Hmm. Now what countries might those be? Might this story have any resemblance to this one?
"FBI busts 'special interest' illegals," from KRQE (thanks to Sarah):
ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - FBI agents on Wednesday busted 10 people they termed "special interest illegal aliens" for allegedly trying to use fraudulent documents to get New Mexico drivers licenses.A Motor Vehicle Division employee alerted police several weeks ago about what the employee believed to be a fraudulent attempt to get a license, according to an FBI news release.
Albuquerque police called the FBI, which worked with Immigrations and Customs Enforcement to investigate the incident.
The investigation showed that several New Mexico residents had allegedly been fabricating proof of residence documents to allow people from out of the country to obtain authentic licenses.
The FBI said the New Mexico residents were themselves illegal immigrants.
While the FBI isn't saying which countries the 10 came from, the news release said "certain countries are associated with special national security concerns," and that using the term "special interest alien" depends on which a given person is from....
From countries associated with 'Special security concerns?' Now if you'll excuse me I'll go to the 'little boy's room' and 'see a man about a dog'.
It's grown beyond insulting that the government won't be honest with us, even in its use of the English language... because they think we can't handle the truth.
Only they can handle the truth. Only they dispense the truth.
Word to government baby-sitters: We're not your children. We're big boys and girls. Either STFU or give it to us straight. The way you are now, you're part of the problem, not part of the solution.
"Special interest aliens" seeking driver's licenses...
Move along, nothing to see here. Just another rumor out of Roswell.
Tourist alert! Tourist alert!
Sure can't be no stinking terrorist.
No terrorist connection for sure.
Just misguided tourists.
Montjoie!

“Special security concerns”…….hmmmmmmm?.........typical bureaucratic double speak from a dangerous & naive government that still refuses to name our enemy.
Those lazy b@st@rds should have taken the trouble to come to Maryland. Governor Martin O'Malley would be happy to give them driver's licenses and probalby register them to vote as well. Maryland - the Free State!
Hey it's a "Global Community"

If we just love them enough, they will be nice.
The FBI said the New Mexico residents were themselves illegal immigrants.
At least they didn't call them "people living in the US without documentation". It's a start.

So does this mean "just plain illegal aliens" would never have been arrested?
I fear the answer is yes. It sounds like a case of unequal treatment before the law. Those arrested should sue, pointing to the many illegals already in New Mexico and the governor's tacit approval of their presence.
"The FBI said the New Mexico residents were themselves illegal immigrants." -- from the article
And all of the Three Amigos running for president want amnesty for illegal aliens, presumably including these enablers of terrorism.
Alan Keyes for president, anyone?

Our national leaders are not idiots, blissfully unaware of the truth.
Nor are they trying to shield us from a truth which they believe we can't handle.
Either of the above would almost be excusable.
I am firmly convinced that the leaders of our government are deliberately attempting to conceal the truth for no other reason than to further their own political careers.
Our leaders, regardless of party, are scared to death of being labeled "islamophobic", "racist", or "intolerant". They believe that being so labeled will ruin their chances of being re-elected or re-appointed.
I believe that they are aware of the fact that refusing to acknowledge the problem effectively prevents us from solving the problem. But they have deliberately chosen this path because it is more likely to keep them in power.
In short, they have chosen their own political careers over the survival of our nation.
Harsh words, I know, and I really, REALLY wish that this was not the case.
But unless we get a whole crop of national leaders who are willing to identify the real enemy, and are willing to actually fight a real war against the enemy, we as a nation are doomed.
BOOM! Direct hit for shortfattexan.
Phares Quoted in Clare Lopez article in Middle East Times: "Score one for the Muslim Brotherhood"
"As Walid Phares describes in his post-9/11 three-book series on the meaning, structure, and progress of the current jihad, words can be enormously influential in the war of ideas. So, when the White House announces that government employees both at home and abroad must employ euphemisms such as "violent extremists" or "South Asian youths" instead of "Muslim jihadis" because the latter somehow confers legitimacy on the enemy, the entire Islamic world understands that the U.S. leadership has been infiltrated and influenced to a state of almost unbelievable confusion about this war."
Phares also suggests the only cure for this sorry state is a popular uprising. A talk show host from San Fransisco by the last name Savage
makes the same suggestion.
Montjoie!

shortfattexan,
WHY? The American people are looking for action. They want our borders protected and our laws enforced. They want illegal immigration curtailed. As for "islamophobia", the only people who would use that argument are in CAIR.
Did you know yesterday was Law Day - the day America celebrates its government of law?
If this is what these candidates believe then it shows just how out of touch they are with most Americans. They don't deserve to be elected. If, on the other hand, we vote for them then we deserve to have them for leaders.
RSI,
Alan Keyes for president? Absolutely NOT! Thank the lord that Keyes was denied the Constitution Party's nomination. I might vote for them again. Just have to see what develops.
ShortFat -
Sorry, but I must disagree. President Bush persists in border non-enforcement though he has no political future as a second-term President.
President Bush is a fool - the same, tongue-tied, marginally-educated, stuttering fool we elected eight years ago.
Thank God for alert, patriotic Americans! How many times have alert, patriotic Americans thwarted the plans of jihadis? Thank be to God that someone was willing to get involved!
It seems possible the DMV employee reported to the FBI based on some SOP, not because of a sense of duty or patriotism. There's no way to know right now.
Personally, I tend to believe most Americans are sitting around, watching Dancin' With the Stars, and can only be counted on to mutter "WTF was that?" when the next attack explodes in their TV sets.
I hope I'm wrong.
undaunted,
I believe you're wrong - partly. The problem is: what can we do? We can't take the law into our own hands. We get after our representatives. We make our feelings known and what do we get in return? We're called bigots by the likes of BOTH Ted Kennedy and John McCain. Barack Obama calls us bitter. People cope in their own way.
When the next attack comes some people will indeed be watching Dancing with the Stars or American Idol or a baseball game because they didn't know what else to do. They couldn't work themselves into a tizzy worrying about something they were powerless to prevent. They had every right to go on living. When ignorance is bliss, tis folly to be wise.
Stipulated, PMK. Thanks.
Well, we have found a non-threatening (to Muslims) name for terrorists - "Special interest terrorists."

Whatever happened to "person of interest"?
Multi-Cultural reporting at its best.
Johnny Jihad caught crossing the Border. Is that what they are getting so wordy about?
That's Yahya Mujahid to you, flowerkafir. [LOL]
ALBUQUERQUE...Could it be a coincidence that there is a Large Nuclear Weapons Program etc, etc, etc, there?? That's where I went to several "nuke" related schools anyway; Hey, maybe they just wanted to get an education.? No, couldn't be.
I'm sure they were just there to go to the Nuclear Museum as tourists but had to sneak in the country illegally because of RACISM and RACIAL PROFILING. yeah, that's the ticket. Right turn at ALBUQUERQUE.
BirdHouseFrog speaks on this. http://nukalarjihad.blogspot.com/
The "Special Interest Illegal Alien" is an illegal alien that the US authorities might actually consider deporting. I mean how much more "special" can one get?
