It seems likely that they recognize all the Dhimmi Carterism in his program, even as he himself condemns Carter's Appeasement Tour: "We must not negotiate with a terrorist group intent on Israel’s destruction. We should only sit down with Hamas if they renounce terrorism, recognize Israel’s right to exist, and abide by past agreements."
One would hope that by this Obama means to say "We should never sit down with Hamas," rather than "We should sit down with Hamas when they get a bit cleverer and start telling us what we want to hear while continuing to act in the same way they always did."
"A Hamas problem for Obama?," by Mosheh Oinounou for FoxNews (thanks to Ed at HotAir):
While Sen. Barack Obama sought to improve his relationship with the Jewish community today by meeting with leaders [in] Philadelphia, comments by a Hamas political adviser this weekend could potentially hurt the Democratic presidential candidate.During an interview on WABC radio Sunday, top Hamas political adviser Ahmed Yousef said the terrorist group supports Obama’s foreign policy vision.
“We don’t mind–actually we like Mr. Obama. We hope he will (win) the election and I do believe he is like John Kennedy, great man with great principle, and he has a vision to change America to make it in a position to lead the world community but not with domination and arrogance,” Yousef said in response to a question about the group’s willingness to meet with either of the Democratic presidential candidates.
For his part, Obama criticized former President Jimmy Carter’s decision to meet with Hamas, telling Jewish leaders Wednesday that “Hamas is not a state, Hamas is a terrorist organization.”
“We must not negotiate with a terrorist group intent on Israel’s destruction,” Obama said. “We should only sit down with Hamas if they renounce terrorism, recognize Israel’s right to exist, and abide by past agreements.”
Obama in this sounds better than Condoleeza Rice.
Speaking of negotiations and talking with terrorists, in light of Carter's Ass Kiss in Damascus:
Diealogue with The Enemy, Pigman-Style
sure, negotiating with terrorists and murderers has always worked...just ask Israel.
"“We must not negotiate with a terrorist group intent on Israel’s destruction,” Obama said. “We should only sit down with Hamas if they renounce terrorism, recognize Israel’s right to exist, and abide by past agreements.”
how many terrorists have been released from prison simply by renouncing terrorism, promising not to engage in violent acts and to seek harmony...
answer: all of them
how many picked up weapons and returned to the good old days of seeking infidels to kill.
answer: all of them
Obama has something up his sleeve and it is nothing good for you.
I trust the three stoodges that are running for president about as far as I can throw an M1 tank.
All three of these are shariah candidates in my mind and Hamas is as good as pulling the strings if any of these freaks gets elected -- and one of them will.
Has Obama learned the fine art of taqiyya?
Just doing some thinkin'.
ABS
“We don’t mind–actually we like Mr. Obama."
I'll bet they do.
But comparing him to JFK is just too much.
Of the three major candidates left for the Presidency, Obama would get my vote for the likeliest to emulate Neville Chamberlain and McCain my vote for the likeliest to think and act like Winston Churchill. But if the full truth be told, not Obama, nor McCain, nor Clinton seem to really grasp the supremacist nature of Islam, but then what Western leader does and says so openly? When such a leader does comes along, that will represent the end of the beginning in the vast conflict between Western Civilization and Islam. I hope it's sooner rather than later because Muslim demographics even more than Muslim terror is working against the West's long term survival.
Churchill understood both Nazism and islam and thoughtfully acted accordingly.
McCain understands neither and is more likely to be a dhimmi carter than a Churchill.
Has Obama learned the fine art of taqiyya?

For some time I have wanted to lay out side by side the answers that he (who's name we may not speak) and his campaign people give when he us criticized with the statements that are issued by the ROP talking heads.
You hear so many of the same phrases, racism, out of context, it was said in a different language, you know, the taco-butter.
I always feel like I am listening to an ROP apologist when I hear the O campaign respond to something dumb he has done or said.
I personally think it is important that he and his campaign are using the talking points of the jihadis to shut up their critics.
You might sit down with Hamas, but it is not a reasonable assumption that you will stand up again.

I'm no fan of Barak Obama, but here is a rare instance where he's come out and said the right thing. No doubt his motives are political, but nonetheless, why should we be criticizing him for condemning Carter's meeting with Hamas?
darcy,
Perfect example of why we should oppose hate crime laws in the U.S.
They look fairly benign in the beginning, but givn time and public acceptance, the definition of a hate crime gets broader and broader. And before you know it, the slightest critism of a minority can get you hawed into a court.
They are the perfect instruments for Muslims to silence critics.
What voters in this country can't see, Hamas sees very clearly.
rational, Bardot has been convicted 4 previous times! It's unbelieveable! In French - "Elle a raison," i.e. SHE'S RIGHT!
