They aided the 7/21 would-be jihad-martyrdom bombers. And that once again raises questions about what the Muslim community in Britain is doing, and what Muslim communities all over the West are doing, to teach against the jihad ideology and Islamic supremacism, such that there will be few, if any, "moderate" Muslim jihad sympathizers who will help jihadists in this way. And the answer, of course, is not only that they aren't doing a thing, but also that British authorities aren't asking them to lift a finger to act in any way against this so-called "anti-Islamic" behavior.

A judge denounced the "woefully inadequate" sentencing powers in terrorism cases as he jailed the five men who helped the July 21 would-be suicide bombers for a total of 56 years.Judge Paul Worsley QC said the sentences of between seven and 17 years, dictated by strict guidelines, did not "reflect the enormity" of what the guilty men had done in keeping the plot secret and helping the men who attempted to bomb the London transport system evade justice when their plan went wrong.
He also blamed the men for the death of Jean Charles de Menezes, saying that he would not have been mistaken for one of the bombers and shot by police if the defendants had given up the real bombers instead of hiding them.
Wahbi Mohammed, 25, Abdul Sherif, 30, Siraj Ali, 33, Muhedin Ali, 29, and Ismail Abdurahman, 25, were convicted of a total of 22 charges of failing to disclose information about terrorism and assisting an offender following a four-month trial at Kingston Crown Court in South London.
Mohammed and Siraj Ali were also convicted of having prior knowledge of the plot.
Because prisoners are released after serving half of their sentence, and because they have already served jail time on remand, one of the men, Muhedin Ali, will be eligible for release in just 33 months. [...]

Yes, I'm appalled and so are many others. Unfortunately ignorance is rife and I'm sure that far too many non-Muslims believe the lie: "Islam means peace".
Our elected officials are only interested in two things: money and staying in power.
Doing the right thing is not on their agendas because it risks losing them support, or - even worse - losing them money. There is no way that Winston Churchill would survive in today's political world. He would be dismissed as an Islamophobe, a neo-Nazi, a fascist and a racist.

But, Robert, how CAN they?
How CAN Muslim supremacism and jihadism, concepts enshrined in the Qur'an, be taught against?
How many Muslims would publicly teach that Allah was wrong?
Here in America, wouldn't the more effective approach be to compile a list of Qur'anic chapters and verses (hadith, too, maybe) that violate the U.S. Constitution and relevant American law? And make it public.
A list of actions, driven by Muslim beliefs, that simply will not be tolerated here.
A blunt and comprehensive list.
We don't allow the punitive amputation of urepentent thiefs' hands, despite what 5:38 says.

I have a haunting suspicion that jailing guys like this does us no good and it doesn't better them.
But the civil libertarians and the 'human rights' circus has managed to successfully confuse everybody to a degree that proper action (like Gitmo, targeted assassinations, summary executions & mass deportations) are no longer an option. The resulting non-action destroys our society.

However you must realise that in a British general election, England - Scotland - Northern Ireland - and Wales - all vote to elect politicians into one London based parliament.
The Scots - Welsh and to a large degree, the Irish will vote almost exclusively for the Labour party, which in effect, handicaps the Tories, (Similar to the republicans in the U.S.), to relying exclusively on the English for their ascension to office. This is possible because England is by far the biggest, and most densely populated of the "Home Nations).
As it stands today, the English would almost certainly vote for the Tory party in such numbers as to nullify the wishes of the other three Nations. This in effect is called "democracy British style", as England usually holds sway!!.
