Grand Mufti of Lebanon denounces Hizballah; violent clashes in Beirut

"The clashes threatened to degenerate into an all-out sectarian conflict, with Hezbollah seizing offices of a major Sunni group and the Sunnis' spiritual leader denouncing the militant faction and appealing to the Islamic world to intervene."

Sunni-Shi'ite Jihad Update. "Grand Mufti: We had enough of Hezbollah," from Ya Libnan, May 8:

Beirut- Lebanon's long-simmering political crisis erupted into violent clashes between supporters of Hezbollah-led opposition and those of the government Wednesday, with explosions and gunfire ringing out across the capital after Hezbollah paralyzed much of the city with roadblocks of burning tires.
The clashes threatened to degenerate into an all-out sectarian conflict, with Hezbollah seizing offices of a major Sunni group and the Sunnis' spiritual leader denouncing the militant faction and appealing to the Islamic world to intervene.
"Sunni Muslims in Lebanon have had enough," Grand Mufti Mohammed Rashid Kabbani said in a televised address from his office, demanding an "end to these violations."
In unusually harsh words, he described Hezbollah as "armed gangs of outlaws that have carried out the ugliest attacks against the citizens and their safety," and called on Hezbollah leaders to withdraw their supporters from Sunni neighborhoods in Beirut.
Kabbani implicitly criticized Iran, saying "it is regrettable and sad that an Islamic state is funding such infringements that hurt the unity of Lebanese Muslims."
He warned Hezbollah against attacking the Lebanese civilians and hegemony over the Lebanese state and governmental institutions
What started Wednesday as a labor union strike supported by Hezbollah to protest the government's economic policies and demand pay raises quickly escalated into outright conflict at a time of rising political tension between the militant group and the government in their 17-month-long standoff.

Now Kabbani has got a taste of what Israel experiences everyday from Hezbollah. Let's hope they finish off Hezbollah so Israel won't have to.

If there was no Israel the whole Middle East would look like Lebanon. They should thank the Israelis for giving them such peace.

Don't worry. All the Muslims will join hands, hug, kiss and make up when reminded of their common Zionist, Maronite, American and other assorted infidel enemies.

Good news from Lebanon. The blood thirsty Hezbollah, after failing to accomplish anything in two years since Israel crushed them in Lebanon they are now trying to show their mussels against their peaceful Christian neighbors in Lebanon. The Civil war in Lebanon is inevitable before the end of this year. Hezbollah is trying very hard to start one. Hezbollah will not fire the first shot but it has pushed its adversaries to desperate situation with their back against the wall. Looks like Hezbollah is going to get its wish after all. The war will last about one month and more than a million rats will die and between 200,000 and 400,000 Christians in addition to the million rats. Since everyone in Lebanon is well armed with ample ammunition to destroy each other they will all do a lot of damage.

Estimated casualty as follows:

10,000 to 50,000 Shiaa Hezbollah
200,000 to 400,000 Christians
300,000 to 800,000 Sunah

It will be a rat kill rats war and Allahu Akbar!

Once Hezbollah gets to control Lebanon totally then Iran gets one of their pincers into position for eventually blackmailing/controlling the West.
The Gulf States should be no big deal to control and position the other claw and with nuclear weapons there is no one in the West with cujones to take them on without the backing of the Chinese.
Iran is already positioning itself in South America to add discomfort to America's flank.
And by the time sufficient Americans wake up for Congress to stop denying the short term needs of nuclear power and drilling off the coasts, they will be facing an "offer they cannot refuse"!

Lebanese:

Mussels? Since when are shellfish useed in jihad? That's the first time I've ever heard of fish as a weapon. What are the Hezbollah doing with their "mussels"? Are they broiled or baked?

/sarc off

make that "used" (not useed)

I predict civil war resumes in Lebanon sometime soon..

"...appealing to the Islamic world to intervene."

the only method of appeals that the Islamic world uses is one that involves violence (and the more the merrier). you know, gangland style, "Do as Say or you die."

THe Islamic world used to use Taqqiyya, Dawa, Tu Quoque, and other methods to mislead you or to place blame on you, but the world is wising up to the Islamic double speak..violence is all they have left..and violence seems to be their preffered method of negotiations anyway...

Just look anywhere in the world where Muslims of different sects reside together, or in some instances where the same sect resides in an area..they cannot peaceably reside with one another. And we keep letting these people in our countries..it is time to tighten those immigration laws immediately..

A clash between Hezbollah and all the rest -- the immediate present cause of unrest is the attempt by the Siniora government to shut down Hezbollah's Iranian-supplied telecommunication system within Lebanon, and also the firing of the Hezbollah-and-Iran-linked general in charge of security at the Beirut Airport -- is greatly to be desired. As Iran pushes for greater and greater power, it is also, apparently, not hesitating to engage in proselytizing on behalf of Shi'a Islam. The methods chosen are the same used traditionally by all Muslims in converting non-Muslims: building mosques, and offering financial inducements to the poor.

This worries Sunnis. Indeed, that indispensable organization MEMRI has just translated a tape of an interview with a Sunni Muslim, apparently a leader in the Muslim Brotherhood in Syria, in which the most important part is not, pace MEMRI, the business toward the end about the future relations between Syria and Israel. That's just the usual boilerplate, designed to win some support in Washington to be used against Assad.

No, much more important is the complaint, by this Sunni member of the Ikhwan, that Syria is rapidly becoming a puppet of Iran. Much more important is the alarm he expresses -- whether that alarm is truly justified is beside the point, the point is the alarm itself -- about Iranian penetration into Syrian society and Shi'a proselytizinig efforts -- apparently successful -- among Sunni Arabs in Syria:

This kind of alarm is not to be discouraged.

A Christian broadcaster that broadcasts throughout the Middle East, SAT7, put out an urgent request for prayer this morning for its staff in Beirut.

Also, please consider financially supporting them as well if you believe in their mission.

Thanks,

This kind of behavior should not only be encouraged, but fomented by the West.

And if there are any refugees to be brought to the U.S., limit it to Lebanese Christians only.