It's Orwellian what is happening to her.
Why would Obama not want to talk to Hamas, but would want to talk to Iran?
Small terrorists are bad, big ones are okay?
Two-faced, pandering hypocritcal fool.
Obama gets his pin back.

"Obama Shows his 'True' Patriotism
Rick Moran
Remember the Flag Pin Controversy where Barack Obama refused to wear the decoration because he thought it had become a "substitute for true patriotism?
Here are his remarks at the time defending his decision not to wear the pin:
You know, the truth is that right after 9/11, I had a pin," Obama said. "Shortly after 9/11, particularly because as we're talking about the Iraq War, that became a substitute for I think true patriotism, which is speaking out on issues that are of importance to our national security, I decided I won't wear that pin on my chest.
"Instead," he said, "I'm going to try to tell the American people what I believe will make this country great, and hopefully that will be a testimony to my patriotism." More at the site.
I also think he is a bit of a taqqiya master!
I also think he is going to win:(((

How do you say - Marxist black liberation theology ?
Will a socialist lie to you to get elected so that you will not see his true agenda ?
When you hate your own country, sympathise with its detractors (like the islam community), what will be Barack Hussein's practise like ?
Does a bear do it in the woods ?
“We should only sit down with Hamas if they renounce terrorism, recognize Israel’s right to exist, and abide by past agreements.”
If Hamas met these conditions, Hamas itself would cease to exist. At the very least, its current leadership would soon be six feet under.
Why should we even sit down with Hamas or any other terrorist group even after they renounce violence, etc? What sovereign status do they have? None. Why should the USA even mention these groups in any context of negotiations, presidential race, etc? They are like the mosquitos fling around and the more you brush them away, the more they buzz. Just smack em or grab the can of OFF.
Hamas is not going to philosophically change anything. Hamas philosophy has a tap root that go's to the very bottom of the rotten barrel. There it gets it's nourishment. It is called 'The Quran'.
Hamas cannot change it's philosophy without pulling out its own tap root, ensuring its philosophical destruction.
Jimmy Carter has a messiah complex. He descends into
the Hamas pit, not to preach to them, but to 'reason' with other 'men of faith'. His 'reasoning' extends even to kissing. He is a fool because he does not know he is a fool, but Hamas does, and they take full advantage of his foolishness...
There's no fool like an old fool.
Every Muslim-American blog I visit supports Obama.
Yeah, he says there have to be preconditions for talking to Hamas.
But he's just fine about talking to Iran.
It's all baloney.
If BHO is elected our enemies of all stripes will be emboldened.
I watched a video of a Black Power idiot on YouTube that was dreaming of enslaving all "the pigs" (white people) "crushing" all of us.
He cannot be elected to be the leader of the free world.
Lets see Obama's reverend and mentor is a ex-Muslim and member of the Nation of Islam and still has very close ties to Farrahkhan and his group. Who preaches hate against the U.S., black segregation, hatred of whites and Jews and rants about the U.S. gov't creating AIDs to wipe out black people, damns the country and people.
A man he refuses to disown and instead compared his grandmother who raised him and paid for his Ivy league education to that filthy monster.
Then there is his associations with Meeks and Pfleger two other racist and anti-semitic reverends.
Then there's Obama's association with Ayers a unrepentant Weatherman terrorist.
Then there's Obama's comment in the Audacity of Hope where he states he will side with Islam when the time comes despite whatever political costs.
Then there's his racist wife who positively despises whites and the country in general because it hasn't afforded her the lifestyle she wants. A million dollar mansion and $400k a year isn't enough for her.
What ever Obama is, he is no friend of America and its people
I don’t think “typical white people” or bitter gun and religion clinging Americans really care for the Obama, who with Hillary cant wait to put America’s tail between its leg and run. At least McCain has the balls to stay and fight, even if you think he doesn’t understand Islam, it really doesn’t matter, just as long as you are willing to fight.
If someone attacks me on the street and I do not know their motive, does that prevent me from fighting back?
McCain just as Bush can not speak about Islam like we speak about it here, the MSM and the liberals would eat him for lunch and we here at Jihad Watch and LGF would be the only ones voting for him.
When Mr Spencer speaks about Islam we all see how his words are taken by others and twisted to mean what they do not, Mr Spencer is very clear about not hating Moslems, yet his detractors ignore that fact and continually level that accusation, which deceives the uninformed.
Obama is not a Muslim, he is a Black Liberation Christian, which is almost as bad.
Because of his early childhood, I have no doubts he would be more sympathetic to Muslim causes than the other two candidates, but this quote:
"Then there's Obama's comment in the Audacity of Hope where he states he will side with Islam when the time comes despite whatever political costs."
sounds like BS to me. I read Ann Coulter's review of this book and if he said this, she would have flagged it. Do you have some reference for this to prove it?
