Bridge For Sale: Hamas leader says they'll accept 1967 borders

Khaled Mashaal did not explain, however, why those borders were unacceptable to the "Palestinians" and the Arab states in 1948...and 1967. "Mashaal: We accept state on '67 borders," from the Jerusalem Post (thanks to all who sent this in):

Hamas agrees to a Palestinian state established along the 1967 borders, exiled Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal says.

In an interview published Wednesday in Palestinian newspaper Al-Ayam, Mashaal referred to the 2006 prisoners' document as proof of this, saying "There is a Palestinian document and in it all organizations say they agree to a state in the 1967 borders."

The prisoners' document, also known as the National Reconciliation Document, was drafted by members of different Palestinian factions including Fatah and Hamas, held in an Israeli prison. It calls for the "establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital on all the territories occupied in 1967," but does not explicitly recognize Israel's right to exist within its pre-1967 borders.

Mashaal called on Israelis to pressure their government to stop aggression against the Palestinians in light of this document.....

And that's what this is all about. But it will be interesting to see who trumpets Hamas's new "moderation" in the coming days.

No worries, I'm sure they're lining up to revoke the HAMAS Charter.

What a joke for naive fools

Morning, People. You *must* read the comment from the Muslim to this article! (Third comment). It's not only amazing because of the crap he spews, but also because he's showing his true colors! No "taqiyya" here!

http://www.lsureveille.com/home/index.cfm?event=displayArticle&ustory_id=aa58e999-7568-48d8-b258-1fa96714ce9e

I have posted a comment to the above Muslim's insane Letter (but showing his true colors, hurrah!), and hope others will do the same. And let's see how many get printed.

I know it's OT but I think it's important, esp. concerning "Academia Watch!"

A simple test of truthfulness was used by Kennedy in an ad campaign against Nixon (if I remember my history correctly) - would you buy a used car from this man? If Khaled Mashaal was offering you a used car, would you buy it? And if the answer is "Not on a bet", then maybe he shouldn't be trusted with an offer of borders, either.

Just another point of view.

Any word as to how much authenticity an "exiled" HAMAS "leader" has -- the weight his message carries among murderous thugs bent on a single-minded goal reaching back decades?

I didn't think so.

The "1967 borders" is a phrase that needs to be elucidated.

In the first place, it does not mean "borders" but rather, what Israel had before the 1967 war. And what it had were not "borders" but armistice lines, that is the lines of 1949 that demarcated the territory that Israeli and Arab forces, respectively, controlled, at the end of the armed conflict that had resulted from the attack by five Arab armies on the nascent state of Israel in mid-May, 1948.

Israel tried repeatedly to have its Arab neighbors recognize those armistice lines as "borders." They refused. They refused, of course, because they hoped, and still hope, to someday eliminate the Infidel nation-state in their midst.

And the "1967" in "1967 borders" is also misleading. What Hamas is talking about are the pre-Six-Day-War lines, which is to say, the lines of 1949.

So let's rephrase the Hamas offer, shall we? We, Hamas, speaking through Khalid Meshaal in Damascus, will accept -- for now -- a "Palestinian state" that will take possession of the "West Bank" and "Gaza" and the Old City of Jerusalem, for our state. Isn't that something? Haven't we done something splendid, something that should cause the Western world to ooh and aah?

No doubt many in the Western world will, either out of ignorance or, so often, out of a malicious glee in Israel's plight -- for antisemitism is a powerful force, and lives on, but now in the "acceptable" form that it can take among some of those who find their outlet by choosing to report so inaccurately from, or write so inaccurately about, the Lesser Jihad against Israel.

