Enforcing Sharia at UC-Irvine

In "UC Irvine Still Enforcing Sharia Law" by Jonathan Constantine Movroydis and Reut Cohen at Pajamas Media, May 22, we see how dhimmi university administrators allow Muslim students to enforce Sharia provisions (no filming of the "sisters") on the campus of a public university:

...The featured speaker last Thursday, May 15, was Amir Abdel Malik-Ali, a radical imam from Oakland who is all too familiar to UCI students. Malik-Ali frequently engages in anti-Western rhetoric and is a vocal supporter of terrorist groups. Not only has he praised Hamas, Hezbollah, and the mujahadeen in Afghanistan as “Islamic resistance” movements struggling against Western “oppressors,” he has called any scrutiny of these terror groups mere “propaganda.” Following Ali’s speeches to UCI’s MSU, the audiences of keffiyah-wearing Muslim students always repetitively recite the battle cry “Takbir! Allahu Akbar!” This year’s audience was no different.

While his rhetoric is lurid and apocalyptic, Malik-Ali’s speech is protected under the First Amendment. What’s alarming is the administration’s willingness to enforce the MSU’s prerogatives on other students who attend their events — hence the application of Sharia law where the Bill of Rights is applicable. For example, while videotaping Malik-Ali’s speech, we were confronted by a school administrator. Dean of Student Services Sally Peterson told us that, on behalf of the male students, we would have to stop filming the female activists, or as she called them “the sisters.” Aware of our rights, we refused her orders and continued covering the event.

As we continued our coverage of the festivities, members of the MSU ultimately decided to enforce what appears to be their own principle of just retribution. After Thursday’s event, the MSU walked up and down the main campus road chanting anti-Israel slogans and blocking off the entire walkway for several minutes while police and administrators stood by idly.

A male individual, who was filming the hateful procession, had at least three Muslim males charge at him for daring to film as the females from the group walked past. One of the males, a student named Yasser Ahmed who purportedly threw a cinderblock at an FBI vehicle last year, said to the cameraman: “You wanna get jacked! We can go get jacked right now! C’mon Emanuel, we’ve learned a lot about you let’s go! Lets go get jacked, Lets go get jacked!”

The UCI police department treated this incident unprofessionally and took no action. The student journalist gave his statement to a UCI police officer and explained how he was assaulted. The officer then went to take statements from the males MSU members. The police would not, however, take statements from those who witnessed the assault against the student journalist. After the police officer took statements, he told the student journalist that one of the males who charged at him had apologized and that nothing more could be done.

A Christian preacher on campus, Michael Venyah, also had his rights violated last Thursday. This preacher, who believes that all people must accept Jesus in order to get into heaven, began preaching about the prophet Mohammad and his crimes. Evidently, MSU members didn’t like hearing what he had to say and opted for charging and running into him. This was clearly an incident of assault. The cops present did nothing, and Dean of Judicial Affairs Edgar Dormitorio suggested that Mr. Venyah should leave.

Another case of MSU’s vigilantism occurred when a young Jewish female was followed back to her car and surrounded by six members of the MSU. A community member who witnessed the harassment also had her civil rights violated when the Muslim students noticed her. As UC Irvine police offers stood idly by, the Muslim students proceeded to situate themselves on the hood of her car in order to photograph her face, her vehicle identification number, and her license plate. When she later called the police department for answers, they justified the criminal behavior as the culmination of a tit for tat ethnic squabble. Put simply, they justified the need for Muslim students to “vent,” as they were just getting back at the Jews.

One group at UC Irvine has monopolized freedom of speech and expression. MSU organizers have taken it upon themselves to restrict the freedoms of others on the university campus and have managed to avoid significant criticism from the administration. Conversely, those who voice concern over MSU’s actions are depicted as stirring up trouble....

I didn't read the whole article, but where is UC Irvine? I'm assuming it's in some Islamic country.

"where is UC Irvine..."
---from a posting above

One of the constitute campuses of the University of California system, on land formerly part of the Irvine Ranch, and donated to the state by its canny owners -- a donation whose donors might wish to rethink. And near Laguna Beach, where girls still wear bikinis, it is possible --if the Muslim bully-boys whose incipient storm-trooper tactics (a whiff of Berlin, circa 1937) were ever to prevail -- that those girls in the future would have a sea-side life limited to Beach Burqa Bingo -- and hold the bingo.

All I can say is thank god for the second amendment.

If these animals start to harass normal citizens and openly think they are not subject to the law (and who can blame them if we do not enforce our laws), then self defense is the last line of defense.

"From my cold dead hands"

Hopefully, the word will go out and non-Muslims won't bother applying to UCI in the future. Without any non-Muslims to attack, the Muslim students will obviously attack the faculty and staff next. We'll see if these Sharia-abetting idiots finally wake up then.

"the MSU walked up and down the main campus road chanting anti-Israel slogans and blocking off the entire walkway for several minutes while police and administrators stood by idly"

This is just how the authorities embolden them.
In London we had that hook handed pork muncher abu hamza and his gang sitting in the road out side of the mosque praying and ranting and our police did nothing.
It is a criminal offence to obstruct a public highway, but they did nothing.
Let them get away with minor offences now and there will quite litrally be hell to pay later.

This reminds me of the Nazi Brown Shirts, the thugs who softened up Germany for the Nazi takeover. What is it about our society today that creates such weak men and women who will not take a stand? Tepid passivity is the order of the day. Why are the police doing nothing? Is that what the administration has said they want?

