Brother charged in Canadian honor killing

The family left their native land, I would assume, for a better life in Canada. It is obvious that they did'nt leave everything behind and hung on to their evil traditions or customs (whatever it might be). I hope that after the father and brother have served their time, the entire family should be deported back to their native land.

Aqsa Parvez did not realize how islamic (violent) her family was since she had returned home. Her association with regular Canadians in school and through the media, she was led to think her family would forgive her since she first hand saw what a Christian nation held close to their hearts, "the act of forgivness". Her family still had islam thinking of revenge for family honour and her life was taken away. This trial should show all Canadians just how perverse being a pious muslim family can be when even her father and brother would kill her.

Sometimes to see the full magnitutde of evil in this, I have to ask:
Can anyone here imagine doing this to one of their own?
I mean, this is an 'honorable' thing this scum has done, and it is seen as such even by non-terrorist Muslims, and were he operating under Sharia Law, he'd be a free man and a hero.
Human life always gets trumped by Islam and the enemy will never stop unless they're stopped.

With the increasing number of Muslims being admitted to Canada and the U.S., it seems that Muslim sanctuary houses for abused and frightened Muslim women and children -- and for that matter, Muslim men under threat of death for apostasy, or other violation of sharia law) are in order.

I wonder though if the use of "Muslim" in the title for such sanctuary houses wouldn't open someone up to prosection under hate speech laws -- at least in Canada?

In the U.S. at least it might focus public attention on the peculiar dysfunctions inherent in Muslim belief, and possibly trigger some discussion of why such sanctuaries are necessary.

One girl in Canada, and two in Texas, might be alive today if sanctuaries, dedicated exclusively to protecting Muslim women, were available to them.

Having blood on one's hands is apparently for some preferable to having a young female in the family who is vital, vivacious, and independent.

It's time to rethink our concepts of "familial" and "domestic" and "cultural." Too often these concepts mask violence and horror and are used as verbal smokescreens to hide stark brutality. Is horror lessened when we identify it within these spheres?

Beware as well "religious" and "pious" when these appear in news articles. Note how their effect is sometimes to mitigate shocking acts of violence; to absolve from blame; to blur the lines of personal responsibility.

It must be made very clear to immigrants to Canada, that these so-called "honour" murders will not be tolerated in any way, shape or form in our fair country.

Unfortunately, domestic violence occurs in all cultures, even in plain-Jane, white-bread Canadians. Parents kill children, or are killed by them, spouses kill each other, and siblings each other. So don't expect much to be made of the Islamic connection during the trial.
Besides, if the prosecution does make much of the Islamic angle, they may be hailed before the Canadian Hate Crimes Commission for hate speech.

I dare say that if there was an ancient Aztec around and if he were to sacrifice someone by pulling out their heart, the reaction by the secular establishment would be pretty much the same. Fortunately, ancient aztec tradition/religion has died out and unfortunately, Islam is growing.

Uh, excuse me, but "honor killings" are not simply "domestic violence," which, yes, occurs in every society everywhere.

Honor Murders are a specific type of family violence, endemic ONLY to Mohammedans. "Daughter-Slaughter" for cultural and/or "religious" (i.e. Islam) reasons occurs ONLY in Islamic societies.

Aqsa was murdered for refusing to wear a hijab.

Provide for me examples of Christian or Jewish families who murdered their daughters because they refused to wear a particular item of clothing related to their religion.

I vote no. Muslim women who fear for their and their childrens' safety should be able to go to safe-houses that already exist for battered women. Is there anyone more battered than a Muslim woman? They should be required to live among non-Muslims. They should not be isolated from the rest of the community, which they would be in Muslim-only sanctuaries.
A Muslim-only establishment operating under state sanction only gives more weight to the idea that Muslim women deserve special treatment.
For Muslim men under threat of death, there should be something like the witness protection program. Again, they should not be segregated but their protection should be contingent on their assuming new identities and renouncing Islam.

It is the corrupt and timid politicians, not "we", who allow immigration. Why corrupt and timid politicians? Because, if you do not know, politicians are after votes and power. - Obviously, not elect any more.
- Impeach traitors who "we" elected.
Americans do not even realize that they elected a traitor. Else how else would Bush, with Arbusto and Harken energy and AWOL on his resume, become a president/commander-in-chief of this great nation? Ofcourse, his brother in Florida, married to a Mexican, where Bush got "elected" also helped the family. So you see, the Bush family has always had it's eyes on "votes" and 'wealth" (for those interested, GW admitted this, quite shamelessly, on "Farenhite 911"), but Americans, like his business deals with Saudis and Going AWOL, disregarded this "peek" into their "president/commander-in-chief"'s mind.
