Potemkin protest?

"Tehranis stage anti-Zionist rallies," from IRNA (thanks to Sr. Soph):

Tehrani citizens on Friday staged rallies towards Tehran's Palestine Square and from there to Tehran University in protest at Zionists and the world arrogant powers.

In the rallies were staged on the departure anniversary of the Holy Prophet of Islam Hazrat Mohammad (SAWA) and his grandson Hazrat Hassan ibn Ali (AS) with an aim to condemn recent Zionist crimes in Palestinian occupied territory, especially Gaza, and the Dutch and Danish press insult to Islamic sanctities.

The ralliers, chanting anti-US and anti-Israel slogans in the ceremony in Palestine Square of Tehran, then moved towards Tehran University where Friday prayers, led by Substitute Friday prayers leader of Tehran Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami, is scheduled to be held.

Pitiful zombies. Their lives "devoted" to a false profit who didn't know God from the camel piss he advised everyone to drink.

("profit" spelling intentional).

But you'll hear many Iranian-Americans telling us how really pro-Western Iranian people are. They'll say these demonstrators are thugs owned by Ahmadinejad and they don't really speak for the Iranian people, who secretly love America. I'm not buying it, and won't until they take matters into their own hands and get rid of their government. They've done it before. They can do it again. Actions speak louder than words.

HaRat Mohammed? Shouldn't it be Hazmat Mohammed?

PMK,

these guys don't look like "thugs" to me. Nothing like the little Ahmadinejad--HE looks like a thug!

But look at them, they appear a reputable lot: a college professor, an athlete with a headband--looks like a professional man--the guy with glasses, looking down, as if ashamed to be holding such a stupid sign.

Only the guy at front right looks like a some kind of goon, probably there to keep the rest of the anti-Zionist and anti-American tennis players (see the headbands?) in line.

Iranian pople love American people. Yes, would love to get out from under the stinkin' ayatollahs and come over here, live in Beverly Hills.

That is, a sector of Iranian people would love that. There is the rabble that howled for the ayatollah Khomeini--a real meanie--stormed our embassy, and go to stonings, hangings and other public entertainments, courtesy of Islam and of course the holy prophet, the hazrat.

Yawn... There's a rally, today?

the world arrogant powers.

That would be democracies made superior by freedom of choice and not run by 7th century moon god religions.

Just so we're all clear on that point.

Since those signs were made for our benefit, what if we choose to not take notice?

I guess it is ALWAYS easier to rally against the evils of a nation that is not even a neighbor than look inward at your own problems.

They would be in a hell of a shape if they didn't have "The Zionists" to blame for all these problems they inexplicably cause in these nations with high unemployment, government corruption and poverty...

Man, those Jews are mighty powerful the way they are able to keep Muslims around the world so damned oppressed! One would never think of it at first, how the occupants of 1% of traditional Muslim Lands hold such sway...

But they must, right? Why else dedicated all the protests and column inches in the censored press? Not like there is ANYTHING wrong with their countries caused by their countrymen!

Where's rage boy when they need him? The SOWdis couldn't spare a jet to fly in the top star of the islamic demonstration movement?

I think the guy should go pro. Maybe start an islamic-demonstration academy.

This demo in the picture abouve looks like it weas lightly attended.. a bit of a flat balloon..

The posters are pre-fab like they'd look in a B-movie shot in the late 70s or early 80s.

I am sure they're nostalgious for those days..

Down With Islam!

I think they are demanding JDAM services.

Stage, orchestrate, contrive...like Nazis brimming with Jew-hate they once again hit the streets of Tehran.Ahmad Khatami is an enemy of freedom and truth, and his many followers constitute a real threat to the world. An idelogically inflamed Iran with nuclear capability is not a cheery thought. If the Iranians continue down this path of political/religious statism, only more conflict can result. They cannot win a military battle, the people must know it...so why do they go on?
Oooops, almost forgot, "It's in their book, stupid."