Then there's Obama's comment in the Audacity of Hope where he states he will side with Islam when the time comes despite whatever political costs.
Waltc, can you put the quote up? Thanks
Then there's his racist wife who positively despises whites and the country in general because it hasn't afforded her the lifestyle she wants. A million dollar mansion and $400k a year isn't enough for her.
Something tells me living in the White House won't satisfy her. Americans will never be able to satisfy her. We shouldn't even try.
Clay,
Jeremiah Wright is a former Muslim.
Obama's reverend and mentor is a ex-Muslim
http://www.pickensdemocrats.org/info/TheAgitator_070319.htm
Clay,
Here is the original article written by TNR early last year. TNR is not a conservative publication. They point out that Wright is a former Muslim and that Obama was uncomfortable talking about religion, which would add credence to the theory that he joined TUCC for political purposes, and nothing else.
Given Obama's previous desires for a summit with the world's villains one can hardly take this as more than so much hot air.
For the life of me I can't fathom how that scumbag is even in the running for president. The fact that he saw fit to tell the whole world that his mother was horny for black men should be enough to make decent people recoil in disgust. Instead his contempt for his family is not even an issue. The hippies truly have broken the western world.
More fallout from the disastrous bush presidency:
I believe that president obama's approach to dealing w/ the islamic threat would be to hold round after round of diplomatic talks. I also believe that the overwhelming majority of Americans would oppose that strategy, but that wouldn't stop obama from pursuing it. why? well, look at what bush has done. he's sticking to his open-ended commitment to bring "freedom & democracy" to iraq at the cost of untold billions and an over-stretched military, despite the overwhelming opposition of the American people. He has pursued an open-borders policy w/ Mexico & fought for amnesty for dozens of millions of illegals, despite the overwhelming opposition of the American people. he continues to refer to islam as a religion of peace, still considers terrorism committed in the name of islam to be a perversion of the religion, and actually increases the quota of visas for saudi arabians, all despite the overwhelming opposition of the American people. obama could surely find as many Americans to support his policy of appeasing islam as bush has found to support some of his most significant policies. But, you say, Americans in overwhelming numbers would oppose obama's appeasement. I agree. But bush has shown that the president can thumb his nose at 3/4 of Americans on major issues, and I suspect that if obama becomes president, he will as well -- and get away with it.
With Hamas essentially endorsing Obama for U.S. president, a President Obama might be good for Israel.

McCain and Bush can speak about Islam. They lack the moral courage to speak about Islam. Please, stop making excuses for these weak leaders.
Well if Nixon can go to China, perhaps Obama can criticize Mecca. It is possible that Obama's experience with Muslims may not make him the dhimmi-dupe that some make him out to be. He may just have a more experiential and sober understanding of Islam such that he is a serious anti-dhimmi.

I am not making accuses for what you refer to as “weak” leaders.
If you have been reading JW then you are well aware of the attacks that come against Mr Spencer, times those by one thousand if McCain said the same.
If most Americans really think this war is hogwash, then how come the Military keeps meeting its recruitment goals and many soldiers reenlist for two or three tours of duty?
BugerBoy, thanks. I am vaguely aware of attacks on Mr. Spencer and on Daniel Pipes, who seems to take more nuanced view of Islam. I am not a regular enough reader to have followed specific attacks however. I don't see anything particularly wrong with attacks that have no basis. Often we are distinguished more by our enemies than our friends.
If McCain was attacked for speaking the truth, he should wear it as a badge of honor.
My guess is, Americans do not think this war is hogwash. The problem is, because Mr. Bush has not identified the enemy, the American people are confused. We have no idea with whom we are at war.
Hi, Drewbenstein!

Mr. Spencer wrote: "Obama in this sounds better than Condoleeza Rice."

"For at least the fourth time in recent months, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice referred to the Hamas terrorist organization as a "resistance" movement during unscripted remarks with reporters, WND has learned...."
This is what Mr. Bush and Dr. Rice believe. Otherwise, why the references to the "occupation?"
April 07th 2008:
"Obamas Pastor Jeremiah Wright: Former Muslim"
"This is just another blow to the Obama campaign. The American people are not ready to hand the reins to someone who’s associations are beyond sketchy."
"A reader from Free Republic has dug up an old article last year (March 07) From TNR about Obama. It was written by Ryan Lizza, Senior editor at The New Republic. It’s a biographical piece, but in the article, it explicitly states that Jeremiah Wright is a former Muslim."
