Hamas attacks fuel aid trucks, diverts fuel from hospitals to its leadership and security forces

Remember, this is the group Dhimmi Carter said must be "involved in any final peace agreement." "Hamas disrupts fuel supplies to Gaza," by Khaled Abu Toameh for the Jerusalem Post:

Hamas militiamen in the Gaza Strip on Sunday attacked fuel trucks headed toward the Nahal Oz border crossing, forcing them to turn back, sources in the Palestinian Petroleum Authority said.
The fuel was supposed to go to the UN Relief and Works Agency [UNRWA] and hospitals in the Gaza Strip, the sources said.
"Dozens of Hamas militiamen hurled stones and opened fire at the trucks," the sources added. "The trucks were on their way to receive fuel supplied by Israel. The drivers were forced to turn back. Some of them had their windshields smashed."
The Palestinian Petroleum Authority reached an agreement with Israel over the weekend to receive 250,000 liters of fuel after UNRWA complained that it did not have enough fuel to distribute food aid to more than 500,000 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
The Palestinian Authority Ministry of Health also accused Hamas of blocking fuel supplies to hospitals and clinics in the Gaza Strip. The ministry said Hamas gunmen opened fire at a number of trucks that were trying to transfer fuel to the hospitals and clinics.
Eyewitnesses in Gaza City said that at least on four occasions over the past few weeks, Hamas militiamen confiscated trucks loaded with fuel shortly as they were on their way from Nahal Oz to the city.
They added that the fuel supplies were taken to Hamas-controlled security installations throughout the city. "Hamas is taking the fuel for it the vehicles of is leaders and security forces," the eyewitnesses said. "Because of Hamas's actions, some hospitals have been forced to stop the work of ambulances and generators."
PA officials in Ramallah said Hamas's measures were aimed at creating a crisis in the Gaza Strip with the hope that the international community would intervene and force Israel to reopen the border crossings.
"As far as we know, there is enough fuel reaching the Gaza Strip," the officials said. "But Hamas's measures are aimed at creating a crisis. Hamas is either stealing or blocking most of the fuel supplies."
They pointed out that last week Hamas dispatched hundreds of its supporters to Nahal Oz to block the fuel supplies from Israel. Hamas claimed that the protest was organized by farmers and fishermen who were demanding an end to the blockade on the Gaza Strip.
The officials also noted that the shortage in fuel supplies has created a black market for selling fuel to individuals and institutions at high prices.
UNRWA workers admitted over the weekend that Hamas had prevented some fuel trucks from entering the Gaza Strip.
Hamas has also been exerting pressure on the Gaza Petrol Station Owners Association to close down their businesses so as to aggravate the crisis. Some of the station owners and workers said they were afraid to return to work after receiving death threats from Hamas militiamen and ordinary residents desperate to purchase gas and diesel for their vehicles.

Why is Israel doing any business with Gaza? They should simply annex it, arrest and deport all the Hamas leadership, and rid themselves of this problem once and for all.

Oh? I thought Hamas was a "resistance" force?

Condi, please, explain that to us, will you?

Hamas is worse to the Palestinians in Gaza than the IDF will ever be.

Boy, those idiots in Ramallsh sure don't miss anything, do they?

Any bets as to how long it will take the Useless Nations to produce another resolution against Israel?

wanna wager the food aid came from Non Muslims?..as did the fuel...

The dhimmi "international community" including the cowardly Western dhimmocracies are forcing their dhimmitude on Israel, ganging up on the only democracy of the Middle East and pressuring it to aid and feed its genocidal enemies, even as those hate savages are murdering the very Israeli citizens who aid them. 70 years ago, cowardly Western sociopaths ganged up on the only democracy of Eastern Europe exactly the same way in Munich. It is only due to its resiliency and military skill that Israel has survived many Munichs perpetrated on the tiny nation by the Western cowards.

the only thing the Muslims bring to their people is death and fear...all of which they blame on the JEwS.
Allah must really the the Muslims.

Allah must really the the Muslims.

Allah must really hate the Muslima

Perhaps Jimmy can volunteer to drive fuel trucks for hamas?

Very amusing, and useful, to have the PA describing so clearly the Hamas tactics -- the very same tactics, of course, are hardly unknown to the PA, which merely consists of people who share the Hamas goals, but are more patient, and more needful of immediate gratification by means of Infidel Jizyah or aid, so that they are willing to be Slow, rather than Fast, Jihadists. A difference over timing and tactics -- and over who gets the aid loot -- is not a moral difference, and not even a geopolitical one.

Pocket the PA's attacks on Hamas, but do not be fooled for one minute by the PA or the Arafat henchmen, with nobody-here-but-us-accountants Mahmoud Abbas in the greedy and sinister lead.

