directing that feeling towards us rather than towards Islam, where it really belong.

I read the disjointed and biased article, and decided that the girl who wrote it is just a silly little twit. She's not worth the effort of leaving a comment, since it would only bolster her ideas of her own importance.
She's in college, and already her opinions are set in stone. She gets a little "hate mail", so she must be right, right? Riiiiigggghhht.
What she fails to understand is that colleges are always going to humor people like her, because bias "sells", and no one can generate bias like a Mohammedan.
Someone probably told her that JW was a hate site, so she thought (probably without so much as taking a peek at JW), "I'm going to write about this hate site and all the nasty non-Mohammedan haters in the world!"
She's being played for a fool, and doesn't have a clue.

On Jpost online there is a letter to the editor from a Saudi girl who refused to give her name. In it she refutes Carolyn Glick's article about SA and the way it treats women.
She also invites Ms Glick to visit SA and to befriend a Saudi to get the 'real picture'. Yeah, that'll work for an Israeli.
By the way in her first column she advocated "pretending sickness' to avoid shaking hands with a Kaffir. I thought she believed lying is a sin?

I posted a four-page reply to Shirien Elmasraya and provided the link to the online MSA compendium of texts. I included my own two-page essay on the incompatibility between Islamic law and our Constitution. This is the one that I sent to about 50 political and religious leaders around the country.
Let's hope people read some of it and actually go out and verify the citations through the links I provided.
She's using ad-hominen, appeal to force and veiled threats to push her argument home. And she tries to play the victim. All standard ploys from the playbook. It's not her that we should be concerned about -- it's about all those watching us go up against the Shiren Elmasrayas of the world. We're really only going to make a difference in those people, but it's a start.

This is off-topic, but we had our home broken into yesterday. Nothing was stolen--I think the burglar was interupted by the construction crew arriving next door.
The burglar left the back door open when he left. We have a number of cats--most of them just hid until I arrived home. Two of the cats, though--former strays that we rescued--are missing.
I'm putting up lost pet posters, and putting out food nearby and in their old stray haunts.
Then this morning I hear about the terrible suicide bombings at the pet markets in Baghdad.
It is possible that the bombers targetted the pet markets just because they were crowded places, but I think it more likely that the murderers consider having pets "un-Islamic".
Islam has alwaqys been equivical at best about animals. Many Muslims hate all pets, especially dogs.

Hello all,
I'm a jihadwatch.org reader and have several of Robert Spencer's books. I've done my own independent research into the whole "Islamic Question" and have read widely on the subject, including the complete Qur'an in two different translations, many of the Hadith Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim and large selections from the Sira ( biography of Mohammed) Those three sources are the holy canon of Islam. They are the wellspring of this 1400-year-old Total Way of Life.
Now the problem I see is that Muslims, well intentioned or not, will not face the facts. Islam the belief system is the foundation of all the terrorism we see today. The jihadis and terrorists can justify their behaviors in Islamic teaching. They can also attempt to recruit others into their ranks by arguing that they are ‘True Muslims’ and are the ‘Holy and Pure’. Why is this?
All four recognized major schools of Islamic thought condone and even promote violent jihad. All four promote the idea that the world is divided into two houses, the house of Islam and the house of War ( infidel lands like the United States, India, Thailand, Chechnya, Western Europe, South America, et cetera ) It is taught in all four legitimate schools of Islamic thought that it is the duty of believers to fight so that all the land in the world comes under Muslim control and so that sharia law, Islamic law, overrides any other competing legal system.
The conquest can be done by preaching, overtaking countries demographically, by intimidation or by combat. The end justifies the means, in other words: whichever technique is most convenient and effective. I'm not stating my personal opinions here -- I'm repeating what imams say every Friday afternoon all over the Islamic world.
The problem we have is that good-intentioned people who identify themselves as Muslim will always loose the theological battle. They can't mount an effective counter argument to what Ayman Zawahiri ( al Qaeda's #2 man ) writes in his treatises. Jihadis have the upper hand in terms of history, Mohammed’s life example, the commands of Allah and the rulings of Islamic scholars.
I understand the people like Shirien Elmasraya are in a difficult position. Playing the victim will not help things. If Shirien Elmasraya and others want to do something meaningful, they need to face Islam honestly. Islam is not moderate in its past and present forms. If they want it to have a future they need to face this fact.
As it stands today, Islam the system is utterly incompatible with Western Civilization. This is not to say that Muslim people can't live in the West, but if they fully practice the mainstream, conventional Islam of the Middle East they stand opposed to everything in the West. This is the fundamental problem that needs to be addressed in the Islamic world. Unfortunately, it won't be done until that civilization is forced to do it out of self-preservation. This is not my hope, but I'm realistic about human nature and I look to the past for examples of a moderation somewhere in Islamic history. I don't find much hope for a reformation anywhere. Shirien Elmasraya does nothing to protect her people and her beliefs by playing the victim and trying to confuse Westerners about the Islamic agenda and the acceptable means to further that agenda.

