Wilders looking for a broadcaster for his Qur'an film

Delayed, but still coming. "Anti-Quran film to air in Netherlands," by Mike Corder for Associated Press (thanks to Willard):

THE HAGUE, Netherlands - Protesters already have torched Dutch flags in Afghanistan ahead of a new Dutch film portraying Islam's holy book as a "fascist" text that incites violence and preaches the oppression of women and homosexuals.

Well, torching flags will certainly prove that the Qur'an doesn't incite violence!

A Dutch Cabinet minister postponed his trip to Somalia on Friday due to "specific threats" linked to the film, and the Dutch government has urged lawmaker Geert Wilders to scrap his film for the safety of its citizens abroad.

But Wilders said Monday he has begun negotiations with Dutch broadcasters about airing the 15-minute film, "Fitna." He said he will only allow them to show it in its entirety, and if they refuse, he plans to show it to the media and post it on the Internet.

"We have never learned to be intolerant toward people who are intolerant toward us, toward cultures that are intolerant toward us," he said in a recent Associated Press interview....

If it airs, Dutch Muslims are expected to file criminal complaints for racial or religious vilification. Prosecutors would then have to decide whether to charge Wilders with any offense.

Will accuracy be a defense in that event? After all, the Qur'an does teach violence against and the subjugation of non-Muslims (see 9:5, 9:29, etc. etc.). And jihadists do point to such verses to justify their actions. So if Wilders' film sticks to the facts, will it really constitute religious vilification? And can it be racial vilification at all, since Islam is not a race?

"Our law is very clear — anybody can make a film. We have freedom of expression and you cannot restrict that," says Moroccan-born Sadik Harchaoui, chief of the Forum Institute for Multicultural Development.

"Can you offend people? The answer is yes. I'm not saying you should do it or it is desirable, but you can," he added. "But if the film is insulting and preaches hate, then the law has to take action."

According to whose standard? I can say in my experience that all I have done is explain what the Qur'an and Sunnah teach, and what Islamic preachers say, and for that I am routinely accused of "hate" -- as if I wrote these texts and wrote the preachers' sermons. Apparently nowadays simply shedding light on some matters that some people would prefer shrouded in darkness is enough to get you an accusation of "hate."

The Dutch government says it cannot ban the film but is attempting to distance itself from Wilders, the leader of the Freedom Party, which holds nine of Parliament's 150 seats.

"It is our responsibility to make clear to everyone that the views and actions of this one elected representative are not those of the government," Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende told reporters last week. "We defend the core values of freedom and respect. We guarantee freedom of expression and of religion, for Muslims as for everyone else."...

So far, the reaction among the 850,000 Muslims living in this country of 16 million has been muted, but the Dutch government has warned municipalities to be on alert for rioting if and when the film appears.

The moderate National Moroccan Council has said it is trying to "neutralize the threat" posed by the film, but cannot rule out violence at home.

"We will have succeeded if, after the film, Mr. Wilders is frustrated," chairman, Mohamed Rabbae said at a news conference in January. "If he sees there are no riots and Muslims are cleverer and more democratic than he thinks."

That would be a victory for everyone.

"We defend the core values of freedom and respect. We guarantee freedom of expression and of religion, for Muslims as for everyone else."

A shame the Qur'an doesnt reciprocate.

I can't wait for it to released to the internet...everyone in my contact list will get a link from me to watch it, and I would even burn some DVD's to hand out to people.

"Can you offend people? The answer is yes. I'm not saying you should do it or it is desirable, but you can," he added. "But if the film is insulting and preaches hate, then the law has to take action."

So you can offend people as long as you don't insult them?

"I can say in my experience that all I have done is explain what the Qur'an and Sunnah teach, and what Islamic preachers say, and for that I am routinely accused of "hate" -- as if I wrote these texts and wrote the preachers' sermons."