"From Wright and others, Obama learned that part of his problem as an organizer was that he was trying to build a confederation of churches but wasn’t showing up in the pews on Sunday. When pastors asked him the inevitable questions about his own spiritual life, Obama would duck them uncomfortably. A Reverend Philips put the problem to him squarely when he learned that Obama didn’t attend services. 'It might help your mission if you had a church home,' he told Obama. 'It doesn’t matter where, really. What you're asking from pastors requires us to set aside some of our more priestly concerns in favor of prophesy. That requires a good deal of faith on our part. It makes us want to know just where you’re getting yours from.'"
"After many lectures like this, Obama decided to take a second look at Wright’s church. Older pastors warned him that Trinity was for 'Buppies'–black urban professionals–and didn't have enough street cred. But Wright was a former Muslim and black nationalist who had studied at Howard and Chicago, and Trinity's guiding principles–what the church calls the 'Black Value System'–included a 'Disavowal of the Pursuit of Middleclassness.’"
"The crosscurrents appealed to Obama. He came to believe that the church could not only compensate for the limitations of Alinsky-style organizing but could help answer the nagging identity problem he had come to Chicago to solve. 'It was a powerful program, this cultural community,' he wrote, 'one more pliant than simple nationalism, more sustaining than my own brand of organizing.'"
"As a result, over the years, Wright became not only Obama’s pastor, but his mentor. The title of Obama’s recent book, The Audacity of Hope, is based on a sermon by Wright. (It’s worth noting, however, that, while Obama's book is a coolheaded appeal for common ground in an age of political polarization, Wright’s sermon, 'The Audacity to Hope,' is a fiery jeremiad about persevering in a world of nuclear arms and racial inequality.) Wright is one of the first people Obama thanked after his Senate victory in 2004, and he recently name-checked Wright in his speech to civil rights leaders in Selma, Alabama."
"So the question is, why hasn’t anyone mentioned the fact that he’s a former Muslim?"
"Could this be why Obama’s church posted a Hamas manifesto in the Trinity Church program last year? It obviously explains Wright’s affinity with Louis Farrakhan. It also explains more why Rev. Wright got his Masters degree in 'Islam in West Africa'."

I have noted this, too. This, along with Hamas' support, ought to be sufficient information for making a voting choice.
About the rather pathetic choices our political parties have left us with in this presidential campaign: Given that one of either McCain, Clinton or Obama is likely to be our next president, we need to look beyond them and think about the follow-on presidency. Although I will hold my nose when I cast my vote, my support will go to McCain as the least objectionable candidate in this election. However, given his age there is a strong possibility that he will not be able to serve out a full term. This puts the emphasis on ensuring that he has a strong and acceptable Vice President running mate. Even if McCain somehow lives through two complete terms, the Vice President automatically becomes the favored candidate for the follow-on term. Either way, we need to think very seriously about who his running mate will be, since there it is very likely that this person will be president some day.
I am not going out on a limb when I predict....Neither Obama or Hillary are going to beat McCain and it isn't going to be close. I would not have written this 6 months ago.
The liberals have self destructed..who says there is no G-d?
So there is one family of Skunks Obama will not sit down with. Big deal. It does not mean he will not sit down with all the other Skunks.
Why would someone put themselves in a position where they need to marinate for days in a Tomato Bath just to knock the smell down?
If the Military is "stretched" then why will none of them ask their fellow Citizens to serve? It couldn't be because they tend to trash everything the Military does now could it?
The support they tend to profess is more like a Jock Strap without the cloth pouch. It's all just for show.
Obama does sound better than Condi - yikes what is this world coming to? By meeting with Hamas, Carter only gives them credibility. However, I fear Obama will act in a similar vein, treating Hamas as a peer government instead of a group bent on genocide.

I will hold my nose and vote for McCain.
Barack Obama is without a doubt the most dangerous politician going. The ties he has are to some of the nation's top loons, and he refuses to disassociate himself with them.
Obama talks out both sides of his mouth and is nothing but a sham. Anyone who falls for his line of crap should see their physician immediately and get a script to see a shrink.
He'd sit down with Hamas right after being sworn in to office. He has no backbone. He wants to sit down and talk with that little terd in Iran too.
Just say no, hell no, to Obama, his hateful wife, his nutjob America hating pastord, I mean pastor, his terrorist friends from weather underground, and whoever else the dig up from his now apparent skeleton filled closet.
Pismopal, I was thinking just what you said, because it is beginning to feel like 1972 and it might foretell a repeat of the dismal results the Democrats had back then. If neither HC nor BO (BO!) arrive at the convention with enough delegates to get the nomination on the first ballot, that convention will be a blood letting.
In 1972 American troops were still fighting in Vietman, there was a genuine peacenik candidate on the Democrat side. Nixon won by a landslide. McGovern piled up a whopping 17 electoral votes (Mass.).
I cannot vote for Obama because I do not know what he stands for. I cannot vote for Hillary because I do know what she stands for.
