I would suggest more than a haircut for the youths that hang around schools in the north of England

Hair cuts for men when flirting with women. Gosh not even a nice flirt with a women. Hey but it is okay to beat women, have honor killings and rape women because that is womens fault. The only past time would be to go and bomb some infidels so that they can get the reward in the porn heaven of Islam--those nubile young virgins or boys whatever your sick preference demands by doing Allah's work.

Women are constantly harrassed, and it's usually sexual harrassment (not 'flirting'), at every opportunity in Saudia Arabia..no matter how much black heavy cloth they drape over themselves, no matter how little make-up they wear, Muslim men are all over them like wolves on sheep if they get a chance. And it is because they are veiwed, like in those infamous words, like meat, covered meat. (livestock?)
You can do a search on youtube or livelink and you can find many videos of women being seriously harrassed and treated worse than streetwalkers just for being out and going about their business. They are usually with other women. If they find them w/o a man that can kick the harrassers ass, then its a free-for-all on those women.

Shouldn't they be forced to grow beards as well?

Please, AP reporters, stop using language that gives false meaning. Use correct language, not street language that can be taken incorrectly in the headlines.

Especially with all the abuse of women.

When I saw this headline my first thought was that men who physically abuse women would be punished. This is about sexual harrasement, not beatings.

I HATE the phrase -hit on her- used to mean flirting.

And, yes I know in Saudi "flirting" can involve hitting or smacking a girl as she passes by. Not in the western sense of the word 'flirt'. Many AP readers don't.

Good, in that hot weather a haircut is a sane idea.

Just how do they know that they are flirting with a woman? It could be anything under that tent. There is a Three Stooges theatrical short where Curly flirts with what appears to be a beautiful woman, she removes the veil to reveal a that she is not so good lookin after all.

Maybe they should ask why young Saudi men dis-respect these women. Who no doubt are covered head to toe in order that they are not disrespected by men. Ironic, isn't it.

If one hired an expensive Madison Avenue marketing firm to "get out the word" about Saudi Arabia, directing them to cherry pick "news" from the "kingdom", and to convey that "news" to the infidels in the best possible light with the express intention of leaving the lasting impression among those infidels that there's absolutely nothing to worry about with exotic Saudi Arabia, this item about "flirting" is the exact kind of thing I'd expect to see...

If Saudi Arabia can't quite conceal the disturbing realities of that hellhole from the world, it certainly can pay what's needed to make certain that the Islamic Spin is put on as many bits as often as possible, bits that deflect and cleverly minimize, muddle, and confuse.