As in: The Holy Koran says "Kill the infidels wherever you find them, unless they submit and pay the jizya."
Imam Abdul says "the Holy Koran says 'Kill the infidels wherever you find them, unless they submit and pay the jizya,' and I say it, too, we must obey the Holy Koran."
Robert Spencer says "the Holy Koran says 'Kill the infidels wherever you find them, unless they submit and pay the jiya;'" and "Imam Abdul says the same thing and adds 'we must obey the Holy Koran'".
Moslems and PC-leftists, all together: "Robert Spencer is a bigot and racist, and should be silenced."

"We guarantee freedom of expression and of religion, for Muslims as for everyone else."

Pity no one in the media has the journalistic intergirty to ask this politician why he guarantees muslims the right to preach hatred - kuffars, infidel, apres and pigs, abuse of women, and preaching hatred towards apostates and homosexuals etc. - in the very lands the Qu'ran commands muslims to conquer.

And if people believe this is the will God, should we in the west allow this death cult to be afforded the status of "religion"?

Again, an example of how cowardly western politicians criticise anybody who dares to reveal the truth about Islam instead of addressing the serious issues with Islam and its presence in dar al harb.

I wonder why they'd ever think of doing such a thing?

Does anyone know how we can congratulate and encourage MP Wilders?

The word 'hate' has taken on a life of it's own and always means 'irrational', hate. No one objects to rational hate, applied to objects and incidents.
If you hit your thumb with a hammer it is not irrational to hate that when it happens.
But taken into emotional issues, social, religious, political, or personal, the word and practice of the word hate, is taboo, and is freely used as an an excuse to launch an attack. You are not supposed to hate people of any ilk, religions of any ilk, or politicians of any ilk. The PC gangsters have decreed it, and they have determined how much criticism you can give to one of their sacred cows,
before 'they' deem it hate. Telling the truth is no defense. In fact telling the truth will get you a hater label faster than advocating destruction.
This is because the truth is more threatening than actual damage...To the demented...

Complaints of racial vilification will of course go nowhere. As for religious vilification, I suspect that the film itself will unabashedly and convincingly make the case that the Koran itself is an article of religious vilification, if not racial.

"We will have succeeded if, after the film, Mr. Wilders is frustrated," chairman, Mohamed Rabbae said at a news conference in January. "If he sees there are no riots and Muslims are cleverer and more democratic than he thinks."

I am sorry, Mohamed Rabbae, but NOT rioting is expected behavior in a democracy. Nothing clever about it.

Robert Spencer: "Apparently nowadays simply shedding light on some matters that some people would prefer shrouded in darkness is enough to get you an accusation of % ."

Precisely. And apparently when divisive and supremacist words of , with direct calls for submitting and even "the other", are shrouded within a "holy book" for which people bow and pray five times daily, that is enough to earn yourself ultimate protection as a "religion."

And what irritates the Imams who preach this is not the interpretation of what they say--they completely believe what they preach. It is that these words are not meant to have the light shed upon them. They are only for the "believers". When the light comes on, it is akin to having the enemy inside of their huddle. They crawl for the like roaches because they know they are up to no good.

As for Wilders' film, it will only further illustrate that Islam has a big red CRAZY button sitting right on its forehead. Very easy to simply reach out and press it. It is a very childish, insecure "faith" precisely because it is built on lies, , suppression, and t-supremacist ideology.

I say show Wilders' film at the US Democratic Party's next convention (and let the Code Pink-ers turn livid purple with horror and rage).

"A Dutch Cabinet minister postponed his trip to Somalia on Friday..."

Wow, what a loss for Holland that must be.

Why not make it permanent and have no further aid or contact (I was going to say trade, but that's a ridiculous notion anyway), with this backward country.

This is slightly OT, but I gotta run.

I’ve posted about some of the good stuff that’s to be found by watching the Gay Muslim internet. There are days when much of the news is bad, though.

These two articles were posted today on the glasnyc e-mail list.

This one reveals why Pope Rotweiler is so cozy with the imams of late. (I’m a really dissident Catholic):

All this knee-jerk response to a movie that's not been seen, yet!

Will it even matter if the film is released? The ROP-meter will start spinning like the price on the gas pump.