I will hold my nose and vote for McCain.
Posted by: Pelayo
Good one! My thoughts exactly.
pismopal/Pelayo
I think you have both hit on something. (Pelayo, you are right, the analogous elements to the 1972 scenario are striking.)
The key is whether McCain is smart enough to frame his campaign in such a way as to expose Obama as a lot of wind with very little substance, and what substance there is, is ill conceived. I think McCain can do this.
McCain is too high minded to emphasize the Obama skeleton closet (which looks more jam - packed with each and every day). But I am sure the blogosphere will not let this area go unnoticed.
Couple items still not clear:
1. Will McCain pick a good running mate?
2. Will Hillary (whose lust for power is limitless) insist on fighting for the nomination long past when she should yield? (I think this is a good bet.)
With all things presently known, and yes answers to 1 and 2, I think McCain looks like the next POTUS.
pismopal and Pelayo,
Whomever you vote for on the presidential side, consider voting for representatives and senators from the other party. Clinton's first two years and Bush's first six years were disastrous for middle class Americans. Divided government is the way to go. Whether it's President Obama, President Clinton or President McCain, we need checks and balances. Today that won't happen with the same party holding both branches.
why should we be criticizing him for condemning Carter's meeting with Hamas?

We shouldn't be criticizing him for it as much as we need to analyze WHY he is saying it.

See his complaints re. the ABC "debate" last night.
He's starting to crack.. keep up the heat..
witness: McCain doesn't understand Nazism? You discredit yourself with a statement like that. Yes, McCain, as is the case with virtually all well placed and powerful Western politicians, does not seem to grasp all the invidiousness inherent in Islamic theology, but to also aver he doesn't "get" Nazism is way too much. Overstatement is lethal to acceptance by the body politic at large. And I still stand by my assessment that of the three remaining canditates for the Presidency, McCain is most likely to deal with Islmaic fruitcakes most effectively and in a Churchillian type mode.
In a physicians reception area with slim pickings for reading material today, I came across a dated Time Magazine from January 21,2008 that put Condoleeza Rice together with Obama in a feature titled "The Demons that Still Haunt Africa". On page 43, top of third column the following quote stood out:
Daily contact with Odinga easy . . .singular contact with duly elected officials - not so easy when allegiances don't line up with muhammedan interests. . .eh BHO?
Clearly our State Dept. standards have fallen to the point where training/experience with foreign affairs is unnecessary.
Kindly pass the extra strength tylenol.
From a post at LGF
He didn't say he'd stand with the Muslims per se, but with "Arab and Pakistani Americans", to whom he was referring in his book, Audacity of Hope. Here's the quote from page 261:
"Of course, not all my conversations in immigrant communities follow this easy pattern. In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans, for example, have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging. They have been reminded that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific reassurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."
...three remaining candidates for the Presidency, McCain is most likely to deal with Islamic fruitcakes most effectively and in a Churchillian type mode.

I agree with you about Ms Rice, personally I don’t think Pres Bush has the same feelings, although she is part of his admin so he does take the blame for her crap, which I detest.
I do think or greatly hope the American people know who the enemy is, I think a large majority of Americans laugh when President Bush calls Islam the “religion of peace”, and I wonder if Pres Bush isn’t laughing too. If JW of LGF is any indication of the American people, all is well.
While I don’t agree with McCain on all things, he is a former 5 year POW and a survivor of the USS Forrestal disaster, he has a tenacious attitude, not the type to backdown to any threat, unlike his opponents, I figure that POW experience would really help being commander and chief and any decision you make can or will piss half the people off.
PS.
Good News, I don’t have a link, but I read the Bush admin will finish the fence alone our southern border before the end of the year, it got the Pres pass so no more environmental impact reports and all the other red-tape.
To Hamas,
Americans will "cling" to Biblical Christianity even if Obama wins or because he won it does not matter.Bad news for Islam.
Re: “We must not negotiate with a terrorist group intent on Israel’s destruction,” Obama said. “We should only sit down with Hamas if they renounce terrorism, recognize Israel’s right to exist, and abide by past agreements.”
How can you say this but be willing to "sit down" with Iran?
Ummah Gummah: "We shouldn't be criticizing him for it as much as we need to analyze WHY he is saying it."
I myself have acknowledged that Obama's reason for denouncing Carter's meeting with Hamas was political.
But this doesn't change the fact; he DID denounce it. When we start criticizing our enemies (real AND perceived) even when they say or do the right thing, we put them in the unenviable position of being "damned if you do...and damned if you don't."
I don't like Barak Obama. I don't trust him. I don't like his statements, I don't like his minister, I don't like his association with Bill Ayers, and I don't like his wife (based on her own comments). The more I familiarize myself with Obama, the more I dislike him. There is no way I would ever vote for him.
