New OBL tape: Secular Arab leaders "agents of the Crusaders"

Probably he had people like Mubarak and Musharraf in mind, although in my book both could be much more effective agents of the Crusaders than they have been up to now.

"Bin Laden lashes out at Arab leaders," by Omar Sinan for AP (thanks to Jeffrey Imm):

CAIRO, Egypt - Osama bin Laden released a new message on Sunday denouncing Arab leaders for sacrificing the Palestinians and saying the head of the Shiite militant group Hezbollah did not really have the strength to take on Israel.

In his second audio message in three days focusing on the Palestinians, the al-Qaida leader said the only way to liberate Palestine is to fight the Arab regimes that are protecting Israel. And he called on Muslim militants in Egypt to help break the blockade of Gaza.

Bin Laden said Muslims should ignore the Islamic prohibition against raising arms against fellow Muslims, claiming it was legitimate to rise up against leaders who are not governing according to Islamic law. Those leaders, he said, came to power "either by a military coup or with backing from foreign forces."

This is the phenomenon of takfir, which Salafi ("pure") Muslims practice much more frequently than do other Muslims. It is the practice of declaring fellow Muslims to be unbelievers -- in this case, Osama is saying that secular Muslim rulers are not Muslims because they do not implement Sharia.

"Those (Arab) kings and leaders sacrificed Palestine and Al-Aqsa to keep their crowns," bin Laden said, referring to Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem, one of Islam's holiest sites. "But we will not be relieved of this responsibility."

[...]

He calls Arab leaders "agents of the crusaders" and "wolves" and portrays Arab citizens as herds of sheep who have been handed over to the wolves to look after them.

"Every day, the herd wishes the wolves would stop preying on it," he said.

He said Israel was weak but the Arabs have not fought "even a single serious war to get Palestine back."...

Hezbollah hasn't enough strength to take on Israel?

Why, I thought they were 100% victorious in Lebanon! I thought it was only a matter of time before Nasrallah would dictate to his minions from Jerusalem.

I guess Sheik Osama doesn't buy the propaganda.

"Every day, the herd wishes the wolves would stop preying on it," he said.

Colorful. He has such a facility with words.

I was talking to a "moderate" egyptian Muslim a few days ago, who said that OBL cherry-picks on the Koran. I felt that encouraging. But later he started to defend Sharia. Maybe in his most intimate he is eager for the wolf as OBL refers to.

BTW. I droped by a movie from PBS: "Mohammed: legacy of a prophet" (on
http://www.pbs.org/muhammad/index.shtml). is this old or new.

And then I almost had a heart attack with "The Islam project" on
http://www.islamproject.org/

:-((

Extreme Muslims want to kill us.
"Moderate" ones just want to impose Sharia on us.
Either way we lose.

That "cherry picking" is getting old. It is POINTING out the violent verses.

So, the way forward is to take out the "agents of the crusaders" secular Arab leaders who are not true believers. Will these leaders be deposed or assassinated as happened after a previous failed war against Israel? Risky business being an Arab leader.

Everything he say is true from the islamist's perspective. He's simply trying to rally the troops. THATS THE WAY WE SHOULD UNDERSTAND IT!

What is most striking to me is the mental feebleness of even the most clever of the jihaddis. I account it to the toxicity to the mind of their ideology.

He said Israel was weak but the Arabs have not fought "even a single serious war to get Palestine back."...

Which I supposed means that the first 3 multinational wars against Israel don't count? Didn't happen? Weren't really "serious"?

And yet while Israel is "weak",

the head of the Shiite militant group Hezbollah did not really have the strength to take on Israel

But while Hezbollah is too wussy to cut it in a fight with weak/strong Israel,

he called on Muslim militants in Egypt to help break the blockade of Gaza

... which I presume refers to both Israel and Egypt, those "militants" in Egypt being much more macho than those weak sister Hezbollah wimps.

Irrational philosophy leads to general incoherence. The more irrational the philosophy the more general the incoherence.

Neither intelligence nor formal education can make much difference.

But the geniuses in Washington would have us believe that popular elections and prissily polite vocabulary will fix it all.