If Jesus had refrained from abusing the religious authorities of his day, we would not have had the Gospels.

Here is a woman who should run for Prime Minister!

Written by a housewife in New Brunswick, Canada to her
local newspaper. This is one ticked off lady.

'Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or
was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our
shores on September 11, 2001 and have continually
threatened to do so since?

Were people from all over the world, not brutally murdered
that day, in downtown Manhattan, across the Potomac from
the nation's capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania?

Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a

horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn't
they?

And I'm supposed to care that a a few Taliban were
claiming to be tortured by a justice system of the nation
they come from and are fighting against in a brutal
insurgency.

I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in
and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on
9/11.

I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle
East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere belief of
which is a crime punishable by beheading in Afghanistan.

I'll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry
for hacking off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed
through his gurgling slashed throat.

I'll care when the cowardly so-called 'insurgents' in
Afghanistan come out and fight like men instead of
disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques.

I'll care when the mindless zealots who blows themselves
up in search of nirvana care about the innocent children
within range of their suicide bombs.

I'll care when the Canadian media stops pretending that
their freedom of speech on stories is more important than
the lives of the soldiers on the ground or their families
waiting a home to hear about them when something happens.

In the meantime, when I hear a story about a CANADIAN
soldier roughing up an Insurgent terrorist to obtain
information, know this: I don't care.

When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when
he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped,
you can take it to the bank: I don't care.

When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a
prayer mat, and fed 'special' food that is paid for by my
tax dollars, is complaining that his holy book is being
'mishandled,' you can absolutely believe in your heart of
hearts: I don't care.

And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's
spelled 'Koran' and other times 'Quran.' Well, Jimmy
Crack Corn and, you guessed it, I don't care!!

If you agree with this viewpoint, pass this on to all your
E-mail friends. Sooner or later it'll get to the people
responsible for this ridiculous behavior!

If you don't agree, then by all means hit the delete
button. Should you choose the latter, then please don't
complain when more atrocities committed by radical Muslims
happen here in our great Country! And may I add:

'Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they
made a difference in the world. But, the Soldiers don't
have that problem.'

I have another thought that I would like to add AND.......I
hope you forward all this.

One last thought for the day:

Only four defining forces have ever offered to die for you:

1. Jesus Christ

2. The Canadian Soldier.

3. The British Soldier.

4. The US Soldier.

One died for your soul, the other 3 for your freedom.'

Good letter. The only thing she got wrong, is that the WTC was blown up by the US government itself. That made the Muslims feel: "we can do it!". But they can't really, because Islam makes them stupid. The goal of the whole story is to start an everlasting war, not to be won but perpetuated.

Wilders is a promotional genius.

What if there is no film at all?

I think I would rather see the trial than the film. It would be interesting to see both sides presenting witnesses testifying to the peaceful or violent nature of Islamic teachings.

So long as Mr. Wilders has all his ducks in a role, and his film is a scholarly work, he can't possibly be found guilty of spreading hate or falsehoods about Islam.

If Dutch courts allow for filming trials, I'm convinced that this could be another Scopes Monkey trial, and could make Mr. Wilders a fortune.

I doubt, though, that any Muslim organization would dare to charge Mr. Wilders in a court of law with spreading falsehoods about Islamic teachings. The Imams know very well what the Koran and Ahadieth say, and they know very well that if anyone gets convicted in a law court, or the court of public opinion, it will be Islam, and they want to avoid that at all cost. For their purposes, an ignorant public is the best public.

I only hope some Muslim organization in the Netherlands is stupid enough to charge Mr. Wilders.

Protesters already have torched Dutch flags in Afghanistan ahead of a new Dutch film portraying Islam's holy book as a "fascist" text that incites violence funny it looks more like islam and the koran is what incites violence AND MULIMS CANT STAND TO BE EXPOSED FOR THE FOLOWERS OF A 7TH CENTURY CROOK THEY ARE

I wonder will happen in Dearborn, Mich. when this documentary finally gets relesed.