Let's see. Since the return of Gaza to the Palestinians and Hamas control, the GDP has decreased by 35%, about 100,000 jobs have been lost, and per capita income is at $625 per year. Ok, now Hamas is holding back fuel to the Palestininans, health care is already in crisis (Jhons Hopins Univerisity study) even without restricted fuel supplies. The international community has limited goods into the Strip that are for humanitarian nature only. A thugocarcy in action. Why, one should ask, are any of the western nations supporting it?

They want to rot without fuel, it's Allah's will.

"Hamas attacks fuel aid trucks, diverts fuel from hospitals to its leadership and security forces"

Why not? They use their women and children as human shields in battles with Israeli soldiers, so why be suprised wnen they divert badly needed fuel from hospitals?

Too bad Israel after the Six-Day War didn't just expel Arab populations from the West Bank and Gaza and formerly annex these areas to Israel proper. Israel would be more secure today and no less hated (can't descend to a lower level of hatred than Hamas AND the PA AND the bulk of the Arab world already have for Israel). For that matter, Israel should have just kept the Sinai and annex that too. Ditto for the Golan Heights (a real annexation here). A Greater Israel today would be a more secure Israel. Who could argue that had Israel done the above it would be less secure and hated more than it is at present?

They want to rot without fuel, it's Allah's will.

The international community needs to sit on its hands. The people of Gaza voted for Hamas. Let THEM deal with the consequences. Democracy is nasty that way. It gets you the government you deserve.

absolutely..

Are the Hamashits THAT stupid as to believe that the world won't see and condemn this manufactured crisis? I withdraw the question...

Dhimmi Jimmy and Conniving Condi will rescue Hamas, in spite of themselves and at great cost to the Israelis and the Americans. And you can count on the European political junkies of the Cult of Multicultural P.C. Gods (and Anti-Semitism) jumping into yet another tsunami of sewage in the Gaza strip.

"Hamas has also been exerting pressure on the Gaza Petrol Station Owners Association to close down their businesses so as to aggravate the crisis"

that's Hamas for ya!! unwilling to even trying to be peaceful. always stirring up trouble, constantly preaching hate and violence within it's own people..hate hate hate, kill kill kill that is the message they give their people, day in day out..all the time, never ending hate and death. it is the Islamic trademark of Hamas.

We need your help.. They are trying to have an anti-Semitic photography exhibition in Berlin. Please sign the counter-petition.. international signatures are more than welcome.

Let's let the German government know that this little project is talked about abroad!

If we have to shame them into canceling this disgraceful despicable exhibit then that would be a success.

Since they don't know better on their own.. we MUST be the ones to let them know!

It won't take much time.. please take a moment to take a stand against this renascent anti-Semitism which is growing once again like a cancer in Europe.

The Bush admin is pressing for a Gaza ceasefire before his visit to facilitate an Israel-PA deal this year, but Israel's southern command opposes the idea. Sounds like Condi is going to get some more people killed.

How could anyone possibly hope to de-program these people and turn them into civilized human beings? Sadly, I feel that they must never be allowed to leave that prison (Gaza). Maybe some of their children (a couple of years old, or less) could be saved. If that sick collective mentality gets loose on the rest of the world, what pray tell would become of us? Oh, yeah… I remember, continuous war with moslems.

Israel left Gaza, and the strip immediately descended into savagery.Palestinians destroyed the green houses purchased for them that might have helped their economy and almost immediately started firing rockets at Israel.Instead of trying to build a functioning society (something that involves hard work and sacrifice).I recall Pres Bush calling for a "provisional" Palestinian state by 2005, back in 2002. It's now 2008. Palestinians freely elect Hamas and the misery, violence and hate have only increased. Since Palestinians elected Hamas, let them reap what they have sown or they can rise up and overthrow Hamas.

Now let me get this:

Hamas stopped all food shipments from Israel into Gaza.

Hamas stopped all fuel shipments from Israel into Gaza.

Gaza has no fuel and no food.

It is Israels fault.

Gotcha. And they say that Jews have khutspe (חוצפּה)!

Ummah Gumma:
Have signed your petition.

Muslims lead unhappy lives, It is Allahs fault.

Hamas stopped all fuel shipments from Israel into Gaza.

Gaza has no fuel and no food.

It is Israels fault.

by MysticalTimeTraveler

Right as rain! Democrats on C-SPAN did their usual act this morning, blaming Israel for "cutting off fuel and for trying to starve the Gazans out". It's those danged Israeli checkpoints that are causing this problem!
I had to laugh!

I love this phrase 'humanitarian crisis'. It shuts down all discussion, blame and rational thinking. No matter what overt and perverse methods Hamas uses they know once they get to the status of 'humanitarian crisis' they are automatically victims. Then Arab stringers peddle the artfully photographed 'humanitarian crisis' to the world media.

This is not intelligent journalism for intelligent human beings.

In the Land where nobody is ever wrong, everyone is right. The misery that such rightness brings has dried the tears of many, a long time ago.

Should we thank mr. carter for getting HAMAS to point out just how against ISRAEL they really are?

Hamas is showing us everyday exactly how opposite their position is compared to what carter stated.