There is no concession here. None. Hamas is simply stating that it will agree, as a first step, to take what it can, under present circumstances, get, and what it thinks it can get, at this point, is a retreat of Israel back to the 1949 Armistice Lines. And then? Oh, then as the Arabs -- not the "Palestinians" but the Arabs -- become stronger, and Israel, pushed back into what Abba Eban famously called "the lines of Auschwitz," where at its waist, from Qalqilya to the sea, Israel is a mere eight miles (did you drive to the store today, dear reader or to the next town, or just from your home to work? How many miles was that?), and deprived of control of the invasion routes from the east, and the heights of Judea, with less than a dozen airfields all of them then within range of enemy hand-held weapons, and no longer in control of the aquifers under the "West Bank" (Judea and Samaria, as Jesus, and every Westerner since, called that land until the Jordanians carefully renamed it) -- see Sderot in the south, see Kiryat Shmona in the north -- would exist in a condition of maximum peril, even worse that what Israelis, surely the bravest people on earth, must endure today.

People - I have another "DefeatJIHAD/JIHADWATCH.ORG" bumper sticker story!

My husband is in Houston, TX, on business this week. He drove my vehicle because it's newer and nicer than his (lol). So, he just called and told me this: Last night after having dinner at Willy G's in the Galleria area, he returned to the vehicle and saw that the STICKER HAD BEEN RIPPED OFF! TORN OFF, PEOPLE!

I will say that I do check to see whether the sticker is in place. Up to now, it has been. Hoo Boy - I would LOVE to see who did that! Which, of course, I never will. Anyway, I've got more stickers since I ordered 10, and will be replacing the first one as soon as he gets home.

Another experience he had: On 1-10 driving to Houston (with the sticker still attached), he said an African-American male rode on the bumper for miles. Finally, he turned off and sped past. No obvious signs that this person was a Mohammedan, but as is commonly known, there are a great number of African-American males in this country who follow Mohammedanism.

For a person to actually approach another person's vehicle and rip off a bumper sticker speaks volumes - that person is angry.

The headline in the lamestream media will be "Israel Swats Away the Hand of Peace"

“There will be peace only when the Arabs learn to love their children more than they hate the Jews.” —

Golda Meir

Mashaal wants what every pan-Islamist and pan-Arabist wants--A return to the status quo ante, to the state of things before the thorough drubbing of their aspirations at the hands of the accursed Israeli Jews (and let's not even mention Israeli Druzes). O, to erase the humiliation of it all--to restore a solid front against a beleaguered, emperiled foe!

"There will be peace only..."
-- from a posting above, quoting Golda Meir

There is peace now. It is kept by the IDF, by the fear of what the IDF can do if Israel is attacked. That is now, and always has been, and always will be, the only conceivable keeper of the peace, however imperfect or incomplete, between Muslim Arabs and the Infidel nation-state of Israel. "Peace" is not the same thing as a "peace treaty." Muslim Arabs will treat that any agreement made with Israel, or with any other Infidel nation-state, as they have all others, and as Muhammad did his own agreement with the Meccans in 628 A.D. at Hudaibiyya. The continued refusal of the Israeli government, and the American government, and other Western governments, to study, and then to take seriously, what the Islamic law of war and peace is all about (see Majid Khadduri) is dismaying, and at this point, incomprehensible and unforgivable.

According to Tabari, Mohammad said, that Allah said, that a true believer is one who does the prayers, pays the tax, bows in homage, and renounces agreements with Jews.
We all know what an agreement between muslims and Israel is worth, what I don't understand is why Israel does not seem to understand this by now.
Any agreements made by muslims are self serving and temporary. Once they are powerful enough, no agreements are necessary...

O/T Thanks for this one Darcy!

I totally disagree with you. As a Muslim, I disagree with homosexuality and homosexuals are most definitely not welcome in my mosque. In Islam, the Koran commands us that we execute homosexuals. I believe in Christianity this is true as well (Leviticus 20:13), but most Christians in America are fake and refuse to follow the God of Abraham. In allowing homosexual sins to persist, they are culprits in their actions. For good people to do nothing in the presence of evil is to cooperate with it. That is why I also agree with the Iranian policy on homosexuals. I am glad to say that we no longer have this homosexuality problem in our country and can still tell the men from our women.

I also disagree with the single and infertile being allowed to adopt. A child was meant to be raised by two parents, and having one does not do the job. If a man is a single parent, he will molest the child. If a woman is a single parent, she will not have what's in her to teach boys to be men and girls to have discipline. This is just as bad has having a homosexual around, who will only confuse the child about the natural roles of the male and the female.

