This is the entirely predictable response of Iran to the earlier report about Israel's preparations for a strike. More important than what they say is now to watch what they do.

Iran likes to go on the offensive with their verbal attacks against Israel, while the Israeli plan their offensive quietly. Can you guess who actually can plan and execute the military job? you have three quesses and the first dont count.

I'd like everyone to read 'Their Just Human' (Het zijn net mensen) By J. Luyendijk. He states that what western Journalist publish in the Middle- East, is not correct.
What you see on television, read in newspapers, etc. Is not the full story, the background stories are never told. As in the Iraq war, Media in western world, pretty much only showed the US soldiers, their wins and THEIR story. If people would watch Al Jazeera, for example, a totally different story is shown.
Example: in the US and Europe, people saw US soldiers tearing down a statue of Saddam Hussein, while all Iraqi people where partying around the statue. People who watch Al Jazeera, Saw US soldiers tear down the statue of Saddam and -filmed from some distance- saw a small group of Iraqi people party, but most of them where just watching with a sad face. The US soldiers quickly remove a US flag, thrown over the fallen statue, after the pictures are made. Moreover, Most stone throwing and US flag burning happens when media arrives. Before that, the people are just waiting, after the shots, there just going to their wife and kids and have a nice meal.

Lots of people who are shown on western television, talking about the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, Where chosen by Israeli government, Almost all press is going to a Israeli hotel, given Israeli homemade "ready to print" information about what happened. There is NO journalism that's true about the Middle-East. Stories either miss important information, or are told from a perspective that definitely is going to score points. Ratings are all that counts. So I'm not saying you should not believe BBC,CNN,New York times, Fox news, etc. But that you should look critically to media, knowing that their are more perspectives, that their is important background information not told and you are shown, what US government wants you to see, not what really happens.

As for the U.S. government's role in the American news media, if you watch and read the news in the U.S., you should be well aware that they have never done the Bush administration any favors. Everything they say and print is biased AGAINST the current administration, including the deliberate release of sensitive national security intelligence data, for which the guilty parties should have been prosecuted for treason. If there are ten encouraging, optimistic, flattering stories and one incriminating or negative story, you can bet they will capitalize on the latter and ignore the former. The American news media have gone to unprecedented lengths to report only the negative aspects of the Iraq war and have largely ignored Afghanistan for the last two years.

So you're right about the biased media but you're very wrong if you believe Americans have been fed pro-Bush propaganda about Iraq and Afghanistan. I remember seeing a live broadcast of one of Saddam's statues being torn apart at the beginning of the Iraq debacle and it was not American soldiers tearing it down, it was Iraqis! If the scene was doctored in any way, it must have been staged by the most talented Hollywood stunt men, special effects artists, and cameramen, with Steven Speilberg directing. And that's not likely since Speilberg is a typical Hollywood left-wing, anti-war pacifist.

I have witnessed local TV news coverage were I was also at the location of the filming. Believe me the news crew got it wrong. And this was about a small event that almost no one cared about.

I have done some reading and studying like most who regularly post and we are not as naive as you concerning how the MSM reports on events related to the war. Notice I used the word war. And as you know war is deceit, so I don't believe half of what is told by the news (both sides) and question the other half.

Not harsh at all. It should be our national policy: Mecca's (and Medina's) Assured Destruction. The people might vacate the area but the Grand Mosque can't pack up and move. It will be reduced to dust.

The Saudis can be practical when they want to be. They currently derive a not insignificant sum from pilgrims making the hajj. A lot of businesses in SA will suffer the fate of the WTC. How many Muslims will make the hajj to view a hole in the ground? How many Muslims will pray five times a day toward sand?

To make their point about continued Israeli aggression short references were given to the 1967 war, Israel's strike into Iraq in 1981 and into Syria last year. Not mentioned were the reasons for these strikes (In 1967 Israel simply beat Egypt, which was preparing to attack, to the punch. In 1981 they destroyed Iraq's nuclear weapons development facilities at Osirik, and last year they destroyed the nuclear weapons facility that was being built by Syria with the assistance of North Korea). In the CNN report muchwas made of the fact that neither Israel nor the U.S. has made any public comment about these exercises, and no mention was made about Greek participation in the exercise.

All the stock footage that was shown of the Israeli Air Force was of F-16s carrying large bombs that had been retrofitted with the GPS guidance packages.

Suprisingly, they also included a recent clip of BO where he castigated the Iranian president for continually threatening Israel, and said that in light of these threats Israel has every right to do whatever it needs to do to defend itself. There was no comment from McCain.
