SANAA, April 6 (Reuters) - Yemen's Shi'ite rebels destroyed the vacant house of the mainly Muslim Arab state's top rabbi, a security official said on Sunday.Residents said the assailants from a group opposed to the U.S.-allied government destroyed the house of Yehia Youssuf in Saada, a northern province. The security official said it was not immediately known what weapons were used in the attack.
"They turned to the houses of other Jews after," one resident said.
About 200 Yemeni Jews who lived in Saada, including Youssef, have been living in the capital Sanaa due to sporadic fighting between government forces and the rebel group, known as the Houthis.
Why are they doing this? islam is a religion of peace! And the Jews, the People of the Book, are "protected people".

It's almost a certainty that this event will not appear in most of the mainstream media. However, any acts hostile to Islam or to Muslims will receive prominent coverage. Case in point - moments before I began writing this (Sunday, April 6, 6:06 P.M. EDT), I noticed that Yahoo News listed among its headlines on the Yahoo home page that a large number of Muslim headstones in a French military cemetary have been defaced, many with swastikas painted on them. While I find this repugnant and stupid, I await the firestorm that will, in all probability, result. The spectre of "Islamophobia" has already been invoked, and the French government and police are on alert to hunt down the perpetrators. Of course, innumerable Jewish graves in France and elsewhere have been desecrated by Muslims (yes, others are also responsible), but coverage of such events is near-nonexistent, and somehow such events rarely if ever motivate the governments of Germany, France, et al. to react with such immediacy and urgency. But this is hardly news to Jihad Watch readers.
Remember that Farrakhan stooge scum who posted some nonsense about Gaza on Barack's churches newsletter? He said that his Muslim pals were going to establish a democratic state where everyone would be equal. Wonder what that bag of garbage would say about this one?

The Yemeni Jews were treated as chattels, virtual slaves, in Yemen. As R. S. Serjeant, a British scholar, reported in the 1950s, if a Jew belonging to Arab Tribe A was killed by an Arab of Arab Tribe B, then the Arabs of Arab Tribe A would, to do justice, kill a Jew who belonged to Arab Tribe B. That was how things were done in Yemen. They were limited, too, in lines of work, and one of those which Jews were condemned to fill was the cleaning of public latrines.
