Do NOT give him the death penalty. Incarcerate him in a small, dark cell under the Rocky Mountains, serve his halal meals from a tray which also carries a large plate of bacon, and remind him every day, "By Allah, I don't know what Allah will do with you when you die."
And every day, during prayers, as he goes madder and more insane, whisper to him, "Watch out you don't go to sleep during prayers, Satan will piss in your ears" and "Did you remember to rinse your nose, I think I saw Satan going in there as you slept".
Yes, I think that is just the punishment for our terrorist-mastermind-would-be-martyr.
Execute him but tell him that after the execution his body will be rubbed in pig's lard and then buried in an unmarked grave. Instead of an orgy of drinking and sex with virgins he will instead be haunted by the 3,000 innocent souls he helped execute for eternity.
I'm normally all for the death penalty, but in this case, I'm with O'Bannon. Death is the easy way out for this wretch. His punishment should be a life unworth living and bearing the knowledge that his soul is unworth having. When, after a long and horrific life, he finally prepares to die, it should be knowing that whatever hell he endured here will be a cakewalk compared to the real Hell that he is going to.

I'm afraid that would have to be done by lottery and your chances would be slim. I bet there would be 50 million fighting for the chance. I can't look at that pig fornicator without imagining cross hairs on his forehead. And yes pig lard is a wonderful idea. I don't understand why we don't use that aversion to our benefit. I don't really care if the muslim world loves us. I'd much rather have them fear us.

I've been to a few anti terrorism schools and was taught that these guys really DO NOT want to be caught by US law enforcement and slowly rot away for years in an infidels' prison. I agree with OBannon and think that KSM needs to slowly go insane in solitary confinement for the next fifty or so years. If it's possible to extend his life to 120 years old, I say it should be done. That goes for ALL the other jihadis who get convicted of spreading this plague. THAT is a definite deterrent.

There are several reasons for this: they are defiantly rejecting the legitimacy of Infidel courts to try them; they hope to make America look bad, and cast doubt--in the minds of some, at least--that they will get a fair trial if they do not accept a proper defense; and they hope to spread as much Da'wa as possible during the trial.

I did read of his new look, but the one here really tells us perfectly what he is. His continued existence is as clear a reminder that our government still believes they're too civilized to wage war as it ought to be waged.

1. Absolute solitary confinement for life in a cell as tiny as the law will permit.

I forgot to add in the above: NO amenities whatsoever excpet the absolute minimum US law requires. If it's laws about religion require he have a Qur'an, then get the tiniest hard-to-read Qur'an one can.
Keep him alive, feed him SPAM every day. Wire him up so that when he prays he gets zapped. That's 5 zaps a day! Have some pigs in the cell with him and make him look after them. Have a dog outside the cell that can stare at him all day, maybe pee on the bars.

I realize that citing your own post--unless you're Robert of Hugh--is rather poor form. But I thought it was worth noting, this last point is already being claimed. I thought that any outcry would be withheld until a verdict was reached, at least--silly me.
I was watching Fox News, and Geraldo Rivera hosted a report where the ACLU is claiming that our boys are representing themselves because they were driven mad by five years of confinement. this is quite common in the case of Muslims accused of crimes.
Two of a group of four Lebanese Muslims who were tried (and, finally, convicted) for gang-raping Australian non-Muslim girls in Sydney, some years ago, insisted on representing themselves in court, and as they did, showed complete contempt for every non-Muslim present, including the judge.

I would like to see this mass murderer executed by having a bullet smeared with lard fired into his heart or his brain; alternatively, a hollow lard-filled bullet can be used. In either case, his body will be rendered (whoops - unintended pun) impure milliseconds before death, and entry into Paradise will be denied him. Our murderous friend should be informed of how he will die, and he will despair. And this is how we should deal with all Muslim fanatics who kill for Allah, or plot to do so. Let them know, in no uncertain terms, that this will be their fate.

Unfortunately, Rivera probably believes that ideology is 'a perversion of a great religion'.
The guy is bluffing. He's pretty sure that he will NOT be executed. That's why he talks so lightly about getting (ha!) martyred. Call his bluff and convict him and see the change in his demeanor. There will be appeals, demands for clemency, muslim mobs will riot over the "unfair conviction of an innocent", crowds will howl outside US embassies, rage boy will have his latest date with the TV cameras in Srinagar...
Even in a supposedly tough place like Gitmo these guys have succeeded in getting korans, little round caps and all the other paraphernalia of their religion. This has convinced this particular terrorist that he can and will get away with mass murder, defense or no defense. Can't you see, he's using your own freedoms against you?

I have a better idea. Just give him ham and bacon with no halal, that would be a perfect punishment for him.
Death penalty will be the easy way out for this Islamic worm. Besides, heaven may be running short of virgins by now. Fitting punishment for this low life: lock him up in the middle of Alaska, with lots of pigs as company and food. When he finally heads for hell, bury him with a pig.
Give him life in prison with daily servings of bacon, ham, hamburgers, and exc. Then after he dies cremate his body. Muslims believe every dead body will come alive again on the day of resurrection. Cremation will be the perfect punishment for this guy.
Sorry, Mr. O'Bannon, I can't agree. I don't want any more of my tax dollars supporting this pig-dog than necessary. Give him the choice of facing Allah filled and smeared with pork fat or dying as a Christian--and give him a good old-fashioned Chinese-style 9 mm. cerebral hemorrhage.
BTW, Marie, Christians believe in a resurrection of the body, too. And even the martyrs of old whom Nero and other Roman emperors burnt to ashes will share in it. I don't know about Allah Blackstone, but YHWH can do it; regardless of what happens to the body.
A suggestion:
If he's executed, don't let him shave off his body hair or wash his privates beforehand; that way, (as these whackjobs believe) he won't be allowed into paradise, martyr's death or not. Also, make it clear that his body will not be given a proper Muslim burial, as he is not a Muslim (really, what intelligent "moderate" Muslim is going to argue with that???) because real Muslims, as we are all constantly being told, are peaceful people who respect life and do not fly planes into buildings, killing thousands of innocents. He will therefore die not in triumph but in misery and torment. Dilemma solved!
