Got that right. The most "fair" thing would to build religious rooms for any and every religion at the airport (at tremendous expense, of course) ... but that ain't gonna happen.

Schiphol airport in Amsterdam has had state-of-the art footbaths installed for a couple of years now. They're actually footbath cubicles and are located near the airport 'meditation' room which has been virtually monopolised by Muslims anyway. I often pop in for some quick contemplation, hoping to annoy a prayer group with my infidel presence.

Apropos Schiphol, 50,000 people work there and a large number of those are Muslims, many of whom are working on the security side. Dutch journalists have breached security a few times with dangerous materials to demonstrate how inadequate the measures are.

Since Islam is obviously being accommodated and pandered to above all other ‘religions’ here by the Indianapolis Airport Commission, it sure would be a shame if hoards of infidels suddenly mistook them for urinals or better: doggie baths!

The entire concept of wudu is stupid and outdated. I'll admit that quickly rinsing oneself with water five times a day is a good idea for those living in the desert, in tents, without running water and other modern conveniences. It seems a bit excessive, though, for those residing in 21st century Indiana.

Personally, I don't know why anyone would want to wash their feet in a public foot-bath or sink. How exactly is that considered to be hygenic? And the foot-baths will still make a mess-users will still drip water all over the place, and still will not clean up after themselves.

By the way, I have visited a Muslim country--one of the Gulf states--and I didn't notice foot-baths in any public restrooms.

Not to mention, the "prophet" didn't use foot-baths, did he? :)

Well, can we now expect foot baths for muslim bus drivers on London buses next?
I mean - they seem to kick passengers off their bus when they need to pray, as has been reported here - but that driver didn't wash his feet, did he? That can't be right, now can it?
when the drivers don't need that foot bath, especially older ladies would surely like to soak their tired feet while they are being driven home.

This is what I feel about the whole issue of “who do that wudu that you do.”

If my religion required that I wash my privates in a bidet, I would expect members of my religion to chip in to install one.

I visited Indianapolis after Robert's post appeared, and I checked EVERY men's room in the airport, but there wasn't any evidence of these footbaths.

I've since learned that they will put them where the taxi drivers hang out, not where the general public is.

This ONE time, I'm going to say I think footbaths are a good idea.

And there is just ONE reason that I say that. If Muslims are going to be throwing their feet over the sink edge to bath them, then that creates the possibility of an epidemic of schistosomasis, a disease endemic to Egyptian populations, and rampant in many equatorial African countries.

Schistosomasis is a liver fluke that proliferates in stagnant waters, and it has become epidemic in Egypt, where it is the leading cause of death among men 18-40. It exists mainly in the waters on the downsides of large dams.

If a man has schistosomasis, it makes he absolutely incredibly lethargic, as is the case with all liver maladies, since a decline of liver function comes with a comcomitant loss of liver enzymes that run the thyroid gland. So, no energy.

But the deaths from schistosomasis come from an associated cancer of the bladder, from which most fatalities have succumbed.

The way that schistosomasis spread to all those Egyptian men is that they performed the five ritual ablations in stagnant irrigation waters made fetid by the construction of the High Aswan Dam.

Schistosomasis attacks the body not through the digestive system, but through nail beds -- fingernails and toenails.

It is INCREDIBLY infectious and can be transmitted by standing water along countertops and in sinks and by contacts from faucet handles.

If the Indianpolis health inspectors had ANY CLUE the risk they are running, they would have banned all foot-bathing on health grounds before this argument ever got started — and should ban it now. This is a public health issue.

IF YOU CANNOT GO BAREFOOT IN A RESTAURANT, WHY CAN YOU GO BAREFOOT IN ANY PUBLIC PLACE???

There's a reason why public health authorities fear that. Disallowing it makes for fewer diseases, and PARTICULARLY with the schistosomasis cline being what it is in immigrant Central and North African countries, allowing people to remove their shoes in a place where people's fingernail beds are exposed is an astonishing lapse of judgment.

P.S. What I mean is that footbaths are better than SINKS ... for heaven sake get them out of the sinks ... but NO ONE should be allowed to bathe their feet in any public space.

