Up to 17,000 women in Britain are being subjected to "honour" related violence, including murder, every year, according to police chiefs.And official figures on forced marriages are the tip of the iceberg, says the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO).
It warns that the number of girls falling victim to forced marriages, kidnappings, sexual assaults, beatings and even murder by relatives intent on upholding the "honour" of their family is up to 35 times higher than official figures suggest.
The crisis, with children as young as 11 having been sent abroad to be married, has prompted the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to call on British consular staff in Bangladesh, India and Pakistan to take more action to identify and help British citizens believed to be the victims of forced marriages in recent years.
The Home Office is drawing up an action plan to tackle honour-based violence which "aims to improve the response of police and other agencies" and "ensure that victims are encouraged to come forward with the knowledge that they will receive the help and support they need". And a Civil Protection Bill coming into effect later this year will give courts greater guidance on dealing with forced marriages.
Commander Steve Allen, head of ACPO's honour-based violence unit, says the true toll of people falling victim to brutal ancient customs is "massively unreported" and far worse than is traditionally accepted. "We work on a figure which suggests it is about 500 cases shared between us and the Forced Marriage Unit per year," he said: "If the generally accepted statistic is that a victim will suffer 35 experiences of domestic violence before they report, then I suspect if you multiplied our reporting by 35 times you may be somewhere near where people's experience is at." His disturbing assessment, made to a committee of MPs last week, comes amid a series of gruesome murders and attacks on British women at the hands of their relatives.

And how much is all of this costing to investigate, and to deal with? And how much of the money in the hard-pressed, nearly bankrupt National Health, goes to treating the children born of marriages between first-cousins (a Muslim desideratum, in Iraq as in Pakistan), which leads to very high rates of congenital malformations and diseases of all kinds -- to be paid for by Infidel taxpayers who do not, byh law, marry first cousins?
When will the Infidels stop bearing the burden of their own, nearly suicidal inability to stand up for themselves, their own legal and political institutions, social arrangements, laws pertaining to marriage (why allow a single polygamous arrangement within Great Britain -- if you are a polygamist, you are not welcome to settle in Great Britain, and if you practice polygamy, that should be sufficient grounds not only for cutting off any conceivable govenment benefits, but for deportation)?
The diseased, semi-demented "tolerance" here has to stop. It's a false "tolerance." It is cruel, cruel to those who fashioned, and cruel to those who rightly inherited, the legacy of the West.

Years ago the Sunday Times reported it was common for 11 & 12 year old girls disappear from schools in Sheffield but no teacher would be quoted about it publicly.
According to a BBC report years ago the British government maintains 3 “safe houses” in Pakistan to smuggle British born muslim girls out of the country
The police unit set up years ago to investigate an estimated 12 honour killings a year seldom seems to prosecute anyone for them. The notable exception was when a girl was hacked to death in the hallway one afternoon and the neighbours heard her screams.
There was a recent report that muslim taxi drivers were keeping families informed about the whereabouts of refuges for muslim women in British cities and actually taking them to them.
So what has changed?
In case it interests, here's a link to a post last June in which the UK authorities “discovered” at least 119 cases which ought to be re-opened due to the suspicious deaths of the young women involved. There's a suggestion the British government has, by deliberate omission, been complicit in the killings. In view of Labour’s endless triangulations regarding violent or threatening behavior by Islamists, the real number it knows about could be anything. Put another way, the British government may have sacrificed a very large number of Muslim women on the alter of its EUrosit and progressofascist agenda.

I had a Turkish friend in Germany who had to run away from home and live in a girls' refuge at about 15 to avoid a forced marriage back in Turkey. This was over 25 years ago. This is not a new phenomenon.