Obama deserves criticism on many levels for many things, but he doesn't deserve to be criticized for denouncing Jimmy Carter's meeting with Hamas.
I have always voted for the person and have not voted for anyone because some political party was telling me who I should vote for.
We all know the choices by now and, that said, I do believe that the process of selecting a chief executive is deeply flawed. The words 'money' and 'special interests' come to mind, among many others.
Here's the way I see it:
Barack Obama, you are a fine public speaker. You are also an extremely liberal Senator from the State of Illinois, which has a long and rich history of political corruption of the first magnitude. You are indeed a child of that system.
You have finally insulted my intelligence far beyond my capacity to tolerate your insults. It has nothing at all to do with your skin color. As a matter of fact, it would be so COOL to finally have an African-American for President. What a great statement that would be to the entire world that we are indeed the greatest country on earth! But, unfortunately, General Colin Powell is not running, and YOU are NOT the man for this job!
Barack baby, you want me to believe that you have never heard the sermons of your own pastor, the Right Reverend 'G-- D--- America' Jeremiah Wright. It is a matter of record that this has been your church for over 20 years. It is a matter of record that you were married there by this very pastor, and that your children were baptized there. The good Reverend saw fit to visit Khadafy in Libya with you and to give a lifetime achievement award to Louis Farrakhan, of all people. We have all now seen excerpts of his sermons all over the airwaves by now. And you have publicly stated that this man IS your 'spiritual mentor'.
BUT, your pastor is NOT the reason I am NOT voting for you. His words were disturbing enough, but it is your own HUGE church congregation, seen jumping, hooting and howling to his words in the background that disturb me the most. And please don't tell me you attended church there and never once heard a 'discouraging word' in the 20 years you attended there. Don't tell me, that in addition to the good reverend, that you are now not having anything to do with all those other people seen hooting and howling out in the audience in the background of his fiery tirades.
Even Oprah Winfrey got disgusted and walked out. I am no Oprah fan, but still she did the right thing.( pray for her spiritual life)
Now YOU look me in the eye and ask me to believe that you never heard such language in all the years you attended there! This is like me telling you that I attended dozens of Klan rallys and never once heard the 'N' word. Yep. And Bill Clinton 'did not inhale'.
Yes, Mr. Obama, we all have friends who have said stupid things that embarrassed us, but NOW you have asked me to believe something that is so incredibly stupid that you are telling me that I am just stupid enough to believe you. THAT is the main reason that I will never vote for you. I am deeply sorry, that in a county teeming with enormously talented African Americans who would make a good President, that the political system has chosen YOU. You are a pathetic and plastic excuse for an American, who will not even salute the Flag during the Pledge of Allegiance. God forbid you ever get near the Oval Office.
Now, did I mention Bill Clinton ?
AH YES ! This brings us to MRS. WILLIAM JEFFERSON CLINTON, who this candidate really is, in spite of all the other names she may care to call herself. This 'feminist' piece of work of course would like to be referred to as MS. and we all know who wears the pant suit in that family.
MS. Clinton, (sugar), it is just as depressing to realize that there are dozens of women who would also make great Presidents. But, unfortunately, the horrible state of the selection process has selected YOU. Ms. Clinton, I'm sorry, but you could not tell the truth if we waterboarded you.
Still you play the role of the 'embarrassed but dignified noble wife'. What utter malarkey! I am not voting for you for a world of reasons, but the main one is the same as not my voting for Senator Obama. You persistently insult my intelligence. It COULD be conceivably possible that you did not know about Monica Lewinsky, extremely remote, but possible if we stretch our imaginations a bit. But you turn around and then ask me to believe that you also did not know about Paula Jones and the legion of other women who were chewed up and spit out by your lecherous excuse for a husband. Puleese turn off this broken record!!!
But let's set aside your hubby's flagrant pecadillos. The real reason I will never vote for you is that I don't think the country can survive EIGHT MORE YEARS of Whitewater, Travelgate, Filegate, Sandy Berger stuffing his socks with classified intelligence, Janet Reno's goon squad, and the myriad other corruptions that seem to stick to you like your ugly face. As for our former President . The REAL issue is that he committed perjury under oath when he lied about it and the pathetically-attempted cover-up that followed. Like you, he is totally incapable of telling the truth. He could not do it if you tortured him, and in voting for you, we would get the BOTH of you, all over again. The same folks who could have taken out Osama Bin Laden over 4,000 dead Americans ago!
And please stop telling me that you have '8 years of experience' to lead us. You were the freakin' first lady already, not the Commander in Chief. The sum of your 'experience' is that of the most worrisome and incompetent meddling in the history of the White House. You even cursed your pitiful staff and the Secret Service agents who were and still are unfortunately charged with risking their lives to protect your worthless, thieving hide, and all at the expense of other people who have to work for a living.