When large numbers of Hmong refugees arrived in St. Paul, Minnesota, some of them began harvesting plants out of the Como Park Conservatory and had to be told that this was not the wilds of Laos and they could not feed in a public garden.

They complied.

If seperation of 'church and state' is not to exist for islam but only for the rest of the religions then we have a major judicial breach of law.

Hey, look I am into hygiene and health, but when it comes to sharia it is disgusting. I mean it is so GROSS because of the stupid laws. I mean when it comes to patient care in hospitals of surgery rooms, if sharia laws are passed you have infection after infection. Sharia laws are completely the opposite of equality, human rights and dignity. It amazes me that western leaders are complacent about it, and the Media does not even want to point it out.

It's sad to see the way you guys dehumanize Muslims. They're people just like you. They just happen to have been born in a place where the local flavor of religion was X instead of the flavor it was in your hometown. They have different customs than you: That's OK. You probably do some customs that would be odd to an outsider, too.

If we make an accommodation to someone else's religion, it's just being polite. If you really think that installing footbaths will lead to Islam conquering America, then you must not have much confidence in the current set of American values.

Muslims do a great job at dehumaizing themselves. They dont need our help at all. Where they are born has nothing to do with it. You have many jihadists and intolerant Muslims born and raised in the West.

I am sure he means well, but unfortunately, he is not even qualified to run a McDonalds, ;et alone a country.

I gather that the footbaths will be in a facility somewhat removed from the main terminal; a facility that is mainly used by cab drivers--of which none are likely female.

Female Muslim employees who work in the main terminal or the freight terminal, or in ticketing, or other locations remote from the cabbie hangout will (based upon American Civil Rights Laws unknown to their co-religionists in true Muslim societies) ultimately demand the installation of such footbaths in lavatories closer to their particular work places.

Once footbaths are installed in that first lavatory, they will eventually be installed in every lavatory at the airport.

And then at every lavatory in Indianapolis where Muslims work.

And then all of Indiana.

And then all of America.

First it's foot baths in airports.

Then it's hijabs on drivers licenses.

Then it's no alcohol, dogs, or Gays in Muslim driven taxis.

Then it's (male) Muslim patients who refuse to be seen by -- or be in the presence of -- female doctors or nurses. And female Muslim patients who refuse to (or actually "forbidden to" by their male overlords) be seen by -- or be in the presence of male doctors or nurses.

Then it's separate gymnasium times for female Muslim "coeds" (how ironic that term is in this context) on college campuses, lest some man see any part of them uncovered.

Then it's "Islamic banking"

Then it's separate judiciary for Muslim communities within Non-muslim countries.

Then it's "No-Go Zones" in western cities (as in England and elsewhere in Europe today) where you better not be caught alone or after dark if you're an indiginous Infidel (not hard to spot in these neighborhoods).

Then it's "Youths" rioting for weeks on end (as in France and elsewhere in Europe today) if some perceived or actual grievance isn't met by total capitulation and appeasement by the local or national indiginous government.

Then it's restriction, censorship, and punishment for any (free) speech, art, or expression which is considered by Muslims to be insulting to Muhammed or Islam; A very wide net indeed as we've come to see.

And yes, over many years, with multiplying Muslim populations and no effective resistance, will come the inevitable claims, intimidation, and violence, to establish separate "autonomous regions" for Islamic self-determination and governance within formerly infidel lands.

Eventually, such indiginous, Non-muslim populations who lived in those lands will be subjugated, expelled, or killed. That's the Islamic way and history confirms it.

This might make sense for another group of people ( or not even that really ) but not for Muslims. For Muslims it becomes appeasement because they refuse to make accomodations for others.

There is no point being polite to Muslims. They interpret it as a weakness to be exploited.

It will be really interesting when they try to get these kinds of accommodation's at the Indy Speedway!

Or a threatened boycott by the people who attend those races.

Sounds to me like a modified toilet for Lawn Gnomes or prime prank material you know like pouring a tube of concrete into it at night.

Or a great place to leave irritating literature.

I swear to GOD that I will clear my throat and spit into every single "Muslim Footbath" that I see in a mens room, EVERY time I see one.

Or sprinkle in a few drops or red food coloring and a "womens hygiene article."