I think all of you self-described Christians are wicked and will burn for your sins. Yes, you are hypocrites. You proclaim to believe in Allah's creed that you should not kill, and yet you kill my Muslim brothers and sisters in Palestine and Iraq. America is the whore of Babylon and will fall due to its greed, excess, and arrogance. And one day America will approve of this homosexuality and it will be the death nail for it.

LMAO! Geeeeeeeeeeees. This guy is BEYOND redemption! Ya just can't fix STUPID.

Hi DeeMack! Can you BELIEVE that Letter?

Thanks for printing it. As I said, at least he's showing his true colors and not "taqiyya."

Ya gotta love this one:

"I am glad to say that we no longer have this homosexuality problem in our country and can still tell the men from our women."

Ha ha Ha ha Ha ha ! etc

You realize this person is in an American University?

How about this one from the Mohammedan's Letter:

"If a woman is a single parent, she will not have what's in her to teach boys to be men and girls to have discipline."

This truly is a very dangerous, demented male (I assume) Mohammedan. On an American campus.

Darcy,

I just commented and challenged that bozo to provide the Qur'anic verse that commands them to execute homosexuals.

That should keep him/her occupied indefinately.

OT

Darcy,

Since when do the losers in a war dictate the terms of what they get from that war?
Like a robber who gets caught by the property owner...held at gunpoint...the robber says "OK, I'll just take 90% of your stuff then".
What a load of crap.

Darcy,

It really ticks me off that these a-holes are even allowed in our country in the first place. Im soooooooo tired of their crap.

I've had some bad experiences with them both here and in their country. I really have NO love for these people.

I am all for diversity...but at some point the line has to be drawn and we have to look at what's at stake. I am NOT willing to go back to the damn stone age for the sake of "diversity" and "acceptance"

When it comes to Mo-rons...my stance is "F*&K diversity"

cheers!

People, I got this link from the "muslimmatters" article link that awake provided:

Danish Cartoonist Kurt Westergaard, whom we've all had so much sympathy for knowing there's a "fatwa" against him, is suing Geert for using his "Mohammed Bomb" 'toon in "Fitna." Copyright.

Uh, I have no sympathy for that, sorry.

Please read the above link.

awake, this post needs to be answered:
A day will come, at the finest hour, when Allah will judge between us with and these enemies of God!!!
Argue not with the ignorant, for they have gone astray.
Movies, articles, cartoons and all the other silly things that have been used in the past to upset Muslims, is nothing new, it is only a continuation of what the pegans at the time of our Prophet PBUH, did to him.
Victory is near, so very near!!!

We shouldn't believe they have imperialist intentions?
Victory is not going to come as easily as this guy thinks.

I'm than willing to go back to the 6th century borders.

People, read this pos complete with the de rigeur photo of Geert with the pen up his nose:

Morning, People. You *must* read the comment from the Muslim to this article!

He misspelled "death knell."

Let's revert to the pre-7th century borders, all over the world, in terms of the "islam against the world" conflict.

islam is occupying lots of countries, and is mistreating the occupants, even to the point of killing lots of them.

We definitely need to revisit the "islam against the world" conflict, and restore all of the borders which were in place before Godfather Mo' and his Mafia came along.

Oh, and we definitely want the "Right of Return" for all of the refugees who had to leave as a result of islamic agression.

"If a man is a single parent, he will molest the child.

Suppose he adopts, then marries, then molested the child. Think the Prophet(PBUH) would approve?

Darcy,

I read Bruno's little rant and all I have to say (besides sad, sad, sad) is...

make sure you pass his picture around too, so when that teeny-tiny fraction of nut jobs that he's talking about make the proverbial poop hit the fan, we remember and recognise him and none of us "hysterical, infantile misunderstanders of Islam" will give him any help or protection...not even piss on him when he's on fire from one of their bombs.

he reminds me of Neville waving his little paper in the air (you know, the one he ended up wiping his but with cause that's all it was good for).

