At least four people have been wounded after militants bombed video and music outlets in north-west Pakistan.
The injuries were all from a blast at the Ashraf music store in Kohat, a town in North-West Frontier Province (NWFP).
Militants also blew up two dozen stalls selling CDs and videos in Miran Shah in the tribal area of North Waziristan. No casualties were reported.
Pro-Taleban militants regard music and film as un-Islamic and are behind dozens of such attacks in recent years.
Threats
The BBC's Ilyas Khan says Wednesday's attack in Kohat is the first to have been carried out in NWFP in daylight.
More than a dozen music shops were blown up on the outskirts of the town on Monday night.
Most music stores in NWFP have either closed down or switched to other business following threats from suspected Taleban groups.
The attacks come at a time when militants based in a tribal district near Kohat are reported to be nearing a peace agreement with the authorities.
A police official told the BBC it was too early to tell who carried out the Kohat bombings.
He said there could be several motives for the attacks, ranging from extortion to an effort to create hurdles in the impending peace agreement.
Or, they could simply be enforcing Sharia law as they always intended. After all, Sharia in the North-West Frontier Province has been promised to the Taliban in the peace agreement with the Pakistani government.
Well can the victims point to scripture to prove the bombers are wrong or not?
If they can then they will have a point, other wise reffer to Quran 9:111/ 9:112.

Once upon a time militants used to refer to union organizers or civil rights demonstrators in this country.
The cowardly BBC has corrupted the English language.
What is happening in Northwest Pakistan will happen in other places if Jihadism is not stopped. Let this event serve as a wake up call for everybody. Hopefully, people will start taking action against the Jihadist threat before it is too late.
They're going to have to start disappearing the families of these terrorists before this stuff stops. That's how Saddam rolled. Yes, he was a bastard, but you could buy a beer and an Abba CD in his day without getting blown up.

This is just further evidence of how ugly Islam is. Anything noble or beautiful that elicits reflection, like music, a beautiful painting or sculpture, is an intollerable threat to the spiritual ugliness imposed by Islam on the faithful.
Why waste time on Mozart, Beethoven or Handel, when it can be better spent concentrating on what hand to wipe yourself with, what foot to enter a restroom on, what way to face when eating or urinating.
Anything enobling to the spirit has to be bombed or burned down.
It's no wonder suicide is so attractive to so many young Muslims. It's more than just the 72 virgins, it the hope of a more beautiful place all together.

It may be that Islam views music - instrumental music, singing, musical instruments - as haram, 'forbidden', because it is afraid of its ability to slip past or even undo the cult programming.
I understand that neurologists have discovered, in research with stroke patients, that songs and ordinary speech are stored in, or handled by, different parts of the brain.
People who could no longer speak could still sing songs that they had learned.
So it might be that the makers of Islam, the original cult programmers, had a suspicion that somehow music, songs, might bypass their wonderful brainwashing system. Entering by a different gate, so to speak. Hence, the ban.
Question: does Quranic chant classify as 'song' (not from the Islamic point of view, but objectively, from the point of view of a neurologist)? The only way to find out would be to do an MRI scan of the brain of someone chanting Qur'an and compare it to an MRI scan of someone singing, say, Christian hymns, or country-and-western, or opera, or, well, you get the idea.
If Quranic chant DOES go into the brain's 'music-and-song' box rather than the 'spoken word' box, then the ban on all other forms of music and song - ideally complete, but for fairly obvious reasons never fully achieved - is merely one more version of Islam's drive to 'eliminate the competition', its attempt to occupy the mind completely.
You're not supposed to have ANY music or song - EXCEPT, presumably, Quranic chanting.
Hadee's-e-Qudsi 19:5 (Ahmad): "The Prophet said that Allah commanded him to destroy all the musical instruments, idols, crosses and all the trappings of ignorance".

(2) “On the Day of Resurrection, Allah will pour molten lead into the ears of whoever sits listening to a songstress.”
(3) “Song makes hypocrisy grow in the heart as water does herbage.”
(4) “This community will experience the swallowing up of some people by the earth, metamorphosis of some into animals, and being rained upon with stones.” Someone asked, “When will this be, O Messenger of Allah?” and he said, “When songstresses and musical instruments appear and wine is held to be lawful.”
(5) “There will be peoples of my Community who will hold fornication, silk, wine, and musical instruments to be lawful ….”
'All of this is explicit and compelling textual evidence that musical instruments of all types are unlawful (Kaff al-ra’a’ ‘an muharramat al-lahw wa al-sama’ (y49), 2.269-70). "
And so, in contradistinction to all other known human civilisations and cultures, past and present, Islam formally declares music anathema. Music, instrumental and vocal, nevertheless exists in the Islamosphere - not because of Islam, but in despite of it.

Does the BBC reporter realize that soon it will be the Louvre, the museums of London and the great art of Europe that will be destroyed, all in the name of Islam? Grand cathedrals will be stripped of all art before being converted to mosques.
The works of Michaelangelo, Picasso and many others are doomed, if Europe is Islamized. They already object to artwork in the US Supreme Court, because it depicts Mohammed. Though he is portrayed as a lawgiver, it doesn't matter. The same mindset that once resulted in the painting over of parts of the Sistine Chapel will rise again if we let it.
So where does this leave good ol' Yusef Islam, formerly known as Cat Stevens?
I used to love Cat Stevens' music. Now I can't listen to it, his conversion to islam feels like a personal insult.
