"We don't want political parties to repeat the mistake which Musharraf committed and follow a path dictated by the U.S."

Back off or else. "Pakistan Taliban warn new government to keep clear," by Kamran Haider for Reuters:

ISLAMABAD, Feb 24 (Reuters) - Pakistan militants linked to al-Qaeda warned any incoming civilian government on Sunday that they would strike even more viciously if President Pervez Musharraf's war on terror was continued in tribal areas.

Following last week's inconclusive election, several political parties are in talks to form a coalition big enough for a ruling majority in the National Assembly. How they deal with the militants will be one of their most pressing challenges.

Maulvi Omar, a spokesman for the Pakistan Taliban, told Reuters by telephone from an undisclosed location that any new operation against militants in tribal areas would lead to violence. "Whoever makes the government, we want to make it clear to them we don't want fighting. We want peace, but if they impose war on us, we will not spare them," he said.

If residents of the tribal areas don't want to obey the law then there is but one answer: remove the law from them. Remove their nation from them. Blockade the tribal areas. People can check in but they can't check out. They can wage jihad all they want - inside the tribal area, on the people of the tribal area. Once the people of that area want to be part of civilization again, they will cease and desist giving aid and support to killers. Until then, no commerce and no aid of any kind goes into that area and no one gets out, for any reason.
Do the Pakistani people support the people of the tribal area in their fight against the government and in their support of al Qaeda? If so, then their claims to moderation are meaningless.

it ain't going to turn out like the generals want it to in Islamabad and PACOM ( or CENTCOM?)

Feom article: "Whoever makes the government, we want to make it clear to them we don't want fighting. We want peace, but if they impose war on us, we will not spare them," he said.

So what does the 'peace' he demands consist of?
The most any government can come up with short of physical victory, is truce. Truce is not peace, not even by Islamic standards. It is a condition where no one is shooting, but everyone is armed to the eye teeth, waiting for someone to slip up. It is better than open conflict, but it is not peace. Pakistan will only see peace when it becomes an Islamic republic. And that peace will last less than an hour. The Taliban will do what Muslims always do during times of truce or peace, fortify themselves for the next round, which they will make sure is coming. There are only two ways Islam can achieve peace. Planetary take over for Allah, after all the infighting stops. Or complete abandonment of Islam. Effectively killing Allah.
Creating the climate, both physically and intellectually for apostasy, is powerful work.
Essentially, this is what Ali Sina et al, are up to. 'To Create an apostate a day, pushes Allah away'...the bumper sticker...

This is how the US plan to replace Musharraf with (Late) Benazir Bhutto; to implanted her as, yet another US proxy in Pakistan, went awry.

Sawami Jee;

Why don’t you come up with your solutions from your Bhagwat Geeta or other Hindu scriptures?

The American government has given about 30 billion dollars worth of aid (and debt relief) to Pakistan since 2001. For that 30 billion, what has been received in return? And no doubt the clever American negotiators demanded that the Pakistanis sign something to the effect that "satisfaction is guaranteed, or your money back." There has been no satisfaction. Time for the money to be given back.

To Swami: Why don’t you come up with your solutions from your Bhagwat Geeta or other Hindu scriptures?

Oh I suppose I could do that, but I would rather find a solution to Islam. It's more fun than poking holes in Gita. Besides, the Gita is not mine.
You should read it and find out what a 'real superior man', is like. Krishna makes a far better deity than Allah. At least he could play the flute.
What can Allah do? Nothing basically. He even needs the help of jihadi's to defend his messenger from cartoons. If Allah were a person, he would need help walking. Allah's only claim to fame is that he wrote a book and hired a good press agent. And you worship that? The American Pat Buchanan did that too, do you worship him as well?
A god that can do nothing is no god. You might as well worship Buchanan, at least he is alive and doing things. It would be a very funny thing, and a subject for a great movie, if Pat suddenly got a following of muslim disciples. I don't see why not, Bush has them....So Khokar, how is your jihad going today? Have you converted anyone?
Are you getting ready to apostate? Pat Buchanan and I, stand ready help you...do it now.
All you have to do is say 'adahahs', three times and you are out. Adahahs is 'Shahada' spelled backwards...

"For that 30 Billion, what has been received in return?"

6 some years of overflight/basing rights. With a few scraps and crumbs thrown in as a bonus.

Could there possibly be any other reason to give these People anything?

PMK.. I love your idea re. the "tribal areas". IMHP it should be put in practice in regards to the entire moslem hemisphere.

None gets OUT. Ever. Until they make up their minds that islam doesn't work without others to hate and kill.. without others to work and support them.

islam only works where there is a host.

The fact that oil was found in moslem countries has brought them funds they would never have had if they had had to work for them.

Let's be honest here.. we are supporting a dealy parasite.. islam.

The US just needs Pakistan to have a government that is cluded into reality. By every measure Pakistan is poor and backward. Yet many in Pakistan still want to build a Muslim Empire in Afganistan and India. Pakistan has nothing to offer the world. Nothing.

The world would be a better place if Pakistan stoped being a base for Muslim Phycopaths. Pakistan could then join the modern world and build a real society. But no you have to constaly fight India. Don't expect the World to help if you want to build an Empire of mud.

They cound not get Musharraf with those roadside bombs, so they got him with democracy. Now, inefficient government and chaos in a Muslim country with nuclear weapons. Cowardeezza Rice with her "democracy for the Muslim people" ... .

Allah Schmallah,

Thanks. It really amounts to what others have said: ban Muslim immigration. If the same policy was implemented by each and every nation that is not under the control of Islam, it would have an impact.
The one thing I would also do that I admit is questionable is deny reentry to anyone who travels from the West to a Muslim-controlled country. It wouldn't matter if you're a citizen of the US, Britain, etc. Unless you're on official business or traveling under the auspices of a government, you cannot come back.
In the words of one of my favorite amusement park rides: you can check in but you can't check out.

ban Muslim immigration.

Okay with me

ban Muslim immigration.

Okay with me too
