Remember that before the Arab invaders arrived, bearing the "gift" of Islam, the land now known as Iraq was inhabited by Christians and, to a lesser extent, Jews. How many of those who, over time, succumbed to islamization, and then arabization, in order to avoid either death, or the harshness -- even if not steady but intermitten, the nature and duration of those intermittencies were never predictable, were Christians and Jews? Answer: almost all of them, for very few Arabs, but ruthless and bent on murder, conquered much larger populations, and then, over time, changed them into "Arabs." One wonders if those "Arabs" ever dare to think about their own distant origins. No, of course not, because for Muslims there was nothing of importance before Islam, or outside of Islam. And the same explains the complete indifference of Pakistanis to the pre-Islamic history of the subcontinent. It doesn't matter. It is of no interest to them, or concern.

A perfect system of complete control. "There was nothing before Islam and there is nothing worthwhile outside of Islam." The only hope is that there will be nothing left of Islam after Islam. And it will come, never fear, there will be a time again without Islam.

They, the Islamics are patient. We can outwait them. We got the food, the arms. The secret to their demise? Don't feed them. Separate from them (keeping for ourselves the oil fields and reserves as long as we need them). No goods, no aid, no arms, no visas, no Moslems in non-Moslem lands, no quarter.

Have we got the guts to do what must be done? A good example would be to cauterize the borders of Gaza, cut off all amenities from Israel, and watch them dry up and wither away.

That means no sob-sister European or American NGOs. No one alllowed in or out of Gaza. Rocketeers targeted and taken out with any whelps and females being used as shields.

Keep the press and all media out--under pain of death. That would be the beginning of how to treat the world of Islam.

They'll either have to lift themselves up by their bootstraps or become extinct, no charity from without--from us.

If they try to come and invade us, let slip the dogs of war--no holding back: Dresden, Nagasaki, Hiroshima.

Islam without conquest or kufar to milk cannot exist. It produces nothing but hatred and violence. If turned inward, Sunni will kill Shi'ite and vice versa.

As my Hindu friend wrote me "Islam must expand. If it cannot expand, it will implode."

The first step is to cull the traitors from our governments. Clean out our institutions of higher learning. De-Moslemify our law enforcement, our armed forces, our media. Next remove Islamics from our countries. How? Use you imagination. No exceptions. Ex-Moslems welcome to stay--no feigning of having cast off Islam though. Ham sandwiches, alcohol, and non-Moslem garb.

The plan is there. All that is needed is the impetus to start. The first step will be difficult--as will all the steps.

Cleaning out State and DOD after Bush al-Saud leaves will be possible--not with any of the candidates standing for the presidency now though.

We have the means, all we need is the will. Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood, Disguise fair nature with hard-favour'd rage . . .

So if the ransom is paid, will they behave and not do it again?

I am sympathetic as an Eastern Catholic wanting to see the bishop returned... We have been praying for him at our parish.

If paying means that EVERY Catholic in Iraq is like a garunteed walking ATM with a sliding scale of value - more for a bishop, less for an average Yousaf...

I want the bishop returned and I say don't give the bastards a penny. If he is not, it will be time to find out who did it and respond exponentially...

I don't wish to take a page from the KGB playbook, but I recall reading that the first time Soviets were kidnapped in the middle east, the KGB came in and delivered the minced corpses of the kidnappers and their families to the headquarters of the terrorist organizations...

Soviets weren't kidnapped after that.

If that is all these people understand, for the good of our nation and ours, it is time to start doing some kidnapping ourselves.

I know exactly where I would start.

I understand that the christians in the countries afflicted by muslims have as much right to be there as anyone else (probably more). But as it is obvious that they are not welcome I think it is incumbent upon western christian countries to offer them asylum.

I wonder if the mass emigration of all christians from muslim dominated countries would seriously effect their economies ? I say this because I am under the distict impression that muslims are so pig ignorant that they cannot even run their own economies.

At the same time we should ban all muslim immigration and forbid the building of mosques in European countries.