One Cannot Serve Two Masters

Many of our current political leaders like to claim “Islam is a religion of peace.” They are mistaken; Islam is not a merely a religion nor is it peaceful. Islam is more than a religion - it is a complete way of life that combines religion, politics and law. Islam is unique among things calling themselves religions because it allows the use of violence, coercion and deceit to spread itself and to take control over other beliefs and systems[1]. Islam recognizes no other authority on Earth. It’s actually a supremacist system[2] which asserts that Muslims should rule over all other peoples by force if necessary. Islam lays claim to the whole of the earth as a gift from Allah to the ummah (the nation of Islam)[3]. Jihad [holy fighting to further Allah’s agenda on earth] is compulsory for believing Muslims. Because of this, U.S. citizens who practice the whole of Islam are treasonous and those preaching Islam in its entirety are seditious.
Comparing the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights to Islam and sharia law shows they are antithetical and irreconcilable.
For instance:
Amendment I - Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
Contrast this with the Islamic law. People who leave Islam must be killed[4] by Muslims in authority. Muslims can also be tried and punished for not performing religious duties ( praying five times a day, attending Friday prayers at Mosques and so on.) Today in Saudi Arabia all religious texts other than Islamic ones are illegal to possess. The press has no guarantee of freedom or protection in any Islamic nation. Those Jewish and Christian people living under sharia are known as dhimmis, translated ‘protected peoples’, who must submit to the rule of Islamic law and must pay a protection tax called jizya[5] to remain in the good graces of their Muslim master. Religious minorities have no permanent protected rights under this arrangement if they fail to pay the jizya. No one, Muslim or otherwise, has the right to assemble or file grievances against the Islamic ruler. Disobeying the ruler amounts to disobeying Allah and that carries a death sentence.[6]
Property rights? We have Amendment 4 - The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
Sharia provides none of this type of protection for Muslims, let alone dhimmi minorities.
Amendment 5 and 6 limit legal power against the defendant in legal matters.
Amendment 5 - […]nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.
Amendment 6 - In all criminal prosecutions […] a public trial, by an impartial jury of the state and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, […]and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the assistance of counsel for his defense.
In historic and current sharia practice evidence takes the form of the direct testimony of two male witnesses of good character (four in adultery cases). Circumstantial evidence and documents were usually inadmissible. Female witnesses were not allowed except in cases where they held special knowledge, such as childbirth. In such cases, two female witnesses were needed for every male witness and non-Muslims couldn’t testify against Muslims at all. Crimes against Muslims received harsher penalties than crimes against non-Muslims.
Amendment 7 guarantees trial by jury. Jury trials don’t exist in the Islamic system.
Amendment 8 prohibits cruel and unusual punishment. On the other hand, Allah commands crucifixion, amputation or exile for ‘mischief’ against Islam.[7] Stoning women for adultery is still carried out today under sharia in Iran. Hands continue to be amputated on thieves in Saudi Arabia as they have been since the seventh century. Other martial punishments such as whipping are given for more minor offenses like alcohol use, an illegal substance under sharia. Islamic law also prohibits the charging of interest, music, gambling, representational art, photographic images of women and women themselves. Women are banned from complete participation in public life and are to be covered in various degrees according to geography and tradition.
Amendment 9 says the constitution shall not deny rights and Amendment 10 says - The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.
Not so in Islamic nations. Power is concentrated in either the ruler[8] or the ulema, the ruling council of Islamic scholars. They are the arbiters of Islamic law which comes from either the Qur’an, which is claimed to be the eternal, unchangeable word of Allah himself or from the Sunnah, or the body of Mohammed’s deeds and commands from either the Sirat e Rasullah [Mohammed’s biography by Ibn Ishaq] or the Ahadith [collections of reported sayings of Mohammed by, Bukhari, Muslim, Tabari and Ishaq]. All powers and rights belong to Allah alone.
Amendment 13 - Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction. […]
Sharia law continues to see slavery as valid, since the example of Mohammed and the Qur’an still show it as valid.
Also, Muslim men may have forcible sex with women they capture in jihad with Islam’s blessing.[9] In fact, slavery is the basic relationship of Islam. Humans are Allah’s slaves and Submission to the will of Allah is the purpose of life as stated in the Qur’an.[10] Indeed the name of the religion itself, Islam, means “Submission to the will of Allah”[11] as commonly understood in the Islamic world today.
Freedom of conscience to interpret, argue, discuss, criticize and debate are missing from Islamic tradition. Divine command theory, robot mentality, literalism, paranoia and conspiracy theories dominate Islamic traditions and thinking to this very day. Religious training and education on the whole amounts to rote memorization using the Islamic method. Mohammed actually told the people “Allah hates you for asking too many questions.”[12]
Separation of Church and State: This fundamental division of power began with Jesus of Nazareth and his “Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's.” Islam has the example of Mohammed, considered perfect, who had combined religious/ political/legal/social powers which came directly to Mohammed from Allah. Hence, political traditions in Islam stress authoritarianism and theocracy.
Islam is the concentration of religious/political/legal power into a person or persons ‘divinely chosen’ and this is the very thing the patriots of 1776 fought against. Islam is not compatible with the US Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the whole of American Experience. The Constitution and its Bill of Rights are designed to separate political powers, limit them at the federal level, defend individual and minority rights, ensure property rights, separate religion from government and provide protection for the freedoms of religion, conscience and expression. Islam and sharia law protect the rights of the Muslim collective at the expense of religious minorities and institutionalize unequal treatment under the law based on gender or religious belief. Islam does not protect the individual or minority in their physical well-being or in property rights. Sharia attempts to regulate everything, from trivial details of how to use the toilet all the way up to how a Caliphate should be established to rule the world. Islam is an all-encompassing rule for life to be followed without question. This is the exact opposite of a system which protects the individual’s rights of ‘life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.’ Islam stands for slavery while the U.S. Constitution stands for liberty. They are diametrically opposed and incompatible. A person can’t simultaneously believe in Islam and the founding principles of the United States.