Your single pathetic platform is to finance the illegal drugs, alcoholism and bad habits of the very lowest and most irresponsible freeloaders in America and to then 'garnish the wages' (your own words) of every law-abiding and hard-working American to pay for it. This disaster you refer to as 'Universal Health Care'. Where have you been the last 30 years? Did you not see that socialism is a failure wherever it has been tried? Did you not notice that the Soviet Union has collapsed since it gave no reward to those who worked the hardest for the fruits of their own labors to pay for those who will not??
It is interesting to see all the dead bodies that you and your hubby have left in your wake. Suicides, mysterious deaths, cover-ups that make Richard Nixon look like a rank amateur. The utter contempt and unbelievable arrogance of some of your strongest supporters, most notably the recently resigned and disgraced Governor Eliot Spitzer, the epitome of hypocritical and malevolent arrogance gone wild, one of your most ardent, wealthy and powerful political supporters. A man the news media refuses to admit IS a 'super delegate' in your own political machine, a fine example of your own 'adopted' state of New York. No wonder you moved there to run for Senator! The environment there is perfect for the likes of you!
Yes, I would vote for a woman, but I will NOT vote for YOU!
Which leaves us with Senator John McCain.
John, you are a flawed man. You are a bit old, a bit looney, and you have a notoriously bad temper. This perfectly qualifies you, in my humble opinion, to lead us for the next eight years. I WANT your trembling hand on the nuclear button.
Think about it.
We have Kim Jong IL, Chavez and Ahmadenijad all running around like lunatics, threatening America and threatening to plunge the world into nuclear Armageddon. We have Putin and the Chinese blustering and rattling their sabers at us. I want John McCain in the Oval Office and I want him to be really mad at all these other nut jobs around the planet.
John, once you are elected, I want you to go into the Oval Office and throw one of your perfect FITS. Jump up and down and throw something through a plate glass window. Rip the drapes down and foam at the mouth a bit. And I want the whole thing on camera so that Ahmadinejad can see it. I want ALL of these 'world leaders' to lay awake at night and to break out in a cold sweat every time they think of messing with the United States of America.
I want the nuclear button sitting right next to the alarm clock on your night stand. I want pictures of this to be sent to Iran, Russia, China, Venezuela, Cuba, Libya, Syria, Pakistan, and those other idiots in the sheets, the Saudis.
On the domestic front, poor John did try and reach across the aisle to the opposition in a desperate effort to compromise and to get the Congress to do something. You may not agree with his efforts, but at least he TRIED. For all his efforts, all he got handed to him was his head in a basket. The liberals are upset at him and the conservatives are upset at him. Just my kinda guy.
I predict that John will select Senator Joe Lieberman as his running mate. Good choice. I want a JEW whose memory of the Holocaust is still fresh in his mind and who is royally upset at all of these towel-headed morons in the Middle East to be the next in line if something should happen to John. Shalom, Vice President Joe. One heartbeat from the Oval Office.
Finally. John McCain knows on a most personal level what it is to suffer horrible torture for years and to see others die, right in front of you, for their love of America. When you ask him about it, he will tell you that what he did was 'nothing special'. Even more incredibly, he states that ANY American who truly loves his country would do exactly the same as he did in that situation. You and I will have a hard time believing that, but the real point is that John McCain believes that about the 'average American', and that, dear friends and neighbors, is why I will cast my one poor ballot for on election day for John McCain--warts and all.'
God Bless America,
Obama’s and Carter’s ceaseless bootlicking or collusion with Islamo-terrorism is treasonous, which means naught in our politically-correct, Western worldview today. Carter is, utterly, repugnant with, not only, his fraternization but his transparent anti-Israel/Jew agenda.
Obama, who unlike Carter, has yet to stain the office of the presidency and, presently, is tiptoeing through this minefield, while betraying his true insidiousness and seditious intent, more, day by day. He, like Carter, is an enemy of not only Israel and a rabid anti-Semite but of democracy, as well. Not that one can ever discern this from the endless fervour disseminated by the, oh so, leftist mainstream-media.
Carter is a dangerous man – he was whilst serving as Commander-in-Chief, to this very day, with his vilification of Israel to his hideous homage paid at Arafat’s gravesite.
When is this nation going to wakeup and indict so-called Americans, even former presidents with treason?
Obama is one of the same but momentarily is coquettishly toying with his true sentiments for Islam, which echoes the same sinister and racist sentiments as Carter’s.
Tartine, We definitely do not want Colin Powell elected, ever.
Do some research on his attitudes toward islam.
He said we NEED more moslems in the US.
