Amman- A Jordanian criminal court has sentenced a 30-year- old Egyptian to only six months in prison for murdering his Jordanian wife for committing adultery last year, the Jordan Times reported Friday. The court prosecutor had charged the suspect, whose identity was withheld, with premeditated murder, but the tribunal immediately reduced the charge to a misdemeanour because the defendant committed his crime in defence of "family honour," judicial sources said.Another court also sentenced a 30-year-old mechanic to only three months in jail after finding him guilty of murdering his younger married sister, the paper said.
The man opened fire on his sister, headed to the nearest police station and turned himself in, claiming he killed her to "cleanse his family's honour" because she had been missing for over a week.

Strange, isn't it. In Western society, a man's honor is earned by protecting a woman; whereas, in muslim society, a man's honor is earned by killing or maiming a woman.
I guarantee you: if I ever catch one of those cowards even thinking of laying a hand on a woman, I will definitely do the honorable thing and lay my hands on him. He will get a lesson in Western culture, Walker-Texas-Ranger style.
How a culture treats the weaker members of society speaks volumes about that society.
The way islamic society treats women tells us all we need to know about that society.
Think about it; it is codified in their scriptures that women are to be discriminated against.
Personally, I think that women have the hardest time of anyone living in an islamic society, because they are the only dhimmis who aren't allowed to say that they are dhimmis, yet they get treated like dhimmis. They must continually lie to themselves that they aren't dhimmis, when in fact, they know that they are.
At least we people of the Book get to admit to ourselves and to everyone else that we are dhimmis in that kind of "society".

Why the press and many of our politicians keep telling us Jordan is a moderate, pro-Western ally of the United States? Don't you just figure it is a country full of reasonable people who act like us?
Isn't the little sh**ty king with his British education and beautiful wife people to be admired for all they are doing for women's rights and modernization in the Middle East? Sure they don't have a full democracy, but you don't believe they (unlike the other Arab countries) violate human rights, promote all kinds of crazy anti-Semitic conspiracy theories and have Mosques where Imams preach hatred of infidels?
Doesn't Jordan have a peace treaty with Israel that goes along with a spirit of cooperation between Israelis and the moderate Jordanians? It isn't a country full of crazies like Pakistan, except for the justifiable anger of some of the little king's Palestinian subjects, is it?
What a bunch of nonsense we are constantly fed. The King of Jordan, his parliament and his people are a bunch of no goods just like the Saudis, the Kuwaitis and the rest. They share the same values, the same hatreds and the same backward attitudes. In fact I feel greater anger toward the King of Jordan than others because he speaks to Westerners as if he knows better, is trying to make a positive difference and has some type of moral authority behind his well-polished English words. In the end he is no different than the other Arab dictators. He wants to stay alive and in power. He knows well what Islam is all about and either agrees with its tenets or sees no personal benefit to himself in opposing them.

Incidents like the Nigerian story are likely the progenitors of the saying "no good deed goes unpunished". If it was not so sad that any culture would consider a man helping a woman as a criminal act it would almost be funny. Poor guy.
Not funny is the subject of honor killings, and each day when more of this information comes out I am grateful I live in Western society and believe in the tenants of Christianity. What worries me is that until I tell them this kind of stuff goes on in Islam and the countries in which it has it's tenacles, my own two daughters are clueless. My eldest said to me that she had just too much to do with a career, husband and two kids to keep up with all the ills of the rest of the world.
