Seven suspected misunderstanders of Islam in French custody

"In a search of suspects' homes, police found knives, camouflage gear and Islamic documents."

Eurabia Alert. "Seven in French custody for suspected ties with radical Muslims," from the Associated Press:

Five suspected radical Muslims who allegedly trained for combat in hopes of joining the Iraqi insurgency were being held for questioning in southern France, police and judicial officials said Thursday.
A total of seven people were taken into custody Tuesday in the southern cities of Toulouse, Montpellier and Carcassonne, the officials said, speaking on condition of anonymity because of their offices' policies. Two were released Wednesday; the others were still being held.
In a search of suspects' homes, police found knives, camouflage gear and Islamic documents, authorities said.
Authorities believe they had been in contact with radical Muslims who allegedly trained to fight in Iraq by firing weapons in the woods of eastern France. Those suspects were rounded up in a November sweep.

When will thay learn the Iraqis don't want them.

Not until the Iraqis make that perfectly clear. They haven't, as yet.

Bless Oriana Fallaci, a brave woman and an example to us all.

"Toulouse..."

Here is an excerpt from a posting I put up several years ago:

"Does everyone remember that chemical factory in Toulouse that exploded soon after 9/11? The daugher of a friend of mine happened to be moving to Toulouse, and had gone into police headquarters to sort out some paperwork a few days after the explosion. At the time there were reports of a Muslim worker who had been enraged at fellow workers for expressing sympathy for the American victims. There were even reports, at and around the incident, that suggested the Muslim worker had returned and blown up the plant; he had been discharged previously, but his body was found in the explosion.

Back to my story. This young lady (25 years old) overheard some of the French policemen talking among themselves, saying "Don't discuss the Arab with anyone." She herself was French; she distinctly heard this, and came away to convey the tale, and that is how I learned it. Perhaps the meaning was: just don't even dignify the story with a discussion. Or perhaps it meant, as she certainly took it to mean -- we have been instructed from above not to alarm people, and we have to cover up this incident."

France has laws against this behavior?

Regarding the Arab whose carcass was found in the wreckage.
Hugh's post above

Or maybe it meant, don't discuss the Arab because to do so would acknowledge that he had died a martyr and encourage others to emulate and/or admire him. I have far more confidence in the French security services than I do my own. They can get down and dirty but we are losing that art.

I agree with pismopal. The french police will not care too much about an order from above.
They usually take care of the problem on the site with their own means.
The former president in his old days was a coward and unwilling to take a firm stand.
You bet that this guy who was found in the explosion had something to do with it. but they shut up and started working and now they have arrested a few....... a lot more work to do

Offtopic a bit, as regards explosions.

The 'Palestinian' Arab Muslims have been having a lot of 'work accidents' lately. Someone in the jpost talkbacks evoked the example of Haman. Perhaps even Mugniyeh's demise was a 'work accident' and he did it to himself, all by himself.

Perhaps, just perhaps, the Iranians, beavering away on their science project, will also have a magnificent 'work accident'. Or more than one. Tricky stuff, that Infidel science. It requires attention to detail; it requires actual THINKING; it requires co-operation; if just one person is not thinking, not paying attention, does not do the right thing at the right time, cheats on materials, cuts corners, has faked their resume and doesn't know what the hell they're doing because they cheated in that engineering course they did over there in Infidel Land, years ago ....BOOOOOM. Or, alternatively, PFFFT.
