The original publisher of the dreaded Motoons is defiant in the face of Osama bin Laden's newly released threats. From Pajamas Media:
“What kind of civilization are we… if we refrain from mocking and ridiculing bin Laden and his followers?” Flemming Rose responds defiantly to the latest threat against freedom of expression in Europe.Osama bin Laden has been celebrating the birthday of the prophet Mohammed by calling on Muslims to kill people like me, cartoonists and other “blasphemers” who have dared to publish and republish cartoons of a man who lived 1,400 years ago.
Actually, this is nothing new. Bin Laden addressed the cartoon issue two years ago, in a little-noticed speech, when he called the cartoons of Mohammed the worst possible attack on Islam.
“The response will be what you see and not what you hear and let our mothers bereave us if we do not make victorious our messenger of God,” said the voice from the cave in yesterday’s message.
“You went overboard in your unbelief and freed yourselves of the etiquettes of dispute and fighting and went to the extent of publishing these insulting drawings. This is the greatest tragedy and the reckoning for it will be more severe,” it added.
The man from the cave said that the republishing of Kurt Westergaard’s cartoon depicting Muhammed with a bomb in his turban was part of a crusade against Islam. And, according to bin Laden, Pope Benedict XVI is playing a key role in this confrontation, even though the Pope has denounced the publication and republication of the famous cartoon. [...]
Explaining his call for the killing of heretics and blasphemers, bin Laden cited the example of Mohammed himself who is supposed to be a role model for every Muslim. The prophet ordered the killing of Ka’b ibn Al-Ashraf because he had written critical poems about Mohammed.
The latest message from bin Laden has been analyzed by Walid Phares: [...]
Change your laws on liberties and freedom of expression or else. “If there is no check on the freedom of your words then let your hearts be open to the freedom of our hearts.” [...]What should the response of Europe be? More cartoons or less cartoons? What kind of civilization are we, after all, if we refrain from mocking and ridiculing bin Laden and his followers?
A fearful, confused, and cowed one, and that is what we are.
More cartoons please.
These loonies need to experience criticism everyday and every which way.

This is not suprising what Bin Ladin said, it proves that Islam is a weak and brittle religion that cannot stand up to the truth about it. It is the weak running horse refering to what Bin Ladin had said at one time about racing horses. Proof in the pudding is that Pope Benedict XVI baptized a former Muslim at last night's Easter Vigil Mass.
The stronger running horse is the Christian faith, as proven with the addition of new believers.
I vote for more toons.
Too bad the MSM in the US are cowards.
If you are my enemy, and you keep telling me and
showing me what hurts you - then I'll go out of my way to keep on inflicting that thing on you. And I'll appreciate your constant free gifts of ammunition.
And Muslims continue to educate the infidels about the true Islam. Hahaha. Go my Muslim brothers. Time to take to the streets, burn, riot and kill each other.
"Change your laws on liberties and freedom of expression or else. 'If there is no check on the freedom of your words then let your hearts be open to the freedom of our hearts.'"
-- from the article above, quoting Bin Laden and a bit of Walid Phares' analysis
Stop right there.
Read that sentence again from Bin Laden, s-l-o-w-l-y:
"If there is no check on the freedom of your [you, Danes, Dutch, Europeans, Western non-Muslim man] then let your hearts be open to the freedom of our hearts."
It is that last part that might escape notice or understanding: "let your hearts be open to the freedom of our hearts." This sounds nice. It sounds as if it might be part of an Easter sermon. "Let your hearts be open to the freedom of our hearts."
But it isn't nice at all, and would not be the fit subject for an Easter, or any other Christian sermon. It's a threat. It means: if you don't censor yourselves, if you don't limit your own freedom of speech in order to meet Muslim demands, to match Muslim censorship on any "blasphemy" about Muhammad, or any criticism of Islam, then -- then -- you will have to accept the consequences, and what our violent reaction, the "freedom of our hearts" -- will take us. And for you Infidels in the West, who dared not to submit to our demands, go ahead, be prepared. Be ready for --"[l]et your hearts be open" -- for what "our hearts" have in store for you.
Muslim utterances have to be looked at as intently as any crisrixian or empsonian or vendlerite would, in studying a poem by Hardy or Herbert or Tennyson.
So here is the West's choice: knuckle under to OBL or stand up for the right of freedom of the press.
For those who might have missed it, Mohammed has also been Rick Rolled:

The only people carrying on a Crusade against Islam are Muslims like Osama. They are doing more harm to Islam than Westerners could ever dream of doing. Those Muslims who admire Osama and who name their children after him are also harming Islam. They are living proof of the lie of the religion of "peace".
The Crusades of a millenium ago are history. So are the Islamic imperialists who overran the Middle East, Asia and parts of Europe. It's done. It's over. The Muslims who try to rewrite history today are the ones who are hurting their own religion. Those that remain silent and plead that they fear for their own lives if they speak up are no less responsible. Freedom has been won throughout history by people willing to risk their lives not just for themselves but for others. How many Muslims are willing to pledge their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor in the cause of freedom?
Please, ponder on this verse of the Quran: Surah AlZumar 39: 60-63:
60: on the Day of Judgement will you see those who told lies against God:- their faces will turned black; is there not in Hell an abode for the Haughty? 61: but God will deliver the righteous to their place of salvation: no evil shall touch them, nor shall grieve. 62: God is the Creator of all things, and He is the Guardian and Disposer of all affairs. 63:To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth: and those who reject the Signs of God-it is they who will be lost.
May Allah soften your heart to his divine light and forgiveness. Islam is not as what you believe. May Allah bless your soul.
Lenin said,
"The Capitalists will sell us the rope with which we will hang them."
Quite possibly the war will be a war of currency and money. Will oil rich nations buy our assets and companies and enslave us to their economic will. Hopefully we will not sell our assets to Blackstone and others and turn ourselves into a nation of sharecroppers. Will they debase our currency and the value of our assets, by turning from petro dollars to Euros or other currency?
Let's hope that they continue to waste funds on thousands of opulent palaces and luxurious lifestyles. Let's hope that they continue to use memorization of the Koran as the primary test for entry into institutions of higher learning.
Let's hope that the rope is not the nuclear material, expert assistance, and apparatus that Russia and Germany sold to them.
Nora1234,
If ONLY Muslims, as a rule, confined themselves to peaceable entreaty and persuasion, as you do, then more ears would be disposed to listen to them.
"Islam is not as what you believe."
Ahh, Nora, Islam is as it is, in the Koran and the example of Mohammed: rape, murder, assassination, robbery, extortion, arson, slavery, cruelty, torture and above all tyranny. It is perfectly capable of describing itself clearly and succinctly through those avenues. Perhaps you should read your Koran again.
And while you might wish the plotting, scheming Allah, "the best of deceivers" (Koran 3:54, cf. 8:30) to "soften [our] hearts" to these abominations, fortunately many of us remain resistant. Not even the promise of a male-only pornographic Paradise packed with mindless sex slaves -- a vision more repugnant, because it is supposedly eternal, than the temporal offerings of a decadent Western culture -- is enough.
Thank you Marwan'sDaughter. Happy Easter.
I sure hate to burst Fleming' bubble, but Osama want evryone's blood.
From Catch 22 via The Internet Movie Data Base:
Yossarian: Those bastards are trying to kill me.
1st Lt. Milo Minderbinder: No one is trying to kill you sweetheart. Now eat your dessert like a good boy.
Yossarian: Oh yeah? Then why are they shooting at me Milo?
Dobbs: They're shooting at everyone Yossarian.

"Bin Laden addressed the cartoon issue two years ago, in a little-noticed speech, when he called the cartoons of Mohammed the worst possible attack on"
Bin Laden is dead right, that continued publishing of cartoons and other articles critical of Mohammedanism and it's founder are indeed the most effective form to defeat their aggressions against us.