Hizbollah in Lebanon has suspended the Lebanese presidential election in a hope to see if Obama wins in the US. Hizbollah is praying and doing everything they can to support Obama. They may have contributed to Obama thru their proxies.
If his name was Barak Muhammad Obama no one would have any doubts that he is a Muslim. And they think that Barak Hussein Obama is not Muslim. Hussein is the third most used name by Muslims after Muhammad and Alli comes Hussein.
Muhammad and Hussein have tens of variations like Ahmad, Hammad, Muhmmod and so on and Hassan, Hasson Hassen and so on
Interestinconundrum
I bet Colin Powell made this statement years ago , way before Sept11.
and if it is the case , he was just like any other politician or normal american citizen, believing that Islam is a religion of peace.
It took almost 4000 deaths for America to open only one eye.The other one is still closed
It would be interesting to know where Powell is standing now regarding the Muslim ideology.
YOUR POSITION ON OBAMA
Dear Mr. Spencer;
I'm a fan of your work and understand you need to walk a fine line between being realistic about the threat of Islam, being un-PC, without coming off as a radical right winger. But you're playing into their hands; I think you should reconsider your position on Obama. Bruce Bawer makes a very good point that the far left, by ignoring the problem, will actually empower neo-fascist groups because a distressed public will have nowhere else to turn. Europe may be approaching another "Weimar moment" he warns.
But both you and Bawer are guilty of over-idealizing the ideologues on the American right (not to mention their greedy capitalist masters) who've done much to get us into this mess. McCain is simplistic: he wants to bomb Iran, which will start Armageddon. Even though she tries to talk tough, Hillary would be the appeaser. Only Obama has the intelligence and right combination of conviction and open-mindedness that it takes to negotiate the difficult path ahead.
I'm tired of the divisive playground politics played by the neo-cons here in the US, and welcome Obama as a breath of fresh air, with the right message at the right time, the most thoughtful and statesmanlike candidate we've seen in a while. Your position on Obama is counter-productive. You say that he might face an Islamic death penalty for leaving the faith, but that this will only play into the Jihadist's hands. Wrong. It would actually be a great thing for lovers of freedom everywhere - the more starkly and irrationally the Jihad declares its evil intentions, the more awake our sleeping populace will become.
You say: "For if the Islamic death penalty for apostasy is even allowed to come up in the mainstream media, smiling Islamic spokesmen will deny that Islam teaches this." Yes, but meanwhile imams they can't control will be yelling "Death to Obama" in front of cheering crowds, and it will get media coverage. A black Muslim apostate president will throw some of them into fits of conniption, while others will have to make nice, and the schizophrenic nature of the Muslim world will become plain for all to see. That's reason enough to vote for Obama, even if you aren't otherwise convinced. Muslims will then be in the impossible position of trying to talk out of both sides of their mouths, setting the stage for Islam's final meltdown from within. Already the Shia are killing each other, over who knows what.
Yes, the Europeans should appreciate that we Americans are tough on terrorism, and quit whining, because we may not be there to bail them asses out this time; but there also is some truth to Rev. Wright's assertions. I think most Americans could learn a lot of what they need to know about our troubles in the Middle east simply by watching "Lawrence of Arabia"; while a romantic adaptation, it nevertheless provides a better history lesson than apparently even most of our colleges provide. The Iraqis refer to Americans and Israelis alike as "the Jews". Why do Arabs hate the US-UK support of Israel so much? Because during WWI we dropped leaflets promising them the Holy Land in return for their help fighting the Turk. Then we rounded up a bunch of tribal leaders, drew up some imaginary national boundaries, and anointed a couple of kings to control the oil trade for us. Then stuck Israel in there as an afterthought.
The real enemies of common Arabs are their royal families and dictators that have gotten insanely wealthy by kissing Western asses. Iraq is a mess now, but Egypt, Iran and Saudi Arabia are all ripe for revolution, and fundamentalists will lead the charge. Hopefully our next president is someone capable of understanding things at a deeper more nuanced level than GW, who didn't even know there was such a thing as Sunni and Shia before he invaded Iraq. They hate our ignorance and arrogance over there. I'm not apologizing for the Jihadists, but we've got to stop fueling their fire. Energy independence should be our #1 priority, so we can stop giving them money!
"but Egypt, Iran and Saudi Arabia are all ripe for revolution, and fundamentalists will lead the charge"
Osama Bin-Laden has said almost the same thing..and he knows a thing or two about strirring things up..
Luber
That sure sounds like an apology to me, Obama and his racist black value system and his Moslem cohorts the Nation of Islam, I consider hot stale air, nothing fresh about it, unless fresh crap smells nice to you.
A no-brainer -- who do you want to be President, a knave, a fool, or an honest hero?