"All that is golden does not glitter"

As there was no Palestinian state in 1967 there can be no borders, easy to recognise that!

Egypt was in control of Gaza so the Egyptians should be negotiating. If Egypt was in control of Gaza pre 67 why didn't Egypt create the Palestinian state then?

Jordan pre 1967 was in control of the West Bank why didn't Jordan create the Palestinian state then?

Answers to these questions please and a history lesson for the Western media!

Hi Darcy!

Speaking of bumper stickers, I currently have but one on my car that says, I Stand For Israel, but I do want to get a second sticker from Jihad Watch - and it sounds like I better buy backup!
:-)

Anyway, when I first put it on my sweet little car my husband was concerned that someone would key it - and that did concern me too - but it was more important to me to show my support for Israel than to worry about something that may or may not happen.

It's been on there for 3 years now, and no one has keyed her yet; and I've even had two people come up to me and ask me where to buy it, which really blessed my heart, so there is that side of standing for what's right. And every once in a while someone will flip me off, but I can't be sure that it's due to my bumper sticker, or because I accidentally may have cut them off...lol!

On topic:

How is peace ever suppose to come to that region when everything Hamas says comes out of their hatred for Israel, their own agenda - which is to destroy Israel - and the fact that negotiating peace must be done on their terms? This is not a recipe for peace, but for power. Seems to boil down to two choices: Negotiations or Nukes?

Nonie Darwish tells it like it is.

"Israel will exist and continue to exist until Islam obliterates it as it has obliterated others before it" --- the HAMAS Charter.

Need we say more?

(Especially when the Kuran states "War is deception.")

Anti-homophobia books removed from primary schools...due to complaints by mostly muslim parents.

Not just heterosexual pedophilia. Pederasty is and has been rampant and widely accepted in the Islamic Middle East. That they pretend this is not homosexuality because pubic hairs are not present defies all credulity. Not to mention the issue of statutory or outright forcible rape.

Syria is preparing for war with Israel over Hezbollah's plans to avenge the death of an assassinated operative.

http://www.abcnews.go.com/International/story?id=4581536&page=1

Hezbollaah and Iran have shown no reluctance whatsoever to sacrifice Lebanon's economy and infrastructure in order to rocket Israeli cities (as last summer's war demonstrates). The only effective deterrent for Israel would be to designate Hezbollah as an agent of the Syrian government...and that any attack on Israel by Hezbollah would be interpreted as an attack by Syria.

Syria is currently very isolated in the Arab world over its behavior in Lebanon. Countries like Egypt and Saudi Arabia will pay lip service to denouncing an Israeli strike, but that's about all.

If Israel doesn't want more of its cities bombed by Iranian rockets fired from Lebanon, it must make it clear to Syria that there will be a steep price to pay for not keeping Hezbollah on a short leash.

Yes, champ, you better buy backup!

My husband told me that no, my vehicle wasn't keyed or damaged. Just the "Defeat Jihad" sticker ripped off. And a new one going on as soon as he gets home!

Nonie Darwish tells it like it is.

True.
I keep thinking about these people who grow up in a world of hate and death. What seeds are they sowing for the future?

You can't have a functioning society that builds on such C*** foundations without some serious side-effects. Will they even ever trust each other?

I hope it all comes back to bite them as they have created this situation for themselves.

Another point:
Why mention Gaza all the time as another letter-writer did? It has been returned. And it is worth remembering that after the 6 Day War Egypt was offered Gaza and rejected it. Now why is that?

Darcy,

I just commented and challenged that bozo to provide the Qur'anic verse that commands them to execute homosexuals.

Ours are both on. Mine is not under "darcy," however.

this from the Jawa Report

Tens of thousands of Israelis are to participate next week in a nationwide emergency drill that will simulate a massive missile strike on the country's population centers.
...
Also on the same day, in an apparently unrelated development, the Israeli defense establishment announced that it's non-conventional protection kits - against atomic, biological and chemical attacks - are to be upgraded and redistributed to the public.

http://www.jnewswire.com/article/2402

You cannot blame Israel for preparing for the inevitable.