Good letter. The only thing she got wrong, is that the WTC was blown up by the US government itself.

Are you a "troofer"?
Did you see the planes hit the buildings that day?
Bin Laden admitted the deed.
How in the hell could the government rig expolsives in the towers and manage to stay secret even though it would take many hours to rig the towers to pancake, and you know how well anything stays secret in Washington.
The "charges" you "troofers" see exploding are the windows and pressure points on a collapsing building.
Oh, and BTW, steel is made by fire. Welders melt steel daily.
Get a clue.

I don't see why he wouldn't simply put it out to the internets directly. More people are there to view it anyhow.

This Finn just took out a marker and drew a Motoon especially for YouTube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5z3qMJH0VTQ

If he likes to get paid for it, it's one thing, but if he is not doing it for the cash, he should simply put it up on Google Video and/or other video websites, as well as on his own home page. In these days of the Internets, why grovel before the mainstream PC culture?

A posting like yours which implies that somehow the US Giovernment murdered 3,000 innocents in the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and four planes could only have come from a vile and wicked little troll who is utterly sick in the head. You are the devil incarnate, at least as blackhearted as the Bin Ladens, Zarqawis and Zawahiris of this world. You are a poisonous little nobody who is no more human than those who actually brought down the World Trade center towers themselves - those 19 Saudis led by Mohammed Atta. At least when you eventually die, you will burn in Hell just like your evil master Zarqawi is doing right now.

It doesn't even need to melt. At a certain temperature -- well below melting point -- a steel beam will lose its strength and begin to sag like a wet noodle under any kind of load.

Who cares what troll Swissy says?

That letter was terrific. My thanks to the lady who wrote it and to Silly for posting it. My favorite line:

And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled 'Koran' and other times 'Quran.' Well, Jimmy Crack Corn and, you guessed it, I don't care!!

How much of the "hate" accusation is a desire to keep unbelievers ignorant, and how much is offense at the idea that unbelievers would dare to examine and make judgments, from a non-Islamic perspective, about Islam? While I cannot discount the former, I think the latter is the primary motivation behind these attacks. Since exercising judgment admits the possibility of imperfection, and Islam is perfect, Islam forbids it.

Right, but as usual the 'elders cannot control their angry youth' and that's their justification for the violence: "you provoked us". Rest assured they're already preparing the Molotov-cocktails, the balaclavas and the iron rods.

If they don't, it would be even more suspicious. Because then we'd go back to complacency and sing 'why can't we all just get along', while they keep coming in ever larger numbers to outbreed us and to do jihad by demographics.

No. We must reverse Islamic immigration...

Corrected nicely, don't ya think? After all, truth is never liable.

Then, why not just teach the Koran on the telly?...and be done with it.

Bland, no editorializing. Use an accepted translation. How can any Muslim object?

Teach the Torah and the Bible too, for balance.

The Koran would probably be so jarring and incongruous with our culture that people would retch in their revulsion.

Problems: Maybe it's too boring and no one would listen or pay to broadcast.

Well, shoot, Robert and Hugh are doing about the same thing. Keep up your great work !

The worst thing for Muslims about Islam is: the truth.

That's one thing they will not allow to be spoken about it.

Especially concerning the Koran's "imperfect" origins.

If you undo this one rotten knot, the whole tent of Islam collapses.

That is why the hysteria mounts as anyone questions the fabric of Mohammadism.

They know that it is hanging by a thread.

And only kept going by terror.

Assuming Wilders' film is something I'm happy to be associated with (and you never can tell with politicians, so I'm deciding nothing until I've seen it with my own eyes), then I plan to burn a whole bunch onto DVD-Rs and just start giving them out.

Imagine giving them to your colleagues, or standing outside a busy train station handing out Fitna DVDs to passers-by, or leaving a stack of a dozen in a cafe, or on a train, or ... you get the idea.

The idea is to disseminate the movie by whatever means possible, at very little cost (DVD-Rs aren't exactly expensive any more).
