Shi'ite mosques in Iraq blare out Al-Sadr's call to arms; 8 dead overnight

Al-Sadr made his ultimate goal clear on Al-Jazeera a few weeks ago: "What is more important is to make society, not just the government, Islamic." That bodes ill for women and non-Muslims in areas he controls.

"Iraqi Mosques Blare Call To Arms; 8 Dead Overnight," from AFP (thanks to Twostellas):

BAGHDAD (AFP)--Loudspeakers at mosques in Baghdad's Shiite bastion Sadr City blared out a call to arms soon after radical cleric Moqtada al-Sadr warned of a new uprising by his militia, residents said Sunday.

Iraqi security and medical officials, meanwhile, reported another eight people killed overnight in clashes between militiamen and U.S. and Iraqi forces in the embattled township, where fighting has raged since late March.

"Fight the occupiers - get them out of your homes," the late-night loudspeaker messages said, according to residents. "They (U.S.) are calling for division...we demand that the siege of Sadr City be lifted."

The messages also urged the Iraqi army "not to fight your brothers."

Sadr Saturday threatened to declare "open war" if the crackdown by Iraqi and U.S. forces against his militiamen doesn't stop.

"I am giving my last warning and my word to the Iraqi government to take the path of peace and stop violence against its own people, otherwise it will be a government of destruction," he said in a statement issued by his office in the holy city of Najaf. "If it does not stop the militias that have infiltrated the government, then we will declare a war until liberation."

Sadr also lashed out at the Iraqi government's alliance with the U.S. military.

"The occupation has made us the target of its planes, tanks, air strikes and snipers," he said. "Without our support this government would not have been formed.

"But with its alliance with the occupier it is not independent and sovereign as we would like it to be," he said....

Al-Sadr wears a black turban because he's a descendant of satan, the Lord of the Flies, the Father of Lies, Perdition.

Anyone have al-Sadr's e-mail addy?

If they are broadcasting military commands from a mosk then isn't that mosk a legitimate military target?

Ummah,

In a rational world, where everyone played by the accepted norms of warfare, yes, that would be true.

For muslims: "Mount your camels, men! Brandish your scimitars, men! Charge forward and attack the infidel's M1A1 Abhrams tank column, men!

Things were relatively quiet when he first announced a ceasefire, but soon his people renewed their violent ways...they were not happy with the quiet and bloodless streets...It appears he is upset that people are fighting back.

Let them openly attack, then we will know where they are or maybe he has forgotted the debacle at Fullajah..(Muslim militiamen lost big time..)

He has not figured it out yet..more and more Iraqis are getting tired of his BS..and of him.

He would be wise to stay in hiding, just like the rat he is.

A smaller sign posted below this one reads:

Anyone caught shooting at us here will be immediately reported to the MSM and the UN....THis Means You...

No kidding! The threats of death & double standards never cease, do they?

Praise the great God JDAM. Services coming soon. Along with the wrath of Hellfire.

In 5 days there will be a "Humanitarian Crises" when they run out of Food and Water. Guess who will be blamed???

He should have been arrested ages ago for the murder of the other "cleric". Enough with the "winning hearts and minds" strategy already!

LOL. Whatever would you do with al-Sadr's e-mail address, darcy?

Maybe they were paying attention to this:

I still insist that if they use a mosk for military communication then that mosk is a legitimate target for military engagement.

JORGE AL-BIN BUSH-WACK-O BE DAMNED!!

I have no idea why the left hates him so much. He is doing their bidding and that of the SOWdis.. tying our forces' arms beghinfd their backs.. making them fight a politically correct war against an enemy that knows no morals and has no conscience.

IMPEACH THE BUSHTARD NOW!!!!!

And START treating these mosks as the military targets they are!

There were several opportunities already to take this al-shmadr type out already.. WHAT the HELL are we waiting for!!!

I am SICK and TIRED of the ACLU and Shamnesty International and CNN and NBC/CBS laying the ground rules for the war!!!

Let us fight a REAL WAR and watch the jihadists running their ragheaded behinds for the nearest cave...

Traitor Bush!!!! You have a special place reserved for u in HELL!!

ummah gummah,
It's the war part that makes the left hate him. They don't care that our forces are being hamstrung. They care that "one million innocent Iraqis were killed or left homeless in an illegal war waged by a criminal administration that should be brought before the ICC". They care that proud Muslims were forced to wear panties on their heads while some guard took a picture. The military should only be used for humanitarian missions, according to them. Given their druthers, they would choose not to have a military at all. All that money would be used for entitlements, if they had the choice.
A lot of them still think Bush did 9/11, that we attacked ourselves deliberately. Add the murder of three thousand people to Bush's list of crimes when he shows up in the dock at The Hague.

PMK, my remarks on why the leftards hate Bush were facetious since all your reasons are right and there's more.

I still think you either fight a war with all available means.

I still think you fight with your strength and you don't play into the opponent's hands.

This Sadr character could have been takenb out several times.

I am sick and tired of the hand-wringing and please don't call any of these cities the enmy lives in "holy".

The Vatican is holy. Jerusalem is holy. Let's hope it stays holy.
