More evidence of the folly of the Fantasy-Based Policymaking that has us pouring money and materiel into the Palestinian Authority.
By Aaron Klein for WorldNetDaily (thanks to Sr. Soph):
JERUSALEM – The Hamas terrorist group used U.S. weapons against the Israel Defense Forces this weekend, a Hamas official told WND. The weapons were seized when Hamas last June took complete control of the Gaza Strip, overtaking all U.S.-backed security compounds in the territory associated with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah party. "We fired at incoming Israeli helicopters using the seized weapons. We will continue to balance the equilibrium of terror with the Zionists," said Hamas spokesman Abu Oubeida.
Read it all.
Hamas using U.S. weapons
.........................
Is there anyone here on JW who did not see this coming? How then is our own government surprised?
Between the weapons Hamas seized from Fatah during their coup last year, and the continued sub rosa dealings between these two terrorist groups, and the gun running from Egypt into Gaza, especially during the recent breach in the Egyptian/Gaza border, I imagine Gaza is flooded with American arms, which they will happily turn on Israel.
if anyone wants to see how the so called Palestinian peaple use kitman and iles http://www.robat.scl.net/content/NAD/index.php
well the us is not only sending weapons to potential enemies but knowhow and technology. look at china, all that manufacturing and technical know how given to them is put to good use in their huge militery.
This is old news, as well as utterly predictable.
I doubt that they can play tit for tat with Israel for very long. Eventually they will run out of tat.
The dimwit drones who belong to the Kissinger school of thought in the State Department and the CIA haven't learned a darn thing before and since 9/11.
duh_swami -
Tat don't make no sense.
"The U.S. House of Representatives Foreign Operations Appropriations subcommittee earlier halted the aid fearing it would be used to fund terrorism."
Ya think?
US_infidel has it right, except you'd need to go back to the Vietnam era (at least).
As for Britain (circa 1948), spitefully transferring their arms to the arabs while preventing the Jewish settlers in Israel from acquiring any, established the precedent. The fact that Israel found 'work-arounds' is more a testament to their ingenuity than to the West's interest in safeguarding the fledgling Israelis.