I second your motion, but the problem is that the Western elite doesn't realize the problem of islam. they think that all religions are the same, and Islam has been "hijacked" by a Tiny Minority(R).

Change will come only and only when the Western world AS A WHOLE unites itself against the Islamic aggression, and fights against it, just like europe fought against the Muslims for centuries, and guaranteed the survival of Western civilization.

If Christians had kidnapped a top Imam or Mullah, the Church around the world would have mobilized to free him. We would have paid the ransom ourselves.

What do Muslim leaders around the world do? Little or nothing, because we non-Muslims are non-humans. Muslims who don't oppose Muslim violence are complicit in it. This is why we must expel Muslims from Europe and North America who express any support for Shariah law. We must also, except for compassionate reasons, suspend all immigrantion.

This said, we must also realize that Islam is at war with human freedom and dignity. To this end, we must begin a very long Cold War against Islam itself. George W. Bush was an idiot to fight these guys directly. We must undermine their confidence by cutting off foreign aid and redirecting it to non-Muslim border countries like Thailand or Nigeria.

Islam's main fruit is violent jihad and if we fight them directly it gives them an opportunity to "love death more than life." Remember, if they are unable to produce anything economically they will lack the energy to produce war against us. Islam is irrational and can not produce economically, therefore their weakness is economic. Destroy their economies, limit their spread, undermine confidence in the truth claims of Islam (which are absurd). Do these things and we can defeat them. Just consider that they have a very young population. Without an enemy to directly fight, they will turn in on themselves since Islam is holiness through violence. Without us to kill, they will kill themselves. See Iraq for a good example. I wish this wasn't the case, but why should non-Muslims suffer for their terrible religions violence.

We must also accept more non-Muslim refugees from Muslim lands. This too is a form of economic warfare since in many countries the business class is non-Muslim ie Indonesia. Without non-Muslims in their countries they will suffer economically and be weakened.

Yesterday, at the library, I came across a cd of lullabies from all over the world, in numerous languages, one of which was Amazigh, which is spoken in Algeria by the native Berbers. Each of the lullabies was in its own script, and the amazigh script, which is nothing like its Arab overlord's and master's script gave me hope that with in many of these Arabized cultures, there are deep memories being stirred and revived. Ibn Warraq spoke of this phenomenon amongst the Berbers, especially, who are converting out of Islam in large numbers, and even you and Robert have written about it here.
Who knows which way things will be going...Iranians I know dislike the Arab word for their language, Farsi, and prefer Persian. Maybe they will remember other things about Persian history and identity....before the dam breaks and washes it all away.

I am lucky enough meet many Assyrian Christian refugees in Chicago, one of the few groups in the Middle East, like the Chaldeans, to survive the Arab conquest. They lived in Iraq long before the Arabs arrived, and somehow, though a small minority, survived the Islamic steamroller that destroyed the national cultures of most other groups and turned them all into "Arabs", as Hugh writes.

When I first met a group of Assyrians I thought they were Israelis. What is striking about them is how much they have in common with Jews, whom they feel very close to in many ways. When I asked them to recite their alphabet I was very surprised to hear them say, "Alef", "Bet", "Gimel", and so on. Their alphabet, though written differently, uses the same names for the letters as does Hebrew.

That can be refuted by two words. HAMAS & PA. Neither can produce enough, economically, to support their own people. Both have become perpetual, international, welfare states!!! The real shame is the majority of "humanitarian aid" ends up in the bank accounts of these "pig-slamist leaders", or go to buying more arms. (Above and beyond the military arms "Bush al Saud" has already given them. Unwillingly, by the American taxpayers.)
I agree that we need to totally boycott ALL Islamist states, isolate them with a LARGE wall, from modern civilization. It's becoming an existential imperetive.
For America; open up off-shore drilling, open up ANWR and begin immediate negotiations with Canada to share their oil shale reserves. Only trade oil, with OPEC, for food. Raise the oil prices, your food prices rise. We can go longer not driving, than you can go not eating!