As I see and hear what is happening in the world I feel as though I am witnessing a slow-motion train wreck. A global disaster is unfolding, a disaster that is not inevitable but for the inaction of those who could stop it, but are doing nothing. Some of us are pointing out the obvious, but like a bad dream, they go on as if we weren't there.

Jihad will ultimately fail, but as with Nazism, the costs of stopping the fanatics later will be so much greater. Needless suffering will result all around. What a waste.

I've wondered about that for some time now.

When will Americans acknowledge the serious threat we face, and take matters into their own hands? I'm beginning to think that some well placed infidel vigilante justice just might be tolerated by some Americans. I'm still having mixed feelings about it myself, but as things get worse for us infidels, I suspect my feelings will change. How many others have these thoughts? What's the tipping point? How will our citizens react to the homocide bombs in malls, and public transportation? If it gets to the levels of Israel, what will happen? Will there be people taking the law into their own hands? Will we fight fire with fire? Will our own government finally take action against the islamists, or will they just target Americans defending their way of life? Unfortunately, I think our government will defend the islamists against us....

I love beach girls women in tank tops and bikini clad women. What a wonderful site on the beach together with the sun and sand and surf, not to forget the palm trees. Nice. There should be signs, burkas banned. Sharia banned. I hope Islam and Sharia do not get a foothold in the good old US of A.

"they justified the criminal behavior as the culmination of a tit for tat ethnic squabble."

"They" being the police. Since when are the cops qualified to make such assessments?

And, "Tit for tat..." Would that be something like the "ethnic" tit for tat the Palestinians are continually trying to stir up with Israelis?

Harrassing those women was no game. It was assault, and the perpetrators should have to answer for it.

What about the poor Muslimahs, who were filmed? Well, they were marching to be seen, weren't they? They were news, and fair game to reporters, professional and amateur alike.

This all goes to show that Marxism's Gramsci-esque "march through the institutions" has been an unmitigated disaster for Western civilization. Those fools won't have Christ, with his light burden, to rule over them, so they're getting Muhammad with his unbridled male lusts and delight in violence.

"God gave them up..." says Paul in Romans One. I pray that God will be merciful and turn us before it is too late, but I sometimes fear that the ball is rolling for a very bloody and miserable period in history.

The freedom that is being conceded to these ideological thugs has always been seen as a strength in America. Standing by that freedom, no matter how risky, has always been a challenge. "Radical" (which continues to look like normal) Islam represents a new, and very acute, instance of that challenge. And...

is that the whole story? Does someone expect that demonstrators on behalf of terrorist groups, who express virulent hatred for the very Western world that is granting them this freedom, will be so impressed by American pluralism and tolerance that they will eventually convert to an endorsement of its values, like recognizing the rights of people other than themselves? Is that what European imams are doing when they "look forward" to recovering the Kingdom of Granada?

The only hopeful note in this depressing story is the one struck by the team filming the event when they refuse to comply with the directive (from the university!) not to film the Muslim women. For the best of reasons: they know their rights.

Apart from that, where is the hope in this? What is the future for American and Western freedoms when universities are run by unthinking cowards who bow and scrape to the enemies of the very freedoms they think they are defending?

Some ancient Greek thinker, I forget who, said that democracy suffered from a weakness: it would only last until the people realized that they could vote themselves endless money out of public funds. Today the weakness seems much more radical. Democracy can only last until its freedoms are extended to those who despise them. At that point democratic freedoms become liabilities.

I'm not aware that this has been revealed before in American history, though it might have been. As far as religions are concerned the problem doesn't seem to arise with any other, no matter how alien their thinking may be from a Western point of view. The problem is here now, though. It starts with an I and ends with a slam.

Beach Burqa Bingo. LOL.

Let's face it, the administrators at UCI are terrified of Muslim aggression. They can't even protect a young Jewish girl from Muslim thugs intimidating her in the parking lot? It's a shame. A dual standard for over protected political correctness, sick. Follow the money trail to UCI's donations, bet there's a stinky one all the way back to Arabia. If the most ignorant people on Earth can control our universities, we're sunk! Nothing left for the administrators by to do the shahada, and then the rest of us are on our own against the cult of the Mesopotamian war god Allah.

"and our police did nothing."

Why WAS that allowed?

This only demonstrates more to me that liberals are weak and mentally ill. This should not be tolerated in the USA and we should all send emails to that university protesting their lack of action. This is one of the many reasons I support the second Amendment 100%.

Their actions could cause many Americans to hate them and that would be sad for the patriotic Muslims. Why are they so quiet??

Someone needs to file a hefty lawsuit against the MSU and UCI.

"Someone needs to file a hefty lawsuit against the MSU and UCI."

Yes, and likely it will be CAIR, against the filming of "the sisters"!

It's part of a global pattern. First overwhelm the place with sheer numbers, make a damned nuisance of yourselves, make the kafirs avoid the place - takeover complete. Find next target. Wanna see the pattern? Muslim ghettoes in Delhi, Gaza, Paris, London, Cyprus partitioned, India partitioned, French police scared to venture into certain areas of Paris, Somalis terrorizing kids in some Californian school, Lebanon a lost cause, Kashmiri Hindus massacred and chased out of their homes, Bangladeshi immigrants changing the demographic profile of entire districts in Eastern India... The list could fill a book. See this pattern and deal with it asap. Later will be too late.

... that's just one year's worth, there were more articles in between and earlier..

Let's face it, there is no place at all in our universities for Islamists. None. They want to go to college, the Islamists can attend the Islamic University of Medina. That's a great place for them to stay, permanently. And to never come here, ever.