I can't help noticing all the conceptual shapeshifting going in Islamic orthodoxy (no wonder Islamic leaders never agree on much about Islam). Most of what passes for doctrine is flexible in one way or another, usually serving to accommodate the endless rounds of killing that inexplicably form the nucleus of this bizarre and bizarrely elastic belief system along with its bloody and strikingly inhuman practices. Islam never stops killing; yet, at the same time, neither does it ever stop putting "spins" on absolutely everything in its cannon. All Islam's elaborately conceived falsehoods always seem to have one thing in common: there is never any factual basis in reality to support ANY of them; what it does is creat more falsehoods in order to support its own essential falsehoods.
In short, what is perceived by outsiders as acts of Islamic terror in my view are in actuality acts of Islamic human sacrifice to the idol Ba-al. This is Islam's dark secret and this is the real reason for the conceptual elasticity (it's a cover up!). be careful about making assumptions. A LOT of people read this blog and comment here. I have read comments here, written by people who have indeed lived in Muslim countries - at least two I can think of, who were non-Muslim refugees from Muslim persecution.
In any case your implied argument - no-one has a right to have an opinion about Islam unless they themselves have lived in a Muslim country - is false.

I know people who have lived in Muslim-dominated lands.
I know a couple who spent years in Pakistan, supporting and encouraging the indigenous Christians. While they were on home leave in Australia, a church in Pakistan that was attended by many of their friends, was attacked by a group of Muslim gunmen who sprayed the congregation with gunfire, killing many people. The Christian school that their children had attended, was invaded by jihadis, and people were killed.
I have personally met Malaysian Chinese Christians who have told me of the subtle and not-so-subtle institutionalised harassment of non-Muslims by Muslims in Malaysia.
I have personally met two Sudanese Christian families who were driven out of their homes, and had many family members tortured and murdered in front of them, in the course of the jihad against the Christians and animists in the southern Sudan.
I trust these witnesses. And what they tell me convinces me that Islam-on-the-ground is bad, bad news; that it fosters violence, cruelty, and injustice.
Oh yes, and I've read the Quran, several times, in a good English translation, and I have no desire to read it in Arabic, nor do I believe that reading it in Arabic would remove the intense feelings of boredom and disgust that it produced in me.

Hi Amy. Your comment's not there so I guess you were censored. Judging from the paucity of the comments, I guess a lot of censoring must be going on. The Muslimah with her terrorist threats to the "Haters" and "Islamophobes" has people nervous I suppose. the greatest thing would be if people would boycott her column, and that she never get another comment.