Oh, and "dialogue" with these mental fun-house jobs is going to help too.

I don't know how we solve this problem as long as the Arab Street keeps naming their babies after the Sheik.

"He said Israel was weak but the Arabs have not fought "even a single serious war to get Palestine back."...

Good old Osama, He Hates Infidels, but it appears he Hates Muslims too. He just wants to see the blood flowing. He is suggesting that Muslims kill other Muslims who do not follow his desire to see Infidel blood flowing.

Palestinians grip and complain about being "oppressed" by Israel and the rest of the world. Perhaps if the Palestinians starting behaving like peaceful people and showed the world they could actually do something other than lob missiles and kill any non Muslim they get their hands on they might see an improvement in their lives.

The world has come to know Palestinians as a people dedicated to hate, violence, and murder. It is as if they read the Qur'an and listen to bozos like Osama bin-Laden.

by the way, it appears that Osama is trying to turn up the violence by referring to infidels as crusaders. Muslims seem to forget the fact, that the only time the crusaders appeared was after many years of constant Muslim attacks..

He said Israel was weak but the Arabs have not fought "even a single serious war to get Palestine back."...said by OBL

When Muslim arab countries attack head on they lose the war..muslims do well whena by attacking by ambush or firing among women and children. these cowards can only become terrorists attacking unarmed civilians.

calatrava ~

Legacy of a Prophet has Karen Armstrong as it's featured expert. That should tell you all you need to know. It shows Mo as a shining leader who never hurt anyone as he swept across Arabia and North Africa gaining loving converts everywhere based on his peaceful religion. Even as it shows muslims racing around whirling swords.

It is made to gain converts. Just like anything Karen Armstrong has her hands in.

I wonder if all this stuff comes off the top of Osama's head, or does he have a script writer?

"Bin Laden said Muslims should ignore the Islamic prohibition against raising arms against fellow Muslims..."

Ignore an Islamic prohibition? Just ignore it, because bin Laden says so? Who does he think he is, to second-guess Mohammed and Allah? Ignore it, why? Because it's inconvenient to observe it? Wish my religion worked that way.

He's gonna burn, for that! Eternally, with his flesh renewed after each burning, in order to burn it again...

Not that I have a problem with that.

"it appears that Osama is trying to turn up the violence by referring to infidels as crusaders."

Yeah, that crap is getting old. Crusade, Crusaders, blah, blah, blah... Not only do Muslims forget that the real Crusades were a response to Muslim attacks, they conveniently forget that many of the countries they refer to today, with this silly propaganda, didn't exist during historical period of the Crusades.

He said Israel was weak but the Arabs have not fought "even a single serious war to get Palestine back."...

Which I supposed means that the first 3 multinational wars against Israel don't count? Didn't happen? Weren't really "serious"?

-by joeblough

They happened but they weren't serious because if they had been SERIOUS then Israel wouldn't exist.
That is the Muslim logic. If we lose we must not have tried hard enough. That war in 1948 netted them the Gaza Strip and the West Bank but not the whole kit and kaboodle so it just wasn't serious.

Did Obama give a rat's behind about the Palestinians prior to 9/11, or was it just a fringe benefit?

He seemed occupied with getting the US out of Saudi Arabia. Once we left, he should have declared "mission accomplished" and hung up his rifle. He appeared to seize on the Palestinian cause only after 9/11. It gave Muslims around the world an excuse to continue supporting him without incurring the wrath (if there was any) of the US government.

Osama bin Laden released a new message . . . saying the head of the Shiite militant group Hezbollah did not really have the strength to take on Israel.
.............................

This is just a bit of Sunni/Shi'ite jockeying. One of the few Muslim nations to criticise Hezbollah is Saudi Arabia, but only because they are loathe to see increased Shi'ite influence in the region via the Iranian-backed organization. Unfortunately, some clueless Westerners have seen this as a sign of Saudi "moderation".

Iran and Saudi Arabia are vying to see which specific version of Islamic hell to visit on Israel and the rest of the civilized world.

Let them have their civil war.
